I need to join and get back on track again. ...need not want!

A year ago, I went from 15.5 stone to 12.5. I felt so much better, with so much more energy and mu arthritis symptoms reduced considerably.

I’ve just been through the most appalling year, during which, I’ve put it nearly all back on again with comfort food and carbs from various stints supporting people in hospital. I could 😢

I’m starting on 7th. My own 2 week bootcamp. I’ve done it before and can do it again. I’ll join the rest of you when bootcamp starts.

Can someone point me in direction of bootcamp light rules? I'm thinking I can start on that for next week or so to make the ease into bootcamp slightly less traumatic

I'm instinctively thinking stopping bread, potatoes, pasta crisps, biscuits and alcohol is the starting place but anything else I need to do to ease myself into this?

Cassie if you want to ease yourself in I would start by cutting out sugar for the first week. However the reason we usually recommend starting straight in to Bootcamp is that it gets you through the fat adaption phase quickly. So you'll start burning fat sooner and any carb flu won't last long.

Thanks @StuntNun. I'd thought maybe doing it gradually would help avoid things like carb flu and make things easier. But maybe I should just jump in.

Wonder if I should start now or wait for bootcamp...

I kind of want to sign up again as I know it works but I dropped off as I found I got bored as I am vegetarian which made it quite hard to have varied meals and led to a reliance on cheese and fake meat. I also love to cook I think I need to be more along the lines of the blood sugar diet as that I think, allows pulses and some wholegrain rice. I have put on weight as I made the fatal mistake of keeping some high fat foods in but adding carbs to the mix (especially the bad ones) argg. Really not sure what to do as I found bootcamp very motivating. Got to do something though as I am at my heaviest now.

Have you had a look at the vegetarian recipe thread in the Bootcamp topic @RaininSummer? There are some lovely things on there.

Also, get hold of a copy of Rose Elliott's vegetarian low carb diet/recipes.

Thanks Biwi - I will revisit the recipe thread. Have been saving vegan recipes this morning as some of those arent too carb heavy but they do use shedloads of nuts.

Well yes, but you do need to make sure you're getting the right nutrients if you're vegan, as well!
