Morning all. Bit of a late start for me, I'm sorry. I'm working for myself now and don't have to go into the office, so decided to allow myself a lie-in this morning Smile

Anyway, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Although this has been a very quiet Bootcamp a) there have been some really good results and b) I suspect a lot of people lurk rather than post

Hopefully the next two weeks will be successful too, although they're not going to be easy weeks, as Christmas is ramping up in a major way!

Really pleased: bought a pair of black wool mix trousers (half lined) from Amazon (Atelier Gardeur). They arrived yesterday and I tried them on this morning. They look great. I'm pleased that I didn't try to disappoint myself be unrealistic and order a 12. Got the 14 and they fit almost perfectly - could do with a couple of pounds off but are wearable now Smile

They were £41.52 with free returns - but I usually end up going into town looking for decent black trousers and coming home empty handed and demoralised.

They've also got belt hooks which was another think I was looking for.

Dh says my bum looks very nice in them Wink

starsky22 · 12/12/2018 23:08

ilove that is a very good way to approach it. I'm happy eating low carb when the weight is coming off, but I get very frustrated when the scales don't move, am currently telling myself that eating chocolate is clearly not the solution!

Eco There is usually a bootcamp in January, but not sure what BIWI has planned for next year, in the meantime join in on this one, no time like the present to get started!

prettybird the trousers sound great!

starsky22 · 12/12/2018 23:10

Forgot todays meals:
B fasting
L leftover chicken, sausages, sprouts and spinach with cream and parmesan
D stirfry veg with pork belly

tootstastic · 13/12/2018 08:08

Thanks @Wildheartsease, I'm with you and @Littleorangetree about the Christmas fear. My intention is to just try to carry on over Christmas. I might be bad, but I don't think I'm mentally strong enough not to binge if I come off the plan. We'll have to wait and see if that's possible.

Thanks @starsky22 yes the lovely thing about this WOE is not having to starve. I too struggle with IBS and the dairy on this plan does seem to make it worse, but I love the cheese and cream too much to ditch it.

@ilovecherries I have so much to learn from you about the maintenance side of things. I have lost all my weight many times over through the years and always put it all back on again. I just can't let that happen this time around. I am determined to keep going, even if it means never being able to eat the food I love.

Kleptronic · 13/12/2018 09:13

Ilovecherries I've stalled myself and I'm starting to think this is just the weight my body wants to be. I want another 7lb but it's just not happening. Been losing the same 2lb all year, and like you I know if I calorie restrict I can lose that...and be miserable! So no. Low carb for me for EVAH!

tootstastic · 13/12/2018 15:10

Ooh I forgot to come back and do a happy dance earlier. When I jumped on the scales after my post this morning, I'd lost that 0.9lbs and hit 2 stones off since the start of bootcamp.

So that's 18st 10lbs down to 16st 10lbs. Still bloody huuuuge compared with everyone else, but getting less so week by week.

I'm going to a ball in the middle of January, followed by a weekend away, so would love to get another stone off by then and wear a lovely frock. I reckon that might just be possible if I can manage to stick at this over Christmas. That extra incentive (and you lot of course!) might help to keep me on the wagon when I have a wobble.

ilovecherries · 13/12/2018 15:45

toots, that’s fabulous, well done. Another stone off by mid Jan is entirely possible. I started to feel ‘large but normal’ around 15.10. I was clearly still big, but round about then it became ‘blend in big’ if that makes sense and I started to take a lot more care of myself generally, which created a virtuous cycle. You are doing fabulously well, you have absolutely got this :)

tootstastic · 13/12/2018 15:50

Thanks @ilovecherries and yes that makes complete sense. I should be starting to fit in size 16s by then and I think that looks a much more 'normal' size than a size 18 and above, which is more obviously obese. Loads more choice in shops too!

starsky22 · 13/12/2018 22:15

toots you are doing amazing, well done! I think having something to work towards really helps to keep you on target and a ball sounds like just the thing!

Todays meals
B fasting
L pork, celeriac & sprouts
D pork belly & creamed spinach

Scale showed me being down 1lb this morning, hoping it sticks!

tootstastic · 13/12/2018 22:49

@starsky22 thanks and well done on the lb off, what a lovely mid-week surprise.

Doilooklikeatourist · 14/12/2018 07:28

Friday again !
I did cave in yesterday and had a half slice of Christmas cake with my coffee break
It was lovely though
B Fast ( getting into the hang of this now )
L creamy veg soup
D bacon , cheese , mushroom and tomato omelette , green salad 🥗

prettybird · 14/12/2018 09:19

Had my Pilates Ladies Christmas lunch out yesterday. Picked the lowest carb options (but did have the chocolate mousse with orange marmalade icecream Xmas Blush for dessert which was lovely Xmas Wink

Hot smoked salmon, sliced cucumber, avocado mouse and horseradish starter, turkey wrapped in pancetta with pigs in blankets, brussels and roasted swede, carrot and parsnip for main (gave the fondant potatoes to one of us who is gluten free and had been given the gluten free hake without the out lentils so a bit plain and nothing else).

Glass of prosecco, half a glass of white and a glass of red. Xmas Smile

I'd had to take the cat to the vets in the morning and was a bit longer than expected so ended up having an omelet for "breakfast" at about 11.45, so only a couple of hours before lunch - but decided it was important still to have it to resist falling into carbs at the lunch.

Just had water in the evening. Xmas Grin

BIWI · 14/12/2018 10:39

That's brilliant @tootstastic - really well done! Flowers

OP posts:
starsky22 · 14/12/2018 10:56

Omg! Stepped on the scales and I've had an awesome woosh, lost 3 lbs overnight! Grin I've been really bloated for the last week or so and I my stomach felt flatter this morning, so I think I've been holding on to some water, that has finally gone! Just need it to stick! I always find weekends hard, so going to be extra strict this weekend, including no alcohol!

My weight has stayed the same or gone up over the last 4 weeks, so really pleased i stuck with it! Just wanted to say that if youre wobbling or feeling tempted by Christmas treats, keep going, your woosh could be just round the corner!

BIWI · 14/12/2018 10:59

Wise words, @starsky22! Glad the whoosh fairy visited you before Christmas!

Hello BIWI I was on your January 2013 thread (gosh, that must have been, what, two years ago?).

Do you still recommend the three-day re-start? DH and I just need a gentle nudge back from the edge. If you do, where could I find it? Thank you loads Flowers

BIWI · 14/12/2018 13:50

Hello! Smile

I'm not sure I've ever recommended a 3-day re-start - but perhaps you're thinking of the 3 days' worth of ultra low carb recipes? If that's what you have in mind, you should be able to find those linked in the spreadsheet, which is in the OP of this post.

Welcome back, and good luck!

OP posts:
KikiMadeMeDoIt · 14/12/2018 14:26

That might be it. Will have a look and get things started. Thank you.

tootstastic · 14/12/2018 14:45

I've been out for breakfast/brunch and had poached eggs, bacon and mushrooms with extra butter and several black coffees. It was lovely.

In my previous life when eating at the same place, I'd have had that PLUS sausages, hash browns, baked beans, tomatoes and toast, followed by a slice of cake and a giant hot chocolate with all the trimmings an hour later.

Oh, how times have changed!

@prettybird I love the sound of your Christmas lunch out. Good plan to eat beforehand too. I bet it's easier to wobble if you're hungry. I'll remember that with lots of Christmas events coming up over the next couple of weeks.

@BIWI thank you 🙏

@starsky22 blimey you are on fire! A huge Whooshtastic well done! You must feel great.

Littleorangetree · 15/12/2018 09:40

Morning everyone. I'm slinking into the thread with my tail between my legs this morning...

I had our works Christmas party last night and I was very good at the meal and kept it relatively low carb BUT I ended up drinking far to much, got sozzled and fell face first into vast quantities of pringles, quality street and sugary cocktails. To make matters even worse, when I got home I made myself 4 slices of white toast....Blush

This morning I feel hellish - I've got the runs and a very sore head, so it was NOT worth it at all and I think I have learned my lesson!! It was my first fall off the wagon since the beginning of bootcamp and it was spectacular. I also have the worst acid reflux I've had in my life (including when I was pregnant).

Back on the wagon with fasting this morning (because if I eat any food I feel like I might die).....

I hope you've all managed better than me!

prettybird · 15/12/2018 09:52

At least you've come straight back here and confessed all Xmas Smile - and you have learnt a valuable lesson Xmas Wink

The reduction in self control caused by alcohol is indeed more dangerous than the alternative (non-fat) fuel that it delivers. It's a challenge that I have to face as dh and I do enjoy nice wine (have a wee hobby wine business too Xmas Smile), so I have to very consciously slow down and just enjoy the taste and tell myself that a glass is sufficient.

Remember to drink loads and loads of water. It will help with the hangover too Xmas Wink

tootstastic · 15/12/2018 13:55

Aww @Littleorangetree I know that feeling and it's horrible. Hope it passes quickly for you. At least you've discovered what happens to your food resolve when you drink too much and a one-off will be fine if you clamber back on the wagon today.

Can you get away with flopping on the sofa, watching old movies and feeling sorry for yourself today, or do you have shit to do?

Littleorangetree · 15/12/2018 20:21

prettybird I've been glugging water all day and I'm feeling much better now (though my stomach is still doing hoola hoops)!

tootstastic I've had a pretty lazy day and fell asleep on the couch earlier while my son and I were watching the film Hook.

I've jumped straight back on the wagon today so hopefully it won;t have done too much damage to my resolve. I think I'm going to go very canny on Christmas and boxing day (my other 2 planned days off) - I can't believe how rubbish I felt after all the junk I ate.

Doilooklikeatourist · 15/12/2018 21:44

Had a half piece of toast ( loads of butter ) and some delicious local honey ❤️ For breakfast
Cheese omlette for lunch
Chicken breast with broccoli , mushrooms and loads of green veg for dinner
Oops ..Forgot to count the Christmas cake
Did loads of steps , and drank loads of water
It’s getting very difficult

So many temptations

starsky22 · 16/12/2018 12:45

Well done for getting back on the wagon littleorange and yes remember how rubbish you felt next time you are tempted to do the same!

My scales are still showing a loss, so hope it's there for weigh in day tomorrow! Just need to get through roast beef dinner today, I'm doing roasted celeriac, so happy too forgo the roast potatoes, it's the Yorkshires that are harder to say no to! Trying out a gluten free recipe for my son, so I would like to actually taste them to see how they compare. Never mind, I'm sure we'll make them again!
