Unfortunately the spreadsheet isn’t in my sights as I can’t access it on my iPad 😮

Could someone please post the link for me?

Some good results being reported on the last thread so let’s hope there are more to come!

Good luck everyone

Hello all!! Well done on all the losses!

Not doing so well here, fell into a pit of carbs and although I tried to get back on track last week, I sunk back under again, not even going to talk about all the alcohol consumed!

I delayed weighing in by a day and had a strict day plus some fasting yesterday to get rid of the water weight from the carbs which seemed to have worked, leaves me 1lb up on my last weigh in, which i'm happy with, could have been much worse!

I'd like to lose the 1lb I put on and another 3lbs if I can before Christmas, it's doable if I am strict! Should also think about exercising, haven't done that in weeks! Ooops!

Rshard · 04/12/2018 10:57

Hope you’re feeling a bit better @wild heart

I’ve been struggling too @starsky, had a stern word with myself and am taking it a day at at a time. Yesterday was good and today is shaping up well too. I think your 4lb goal is very doable. I’ll join you if you’d like a buddy?

LeapinLizards · 04/12/2018 11:11

Hi all. I am finding it a struggle too. I clamber back on to the wagon only to tumble off again. I've now crept up a few more pounds & I'm on the wrong side of 9stone. I'm so close to my target that any losses feel hard won & I keep succumbing to the fuck-its.
I may try an egg fast after @prettybird success. I like eggs & already eat lots so maybe it will be manageable for a few days & will reset my habits.

LeapinLizards · 04/12/2018 11:13

@rshard & @starsky I will join you (if I may) in the quest to lose 4 pounds before Christmas.

Rshard · 04/12/2018 11:19

Welcome @leapinlizards, the more the merrier.

tootstastic · 04/12/2018 11:55

Commiserations on the slips and congrats on all the losses.

I had an horrendous dream last night. It felt so real and it took me a while after waking up to realise it was only a dream. Some friends had invited us round for dinner, but ordered in a Chinese takeaway instead and for some reason I couldn't say i was low carbing. I dreamt I was literally stuffing chicken balls, rice, prawn toasts, anything I could get my hands on, into my mouth.

How bad is it that I've even started to dream about being a pig 🐷 aaargh!

FuriousFifties · 04/12/2018 11:57

It's a really hard time of the year to stay firmly on the wagon though isn't it? Just walking round the supermarket yesterday, it's everywhere, it's hard, there are so many seasonal temptations. I've ben telling myself that for my work do and for a few days over Christmas I will relax so to speak but as mindfully as possible. Then climbing back on.

FuriousFifties · 04/12/2018 11:58

ohh prawn toasts, that's my sort of dream!

tootstastic · 04/12/2018 12:07

Haha...I know, prawn roasts are bloody delicious. I felt so ashamed of myself when I woke up.

And yes festive treats are everywhere! It's hard KOKO, but I have so much to lose I daren't stop.

tootstastic · 04/12/2018 12:11

*toasts

starsky22 · 04/12/2018 12:13

Yes please to a buddy @rshard and @leapinlizards Lets keep posting and keep each other in check!

I have definitely had a few fuck-it moments in the last week, walking round a supermarket looking for something low carb for lunch, got fed up and though fuck it I'll just get a sandwich! I mean what was I thinking!

Todays plan:
B fasting
L chicken & cheese omelette
D roasted chicken leg with celeriac and green veg

starsky22 · 04/12/2018 12:15

I've had a few dreams like that toots it's a massive relief when I wake up and realise didn't eat all the carbs!

tootstastic · 04/12/2018 12:16

I wonder if it's a low-carbing thing then? It's weird isn't it.

ilovecherries · 04/12/2018 12:24

I had a completely low carb Xmas last year, and intend to do the same this year. What helped was:

Some seriously nice meat platters I could pick at - I know Serrano etc is processed but I decided I was going for it over the holidays

Ditto cheese, with celery. I possibly relaxed slightly with this as I had the odd slice of Stilton with apricot.

A pre-Xmas visit to hotel chocolat. I used the 90% stuff to make mint chocolate, chilli and sea salt chocolate, a few chocolate Brazils and their ridiculously expensive drinking chocolate which I made with cream and water and a squoosh of unsweetened squirts cream.

Beanies coffees, served with cream.

All the green veg, made in different ways - roasted, chilli-ed, serve with cream and bacon sauces, butter sauces etc

All the piggies in blankets I wanted!

Posh sparkly water, which I dropped a few mint leave and cucumber in.

A firm resolve that Xmas was not about stuffing a box of quality street down my chops, but rather enjoying time with people, and a reminder how liberating it would be not to have yet another moment serable January reflecting on how much I’d eaten. I don’t normally have much cream at all, so that in itself was a treat. I was at that point chasing 11.13, which I made on NYD :)

We did have quality street, mince pies, after eights, Baileys etc in the house for others, but I just didn’t even consider they were for me.

tootstastic · 04/12/2018 12:50

I so want to be able to have a Christmas like that. I'm going to try my damnedest to make it through the festivities without face-planting the quality Street, then struggling to clamber back on the wagon in jan.

Rshard · 04/12/2018 14:06

Fabulous @starsky and @leapinlizards, regular posting will definitely keep us in check.

That’s a really good approach @ilove, shows us it can be done. You’ve said before that you’re an abstained I think, any tips for moderators?

prettybird · 04/12/2018 14:19

I'll join the 4lb-ers Grin - was 11st 3lb this morning and would like to make 10st 13lb by Christmas. Smile

I'm a moderator and have learnt that I can cope with brief "off pistedness" but too long/too many and it starts slipping Xmas Blush So one roast potato on Christmas Eve (when my family tradition is to have our "main" Christmas dinner) is ok and I can cope with that.

I make lots of lovely mince pies, so I plan to have maximum of two over the period. I don't like hot mince pies I know, I'm weird Xmas Wink

prettybird · 04/12/2018 14:30

(posted too soon Blush)

So, I make the mince pies and then freeze them. That way my friends and family can enjoy hot ones, while I have to plan ahead for if/when I have one Xmas Grin

The Quality Street tin is more of a problem Xmas Hmm - but I really restrained myself last year, only had the ones I really liked and had far fewer than I've gorged on had in previous years.

I also have some of the Danish Christmas pudding (sweet rice risotto with chopped almonds and one whole almond and whipped cream folded through it) at our Christmas Eve Christmas Dinner.

I also boil and bake a ham so that on the cold turkey means I've got plenty of lovely meat to snack on.

It does come at a cost though Xmas Shock - I did put on, iirc, 9lb (I'd need to go back and check - might have been slightly more it slightly less) Xmas Blush But I did lose it again within a couple of weeks of re-starting Boot Camp in January. It helped that I was responsible for running the first couple of weeks of Boot Camp Grin

Doilooklikeatourist · 04/12/2018 14:33

Ooh , I’m joining the 4lb off by Christmas if I may @Rshard, @starsky and @leapinlizards
That would be a Stone off for me , and my lowest weight for about 15 years
Have a Christmas party and my husbands birthday to enjoy , before then , without being too daft and diving into carbs and alcohol 🍷

bluelefant · 04/12/2018 14:49

Oh,do I dare to join the "4lb off by Christmas" club??
I would love for this to happen!
I think I am a moderator but this will be my first low carb Christmas..
Pre Christmas drinks at neighbors could be a bit of a challenge as food and drink is enjoyed much on this event Wine

Rshard · 04/12/2018 15:54

So glad to have more on our 4lbers gang!

Interesting to hear about how you moderate your way through Christmas @prettybird

Last year I planned Christmas Eve evening,
Christmas Day and Boxing Day off. Didn’t go exactly to plan but I aim to be better this year.
I think I put on about 8lb but like @prettybird, it came off prior to the nex boot camp starting.

Today’s food
B - buttery scrambled eggs
L - grilled halloumi, salad, mayo
D - hm chicken and mushroom pie filling (dh and dd have pastry lids), broccoli
1.5 litres water, half to go

prettybird · 04/12/2018 16:54

I think it was the wine that did the most damage over the Christmas period Xmas Blush

I'm another member of the 4lb club Grin. Technically, 3 and1/4lb would get me to my first objective - which is to break through 11stone into the 10st somethings. But I'd like to make it to 10 stone 13lb, which requires the full 4lb, as that would be 4 stone lost since I started in May 17 - and a stone since last Christmas. I'd really like to make it to 10st 12lb - as that would be me back to a "normal" BMI. Xmas Smile

abbey44 · 04/12/2018 19:23

I've found you...! I was so busy sulking in the corner that I forgot to weigh in yesterday, but I have today. I've been doing really well the last week or so and I think I'm back on track. Sulk is over, anyway.

I have discovered the nicest dinner, and it's so easy to make - it's Sainsbury's pulled pork shoulder with BBQ sauce (I chucked that out as I suspect it's where the carb count is and the meat tastes lovely anyway) with stir-fry celeriac & cauliflower rice and roasted broccoli, chopped up and mixed in. Bloody lovely. The pork shoulder is dead easy to cook and does two meals, easily.

BIWI · 04/12/2018 19:39

That sounds lovely @abbey44.

Glad the sulk is over Grin

I was just looking back at my weigh-ins on my app from last Christmas and was trying to work out how I lost weight over the Christmas period, then I remembered that I came down with a sickness bug on Christmas day and didn't even manage pudding before I started throwing up! Wouldn't recommend it!

Nice to have more members of the 4lb club! We can do it!

Lovely dinner tonight of roasted chicken leg, green veg and roasted celeriac, I think I could have eaten the whole celeriac, it was so good!
