Week 7 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Only 4 weeks to go ...

Morning campers

Here's the spreadsheet

So there are only four more weeks to go before we reach the finish line. But still time, if you're keeping to the rules, to lose another 4-8lbs - so possibly another half a stone!

It's a tricky time of year, though, as we hurtle towards Christmas, and the parties and drinks and chocolates start to make their appearance. I don't know about anyone else, but I have That Dress that I need to make sure I fit into, so that's keeping me focused.

Hope you all have a good week.

Ah well, dinner out tonight has been cancelled as our friend has a touch of food poisoning. At least it means that all the wine temptation will be avoided Grin

Fortunately, I have some turkey steaks in the fridge that we can have instead.

Had a M & S chicken tikka masala , ( had 9-6g carbs apparently ) with loads of homemade cauliflower rice and buttered broccoli

Was lovely ( and I would normally have eaten all of it , not half a pack , with pilau rice , onion bhaji and mango chutney )

Homemade cauli rice is amazing , and I will make it again , delish

Friend ended up deciding he was well enough so we went along the road for dinner after all.

Food was good and low carb but we had a very good bottle of bubbly (to celebrate his birthday earlier in the week), a Mas du Daumas Gassac (very good red) and a half bottle of Grand Cru Sauternes amongst the 3 of us Blush

Slow start this morning......Blush

I have to admit, my biggest problem issugar. I cant eat one chocolate, I HAVE to eat the whole box. Same with biscuits. I a not able to eat one biscuit, but have to eat the whole packet..Ive been falling off the wagon My only way round this is to never buy these foods from the supermarket.. Im wondering though, Ive had a friend tell me about 'red tea', and Ive found a website about it here: www.reviewsforgreat.health.blog has anybody tried this?. tempted to try it..

I think a few of us drink Redbush tea (which is what they are talking about) - although with my South African heritage, I call it rooibos. Smile

I used to have to get it brought over from SA by relatives, but now it is easy to get here, very reasonably priced in supermarkets. I get TikTok, which is one of the original South African producers.

I've never heard specifically of it being good for weight loss but I do tend to drink more of it when I'm on Boot Camp as it is caffeine free and I can tolerate it without milk.

I've bought some half price brocolli and cauliflower rice.

any suggestions for what I can do with either of them?

Prettybird, I grew up in SA (emigrated when I was 3) and lived there for 25 years, so rooibis is a staple in my house too! My children were all weaned on it, fantastic stuff! I have it with unsweetened soya milk and think it’s delicious Smile

Rooibos fan here too! I drink pints of the stuff. Dragonfly is my favourite brand; some of the others seem to have an unpleasant aftertaste. I drink it black.

I've had a good week, but went out for a crap Christmas lunch with in-laws today and much as I tried to avoid anything banned, I wouldn't be surprised if there were some hidden carbs in things like the mushrooms in creamy cheese starter. I left the sausage, Yorks pud, gravy, stuffing and roast potatoes on my plate and dodged the pudding. But the veg was sprouts, tick...but then peas, carrots and green beans. So I just ate all the turkey, all the sprouts and a tiny bit of each of the other veg. What I did eat was dry and horrid and I left feeling hungry. Not a bad effort considering, I suppose.

Good luck for tom everyone!

2.9 lbs off for me, which is a bit of a relief after yesterday. So, 23.9 lbs altogether. I wanted to hit the 2 stones off mark before Christmas, so should hopefully hit that in next couple of weeks if I KOKO.
