Morning all!

I would normally drop a link to the spreadsheet here, but for some reason I've had to request access to it Confused

So until someone else - or @AthelstaneTheUnready - can sort this, I'm afraid I'll just have to start the thread without the link.

You've lost your shoulders, Lone! You look half the size.

It's taken me a while to find some photos, having been camera-phobic most of my life. But I've found some from 3 different weights over the last 6 years - I'm currently at 8.12/13, so looking like the larger of these - will try and post in a moment.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/06/2018 18:32

Largest picture at 9.5 (although I started January this year at 10.4) is the wedding one - upper arms almost as broad as they are short.

The upward-climbing picture is at 8 stone - and the fittest I've ever been - wild camping for days on end and carrying 25+kgs of backpack to do that.

The snowy picture is me at 7 stone - still wiry enough for my beloved walking, but not a good goal for a sedentary, or middle-aged, lifestyle.

So you can see that for me, I'm not a slinky Cherries legs shape at 10.7. I don't even begin thinking of slinking until I get under 9 stone.

Lonesurvivor · 20/06/2018 18:34

Thank you both, I hadn't really noticed the shoulders because my face has changed a lot!
Ah feck it I'll do the face and if people recognise me so be it it's not like I'm peddling drugs Grin left is the before just in case it's not obvious to anyone but me Wink

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/06/2018 18:40

Are you sure it's not the other way around, Lone? You look slimmer (and miles happier) in the blue top picture?

Lonesurvivor · 20/06/2018 18:41

AthelstaneTheUnready you look fabulous in all 3, that's a lovely wedding pic.
But wow you are fit and svelte in those last two pics. Are you very active now?

Lonesurvivor · 20/06/2018 18:44

Yes it's the other way around, I meant to say after, Confused I'm definitely happier in the blue top, bought it and took a while to get into itGrin

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/06/2018 18:45

Not so much now, Lone, and that's probably part of the problem. I haven't the time/opportunities to do the grand rounds that I used to (the Mamores & Grey Corries, or Fisherfield). While I knocked myself out walking and climbing in the mid to late 30's it didn't seem to matter so much what I ate and drank. Mid-40's, and minus the big trips, it matters very much indeed.

prettybird · 20/06/2018 18:46

I agree - looking at the clothes, the left head shot is the after head shot Confused

You look a lot younger and happier in the blue top photo Smile

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/06/2018 18:47

Doh! Have just realised I forgot to face-out the middle picture! Just pretend you didn't see that...

Lonesurvivor · 20/06/2018 19:01

Thanks pretty birdSmile

AthelstaneTheUnready what are you saying about mid 40s?! I know we can only see your face in one pic but I really and truly thought you were in your 20s from all 3 pics. I was going to comment that I'd assumed with you were older from the all the knowledge you share on this woe but stopped myself as I realised it could come across condescending.

prettybird · 20/06/2018 19:11

I know some people say losing weight "ages" people. I think on this WOE, that's not the case with all the lovely fat and water, to keep our skin plumped up Smile

ilovecherries recently turned 60 and looks fab (I've met her in RL) Smile. I'm 57 and if I say so myself, look pretty good for my age, especially since I lost the 3+ stone GrinBlush

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/06/2018 19:22

pretty's right, no-one believes I'm (as of Monday) 46 years old, but then I do get through a pack and a half of butter a week Grin

I do have quite deep naso-labial folds now that worsen when I don't drink enough water, and they're fairly aging, but almost no 'fine' wrinkles anywhere.

clare8allthepies · 20/06/2018 19:27

Well I made both fathead crackers and flaxseed crackers this afternoon. I think I should have rolled the fathead ones slightly thinner. They were a bit bready rather than cracker-y but very nice with butter on. The flaxseed ones were more cracker like and had a more ‘wholemeal’ type flavour, you can definitely tell they have plenty of fibre!

@bingefest the recipe for the fathead crackers said that they should keep in an airtight container for 3 days or so, the flaxseed recipe didn’t mention how long you could keep them for.

Gammeldragz · 20/06/2018 19:32

Everyone's photos are amazing and so inspiring. embarrassed definitely an obvious difference there, tummy has shrunk loads, you must have lost at least a stone?
lonesurvivor yours look fab. Definitely a big difference there too, especially the face ones, wow!
Athelstane wow, I can't even imagine what 8 stone feels like, but it looks fab on you.

Rshard · 20/06/2018 19:38

You all look so fab, I love seeing before and after photos

Gammeldragz · 20/06/2018 19:38

I do think I look older now though, wrinkles show more. First photo is me at 30, second is today at 32.

Gammeldragz · 20/06/2018 19:41

clare8 both types look good, I'll have to make some one day.

ilovecherries · 20/06/2018 19:43

embarrassed and lone, there is a big difference between both. Athel, you look so fit in that picture with your face. Lone, what strikes me about your face photos is how happy you look. Initially I thought no one would ever see my before pictures(in fact I struggled to find any!), but when Ragz posted hers last May I found them so encouraging because it helped me to see what a smaller body could look like - in a way that photoshopped before and after just don’t.

Justmuddlingalong · 20/06/2018 19:44

I'd rather I looked like an auld wifey, than a fat, auld wifey. The bags under my eyes are all but gone, my cheekbones are bloody fantastic. My neck however... 🦃

Lonesurvivor · 20/06/2018 19:45

57prettybird? Would've put you years younger too. You're right usually when people lose weight they age, my top half and face would be the first to lose weight. When I lost the first 20 on The Blood Sugar Diet my usually excellent skin looked quiet haggard and fine lines deeper. I am into skin care and follow the fantastic skin care threads so upped my game but I know the fresher look that started to happen so fast couldn't have been from skin care alone, long may it continue and may we all keep going backwaysGrin

Belated happy birthday athe there's a year and a few days between us I'm 45.

Thanks gammel I think it's my face that I'm most please with so far, I feel I look like me again when I catch sight of myself.

Lonesurvivor · 20/06/2018 19:49

No gammel look at under your eyes, less bags/lines and around your mouth, when you smile one one crease.
I think you've more colour in the first photo and that instantly makes us look fresh but when you look closer you've less lines and fuller lips I think.

Who needs BOTOX when there's butterGrin

farine · 20/06/2018 20:44

Ohhh my period has started and I am climbing the walls for chocolate. What's a good alternative or a distraction technique

prettybird · 20/06/2018 20:58

I think your eyes look brighter in the 2nd photo gammeldragz Smile

prettybird · 20/06/2018 21:00

Farine - sounds facile but go and drink a few glasses of water.

prettybird · 20/06/2018 21:01

......and step away from the chocolate! Grin
