Morning all. Bit of a late start for me, I'm sorry. I'm working for myself now and don't have to go into the office, so decided to allow myself a lie-in this morning Smile

Anyway, here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Although this has been a very quiet Bootcamp a) there have been some really good results and b) I suspect a lot of people lurk rather than post

Hopefully the next two weeks will be successful too, although they're not going to be easy weeks, as Christmas is ramping up in a major way!

2lb off , my total loss is now 12 lb , and I’m in the 10 stones for the first time in 15 years !
The 4lb off by Christmas is looking very possible 😀
Thanks for all the support and guidance from the wise people on the tread , and BIWI for starting it 💐

My dad was very sweet last night: I found a lovely low calorie dessert for me on the BBC Good Food site.

It was a sort of chocolate mousse topped with a sort of "meringue" (think it was baked egg white) and as we tucked in, he said, "Pears in Armagnac are ok, aren't they?"

Because he's my dad and I love him, I did answer "No" Wink - but added that I was still going to enjoy it anyway Smile

He doesn't quite get the "Not Low Calorie" WoE - he was querying the butter I was frying my courgette strips in, asking if that wouldn't add too many calories Hmm

I tried to explain the "fat adaption" "dining in" theory, but he's a cynical medic, so I was wary of not explaining properly.

He is very proud of, and impressed with, the amount of weight I've lost. Smile

tootstastic · 10/12/2018 10:31

@Doilooklikeatourist how wonderful getting into the 10s. I bet you feel amazing and look fantastic, congrats!

Thanks for keeping us all going @BIWI, it's my most successful diet in years and having this thread has made such a difference.

Rshard · 10/12/2018 11:36

Well done @doilooklikeatourist, breaking a stone barrier is great!

Wildheartsease · 10/12/2018 11:43

Well done Doilooklikeatourist and tootstastic - your success is inspiring.

I too have found this the most successful 'diet' and am lighter than I've been for many years.

There is a long way to go - but even on dark days it now looks possible.

Christmas worries me a little. It won't be possible to be in charge of my own food and I'll be preparing things that are certainly HC. It isn't that I wouldn't enjoy the new range of foods - just that I'm 'in the groove' and don't want to lose this. I have no desire for mince-pies/puddings/cake/chocolates etc and would like to keep this feelng!

(NB I did suddenly miss oranges and satsumas last week when this cold was at its height.)

gingergiraffe · 10/12/2018 11:51

I’m a lurker but have certainly gained inspiration and support from this thread, so thank you everyone. Just two pounds to go and I will have lost a stone, taking me down to 11 stone. I can’t wait to see ten stone something.

Busy this morning preparing Christmas treats. Puddings are steaming, made the pigs in blankets which I thankfully can enjoy. Sausage rolls and mince pies to make now. A good thing all the ‘kids’ are coming for Christmas to eat them. I love all the preparations.

prettybird · 10/12/2018 12:12

I'm not weighing in to day after peargate last night Wink and becuase I made a batch of tablet so that my dad could take some as gifts to SA.... Blush

Busy glugging water today and am currently drinnking a cup of rooibos with some coconut oil in it (the KTC stuff that doesn't taste coconutty).

prettybird · 10/12/2018 12:15

...and in a demonstration of its multi-uses, I massaged some coconut oil into my scalp last night to try to get rid of the sticky dandruff that I sometimes get (a bit like adult cradle cap Confused) Smile

I'm getting my hair cut and coloured on Wednesday so wanted my scalp to be in a better condition. It also has the benefit of conditioning my hair! Grin (although it takes two good shampooings to get it out).

BIWI · 10/12/2018 13:47

You're very welcome @tootstastic and @gingergiraffe! And I'm glad that it all seems possible now @Wildheartsease!

I am....ta-ra...10stone 13. Again. For about the 13th week in a row.

ShagMeRiggins · 10/12/2018 14:25

cherries what’s your goal weight?

ilovecherries · 10/12/2018 14:30

10.5, so not far to go. I really wanted to reach 10.7 before my breast reduction but I don’t think that’s going to happen. I’m just keeping on, I won’t count calories, that tyranny was what started the whole sorry process. Can’t believe though that in the first year I lost nearly 5.5 stone, and in the last six months I’ve barely lost 6 lbs.

prettybird · 10/12/2018 14:52

Your skin is taking time to adjust to all that weight loss ilovecherries Grin, making sure that you continue to look fabulous.

Collectorofcookbooks · 10/12/2018 17:44

Hi all, late to post but did WI this morning - have stayed the same - pleased as I had a few —too many— glasses of wine on Saturday night and it’s the season of party nibbles.

Collectorofcookbooks · 10/12/2018 18:20

PS I am really really starting to miss chickpeas - am making aubergine curry for dinner and would normally chuck a tin in. Rather random on the craving front, but there we are!

abbey44 · 10/12/2018 18:24

Stayed the same this week, but I guess that's to be expected as I've had three meals out this week and it's not always easy to stick as closely to LC as I would be able to at home. I'm choosing to put a positive spin on it and see it as maintaining the big loss I made over last winter, and at least I feel ok enough about myself now to not worry about wearing a swimsuit on holiday Grin

Well done to all those who have seen good results on this BC - I'm already looking forward to the next, whenever it might be. I'm off on Thursday, so I'll be thinking of you all next Monday when I'm sitting on that beach...

Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone Xmas Smile

qumquat · 10/12/2018 19:05

Hello. I did the last bootcamp and have tried to continue low carbing but I also have binge eating disorder so fall off the wagon a lot. I feel so much healthier and happier low carbing so I'm trying to get back on the wagon. At a really low ebb right now. Plan for tomorrow is:
Cheese omelette for breakfast with salad
Feta, avocado salad for lunch
LC sausage and cauliflower mash for tea. Just hope I can do it. (Tea tonight has been 4 flapjacks, a packet of crisps 2 mince pies and half a block of cheese)

bluelefant · 10/12/2018 19:13

Hi all.I am giving myself an extra day for weigh in as had a drink(maybe 2..) last night and this always messes with my result..
I have a stinky cold and do not feel much of a taste of anything also seemed to have lost the ability to feel full.
Oh,just want to be back to normal! All my senses are completely numb..That's why I gave in to last nights drink as hubby was having one.
On a plus side-I should be healthy in time for Christmas.

Littleorangetree · 10/12/2018 21:29

I have exactly the same fear about the festive season Wildheartsease. I've been doing so well with no cheating at all on this bootcamp and I'm scared I'm going to mess it all up and never get back on the wagon again! To combat this I'm planning 3 days off-plan - my work party, Christmas day and Boxing Day. I'm hoping that if I plan these days in advance it won't feel so much like falling off the wagon, but as a well-deserved opportunity to enjoy myself and have some wine and Christmas treats. Then it's back on-plan if it kills me!! Grin I'm also going to accept the weight this is going to add on and not worry about ti as it will come off again. I think it's all about being in the right frame of mind. I've got my eye on a pair of jeans I want to fit into for New Year, so I'm not going to let 3 days derail me in the grand scheme of things! That's the pep talk I've been giving myself anyway...! Grin

Have a good holiday Abbey44 and well done everyone on your losses. I'm 1.5lbs down, so pleased with that. Half a pound until I'm ot obese any more! Way hay!

Littleorangetree · 10/12/2018 21:31

Collectorofcookbooks I had a couple of spoons of Co-op full-fat hummous the other day, which my son was scoffing. Was amazing and not too high carb if you only have a little bit.

Collectorofcookbooks · 11/12/2018 07:14

Ooh good shout @LittleOrangeTree - will look at hummus.

Well, I’ve had my woosh- a day late 😂 ho hum, just got to hope the 3.5lbs stay off until next Monday!

Doilooklikeatourist · 11/12/2018 08:52

Please allow me a quick boast about a NSV this morning 😀
Just measured my waist .. in total I’ve gone down 2.5 inches
From 33 to 30.5 inches
So nearly in the healthy zone ( I think 30 is in the healthy zone anyway )

@littleorangetree
I love hummus , I’ve been giving it a miss as I just assumed it was high in carbs , I’ll have a look at the packs of readymade today

There’s a really nice chicken dish ( chicken Zorba ) which has hummus and Greek yoghurt , with loads of green veg on the side it would make a nice dinner 🥘

starsky22 · 11/12/2018 23:02

Been a busy couple of days, so only just getting the chance to post. I am up 1lb and suffering with my IBS, feeling particularly bloated at the moment, I don't think it is anything I have eaten, so putting it down to stress regarding my job! Going to koko and hopefully the weight will come again. I am back on track with food, but not drinking enough water! Struggling with all the food in the house and at work though!

doilook well done on being 10st something and the NSV!

toots and wild glad to hear it has been successful for you, it is amazing finding something that works isn't it, especially as you get to eat yummy food and don't have to starve yourself!

ginger Great to see you delurking and well done, keep going and you will be 1 stone down!

ilove I'm so inspired by you, I get so frustrated when the scales don't move, I would just give up, well done for keeping on!

abbey44 I am struggling with the eating out too, went on for lunch yesterday, had moules following by coq au vin, but sure the sauces have carbs in and the vegetables were carbier than I would choose. Have a great Christmas and enjoy the beach and rock that swimsuit!

qumquat Welcome back!! Your plan sounds great, hope you managed to stick to it today. Did you add fat to your salad? Do make sure you are getting enough fat to keep you full, as that may help stop the binges and keep posting here if you are having a wobble!

bluelefant Hope you feel better soon!

Littleorange I think that sounds like a good plan, getting back on track straight after is the most important thing, don't let a day or two off track send you into a downward spiral of carbs! Been there and it is not easy getting back on it! Also, I would think about what you are going to let yourself have without going crazy, don't think of it as an opportunity to eat everything in sight, just the things that you really want, whether that's one roast potato or one mince pie, or some christmas pudding and try and keep other meals low carb. And well done on the weight loss, that 1/2 lb will be gone soon!

Collector Great loss, fingers crossed it sticks!

ilovecherries · 12/12/2018 13:21

starsky, I think for me, I’ve had to come to terms with this being for life. (Even though I had a tantrum today about wanting home made lentil soup and chilli with kidney beans, dammit!) Weight loss is obviously fantastic, and was my prime motivator most of last year. But realistically that stops sometime, even if it’s not quite where I want it to be. And I just can’t/won’t go back to that place of being at the mercy of blood sugar crashes, constant hunger, palpitations, constantly fighting with the tyranny of food. I’ve accepted that it’s better to feel as I do now, and that for me at least, that comes with a cost - ie no non-veggie carbs. I had a week off for a medical procedure early in bootcamp, and within a few days, I was feeling like rubbish again. I hoped by this stage I’d have more metabolic flexibility, but I don’t seem to. So if this is the cost of health and happiness (and um, lots of new clothes!), then I’m willing to accept it as a fair exchange. My BIL is a non-drinking alcoholic and he goes to AA several times a week. He says talking to me is very similar to being at a meeting with regards to how I talk about my relationship with food, which is interesting. I know I could shift that last half stone if I calorie counted, but to me, that feels like a dangerous path so I’m just koko :)

Ecofluffynanny · 12/12/2018 21:55

When is the next (2019) bootcamp starting up? I really need to shed some pounds 👍
