@Bostin

That's a really tough one. If you can stick to it as much as possible, then that's what I'd do. If you do indulge - which is highly likely as you're on holiday! - try not to use it as an excuse to choose the carby options all the time. And then when you get back, go back to strict Bootcamp for a couple of weeks.

Thanks @BIWI

Lonesurvivor · 04/05/2018 11:48

BIWI I don't eat eggs and I think that limits me a lot as they're so versatile. I can just about stomach egg muffins but the smell and taste of eggs make me heave. I've tried loads to overcome it but it's impossible.

Lonesurvivor · 04/05/2018 13:49

Also just to add you're right about the fat. I still struggle mentally to include it as much as I should.
All those years of low fat been brain washing still makes it a difficult one for me to switch and I've been trying for some time now.
I'm upping it this time though but have to remind myself and not let those feelings that I'm sabotaging my plan take overHmm

MrsBertBibby · 04/05/2018 23:29

I think I am going to die. Late night, no food in the stations but crisps and chocolate and I know there's fuck all but bread in the house.

And my companions are hogging stinky crisps.

I am so fucking hungry. Nothing since lunch.

ItsalmostSummer · 05/05/2018 06:51

I’ve signed up and waiting to start ..

Bluntness100 · 05/05/2018 07:48

God, I had that yesterday mrs. Sod all in the house, ocado coming between 8 and 9 pm, and as per Sod's law, came at nine. Ended up nibbling on a cheese slice and a few peanuts.

Really need to plan better 😳

MrsBertBibby · 05/05/2018 08:30

I found an avocado when we got in. Om nom.

Goodasgoldilox · 05/05/2018 09:18

I would like to join. I am doing the things in the blood sugar diet at the moment and feel so much lighter and my joints are less achy.

I have lot of weight to lose. (About 50 lb to reach not overweight category - but25lb to where I feel good- am 10lb down so far)

(Going on holiday to a mountain region in the summer and am the only overweight member of the party. I want to be able to walk with everyone else.)

aracena · 05/05/2018 09:55

Inspired by this thread I’ve just done 8 days on boot camp (except last night when I had a handful of almonds) and a glass or two of wine at the weekend. The results have been astonishing - I’ve lost half a stone in a week and not really felt hungry. I am amazed. It has been hard not eating fruit - realised how much fruit I eat...I have really missed it. Also I find it hard to eat quite a lot of meat but have enjoyed all the spring greens with garlic I’ve eaten...not sure people round me have though! Anyway, going to go for a week of fairly low carb but will join in boot camp on 14 May for another week or two. Don’t need to lose much more now anyway so it will really be to maintain. But I may have some strawberries this weekend at least...

Bostin · 05/05/2018 11:05

@BIWI

I normally drink kefir in the morning which is about 4g of carbs in the serving. Would you advise against this during Bootcamp?

nford95 · 05/05/2018 11:59

How do I join? I'm newbie and not sure how to even post lol

BIWI · 05/05/2018 14:43

@Bostin - it depends on what else you're eating/drinking during the day! By itself that's not too bad

@nford95 I've added you to the list on the other thread - and welcome!

Id like to join too please. I have 3 stone to lose. I did a similar type diet a couple of years ago but it also had massively restricted calories so lots of calorie counting. I did drop 2.5 stone in 6 weeks though. I am ashamed to admit it has all crept back on since then.

Im in the USA and find this kind of eating works easier in the summer here when we cook on the grill every night and have that with salad. well my very English husband has to have spuds in some form with every meal

I cant for the life of me figure out why I cant keep weight off. I dont eat processed food. Very seldom eat bread or pasta or rice. I dont snack between meals and dont eat much either. Im very sedentary though so I should probably try walking or something. I used to go to the gym every day but since developing RA I find it too painful, even walking lots causes me so much ankle pain.

Oh well, hopefully this approach will work better with maintaining the weight loss than the very low calorie one.

BIWI · 05/05/2018 19:09

Welcome! I hope it does work for you. You certainly won't go through the torment and deprivation of a very low calorie diet.

Lonesurvivor · 05/05/2018 20:04

Quick question re calories do people keep an eye on them at all or just eat freely from the food list and know it'll work?

BIWI · 05/05/2018 20:50

On Bootcamp we don't count calories!

As you get nearer your target, you may need to take calories into account, but for now - don't. Just follow Bootcamp rules and you will be fine.

Thanks BIWI, you're so helpful answering all our questionsFlowers

BIWI · 05/05/2018 21:07

I do my best! It's like herding cats most of the time

OP posts:
dementedma · 05/05/2018 21:11

I will try again. i find it hard to stick to to be honest, but I know it works.
breakfast ends up being either hard boiled eggs or yoghurt, lunch is a salad, and the evening meal is meat and veg. I find I can vary the evening meal ok, but breakfast and lunch get repetitive

BIWI · 05/05/2018 21:13

Well don't keep having the same meals then! There's no excuse for that. There are plenty of different things you can have.

I have been doing the IPD diet since Monday and have lost 6lbs!! However fell off the decaffeinated wagon on Friday : (. Only have 3 cups of coffee a day (cafetiere) with cream when I'm on nights and 2 on 'ordinary' days and can't believe how much difference it made. I couldn't stay awake and felt terrible! I'm hoping the caffeine doesn't stall things. I would like to join bootcamp please? I am on holiday for a week at the end of May which includes a BIG birthday but I'll get straight back on it when I get home. For the record, my arthritic knees hurt much less on this WOE

BIWI · 06/05/2018 08:16

You are very welcome!

Whether or not caffeine stalls things is something that no-one can seem to agree on, so I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Hi,
Can someone point me to the specific rules? I believe it’s three meals a day. Is that correct? No snacks. I have done research around the type of foods to eat, but need a little more direction. Thanks so much.
