Morning all. Very sorry for the late start of this thread. I was at my desk early this morning and forgot all about it Blush

Here's the spreadsheet

Looking forward to seeing how you all got on last week, and I hope that the dreaded week 3 and 4 effect will now be in the past!

Good luck for this week Flowers

It's this one using steamed cauliflower

Spiderkitty · 16/11/2018 07:55

That sounds really nice BIWI! I love celeriac in any form so it's always fun to try another celeriac recipe.

Thank you all for recipe book suggestions, I'll give those a go Smile

B: Greek yoghurt and cinnamon
L: Spicy pumpkin soup
D: Creamy spinich and chicken bake
S: Probably some cheese or a boiled egg

BIWI · 16/11/2018 08:25

@Grah0SoontobeaFitty Yes I was thinking that myself!

For clarity, I used a medium-sized celeriac, which made two generous portions - would probably have served three people at a push.

I also baked it in two separate dishes, using those glazed terracotta tapas dishes - so if you were doing it in one dish, it might take a bit longer. I think the secret to drying it out to the right temperature is using a wide shallow dish rather than a narrower, deeper one.

Hi Everyone. I've just added myself to the spreadsheet. I was all up for doing this from the start but as soon as I started thinking about restricting my food, I had a big wobble. I've had a few more weeks of eating whatever and I feel uncomfortable and bloated - when I'm eating low carb I feel physically better. So, even though it's late, I'd like to give it a go - hopefully that's ok. Even a few weeks doing this is worth it and might kickstart me into eating like this for a bit longer. So, here goes. Ana

Iamnotacerealkiller · 16/11/2018 14:15

Ug i hate supermarkets at christmas, just walked down an aisle of thin model on magazine only to be hit with a wall of freshly baked donut smell and row after row of seasonal treats. got really quite annoyed that we are constantly being manipulated to eat eat eat then blamed when we succumb to (known to be effective) marketing.

Managed to survive the trip and had a lunch of bacon and chicken salad with mayo and bre, was rather more fatty then im used to as i don't really like full fat mayo. the light version was 6g per 100 though so avoided. feel full and a bit sick.

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 16/11/2018 15:07

@Iamnotacerealkiller need to to perfect the "FU-I'm no Sucker" pick up the devil treat admire the marketing expertise -imagine there's a board room full of marketers going " buy it, buy it". - Look at the Carbs in Nutritional section, say "FU-I'm no Sucker" in your head -- put it back on the shelf the wrong way round. Smile and work away.

After all every one of those marketing geniuses deploy the thought this Pretty and Colourful packaging will get the Fat-Sucker eating this.

Well, Coffee on, Water in the Fridge, Breakfast delayed, Meals all Planned and ready for Day 1 of 37 - KOKO
Have fun out there.

Was pleased with myself: dh and I went into town for pre-Christmas shopping/reconnoitring (postponed from yesterday as we were mesmerised by the political news) and went for breakfast. He had 2 slices of Italian bread toast (and OJ) and I had scrambled eggs. Unbeknownst to me, the scrambled eggs also came with 2 slices of Italian bread toast, so dh ended up having four slices of toast Grin

Welcome ana999 Flowers

We have people jumping in throughout the Boot Camp. Make sure to do the strict first 2 weeks - but we're here for support Smile

Ana999 · 16/11/2018 18:46

Thanks prettybird!

tootstastic · 16/11/2018 18:54

Just about to head off to the gym on a Friday night. Oh how times have changed! It'd normally be a huge takeaway and family-size bags full of sweets.

I really feel like this thread has saved me!

Had a sneaky weigh in , still the same
I’m reading there’s often a slump at this stage , so not unusual ?
Had a good day , been quite busy
B scrambled egg with smoked salmon ( so luxurious)
L Veg soup with a drop of cream and some cheddar
D Chicken breast with loads of vegetables , fresh tomatoes ( and 2 glasses of Chardonnay )
Bought a celeriac in Tesco ( to make soup tomorrow ) and it’s ( shock ) a normal size 😀

BIWI · 16/11/2018 20:31

Why only 'a drop' of cream, @Doilooklikeatourist? And the rest of your meal looks pretty low in fat too. Please don't forget this is a high fat way of eating!

OP posts:
Doilooklikeatourist · 16/11/2018 20:39

@BIWI im still finding it difficult to get into this way if eating
Years of fat being bad , then sugar being the enemy and fat is my friend 👍
I’ll add more butter to food tomorrow , more cream to my soup ( it’s like eating velvet , so smooth ❤️)

prettybird · 16/11/2018 20:44

DoIlooklikeatourist - sometimes I find that if I'm stalling, "snacking" on nice butter (I like the Issigny salted butter from Sainsbury's) actually helps get the scales moving down again ShockSmile Plus plenty of water!

Doilooklikeatourist · 16/11/2018 21:14

@prettybird , I like the Welsh salty butter ( Shirgar ) and will add this to every meal tomorrow 😀

BIWI · 16/11/2018 21:29

@Doilooklikeatourist

Please, please, please do some reading about low carbing! Go to the spreadsheet and look at all the resources there have been posted there. It's really important that you understand how it works and why you shouldn't afear the fat!

OP posts:
Doilooklikeatourist · 16/11/2018 21:33

@BIWI I will go back and read the rules
I have this annoying DH who thinks low fat is the way to go , and he makes things difficult ( though I love him really )

BIWI · 16/11/2018 21:39

It's not so much about the rules, more about learning about the science behind low carbing - and there's lots of stuff on the spreadsheet that will help you. Also, have a look at The Diet Doctor's website. Lots of great stuff there.

Just ignore DH!

Littleorangetree · 16/11/2018 22:21

I'd like to give myself a pat on the back and thought I would post about it here since nobody I know in real life would understand.

This evening I was helping out at a local fund-raising event where there was unlimited amounts of tea and delicious homemade cakes as far as the eye could see.....and I had none!!!!! I can't tell you how out of character that is for me! I had a few moments of thinking "sod it, I should just bloody have one" then I gave myself a talking to and decided it just isn't worth it to ruin something that I've been doing well with for the longest time I've ever managed to stick to a WOE. I feel so chuffed with myself because I've never had any willpower around food and have always used it to cheer myself up or when I'm bored or unhappy etc. and since starting this bootcamp I've stopped using it as medicine, which is probably for the first time in my whole life. I actually had self control.

Sorry, a bit of a garbled post! Grin

boldlygoingsomewhere · 17/11/2018 06:09

Well done, littleorangetree! It is amazing when you have that moment when you realise that, actually, you don’t want cake. I’ve really lost my taste for it - on the odd occasion between boot camps when I’ve had a small piece, the taste of the sugar has been really strong. I didn’t enjoy it at all!
I get excited about ‘proper’ food as a treat now. Love a creamy coffee, good quality meat with delicious veg, a couple of squares of good quality dark chocolate. My new comfort food is paprika celeriac chips with mayo. Grin

tootstastic · 17/11/2018 10:18

Love that Littleorangetree...bet it was a great feeling afterwards, well done you!
