Probably asking for trouble by starting on a Thursday, during the Easter hols, but after dithering back and forth with l'carbing, I need to make a proper start (as in, the chocolate is all finally eaten).

I'll be weighing in tomorrow, and following all the rules of bootcamp, as per the instructions.

My goal is to shift weight before the end of the school term in July. No figure in mind, just shedding weight. I am also joining a beginners running group on 17.04.18.

Anyway - if you want to join me, please do! You are free, if course, to weigh any day you wish!

Melaniecheeks - a pancake with guacamole and peanut butter??!! Feedback on this please?? ShockGrin

MelanieCheeks · 11/04/2018 17:23

Not exactly, I cut it in half and had a separate topping on each :-)

How is everyone doing?

After the brownie debacle I'm back on track. I don't see any weight loss happening, but I'm telling myself to be patient and give it a month. At least I'm eating a lot more vegetables than usual.

About to make a soup with the contents of my organic veg box: cabbage, leeks and chard.

Hope everyone's having a good evening!

Fluffywithteeth · 12/04/2018 21:37

well done pecansandy!! We all fall off the wagon - getting back on takes a lot of determination - really, really well done

Are you counting your carbs? I'm aiming for 15-20g carbs per day which equates to 150g lettuce, 100g cauliflower, 100g green beans, 3 eggs, small avocado, 25g red pepper..... your list of veggies sounds great but might be worth going v tight on carbs to kickstart yourself (obv am eating lost of fish, meat etc on top of that carb allowance!!)

I'm doing really really low carb for 14 days and then slowly going to increase my carbs from then on. Have now done 4/14 days (yippee). AM fantasising about apples and wine! xx

Oh, enjoy your lovely veg soup!

Good weigh in this morning, I'm almost down to 10 stone, and a co worker said she can see my cheek and collar bones ( and that I look more like my daughter, lol!)

Today's food I knew was always going to be rubbish.

B: frittata
L: tin of tuna and a boiled egg with mayo and pickles. Yum!
S: 10 dark chocolate chips
D: at a party so a couple of sandwiches and 2 teeny buns. And 3 cocktail sausages.

Hi, I've just popped over from the main thread to see how you are all getting on - think the next boot camp starts next month and hope you will all be around to join in. I just had a couple of observations that I hope you find helpful:

  1. Low Carb High Fat Where is all your fat? There is very little mention of butter, olive oil, mayo etc.

Someone mentioned 0% Total yoghurt - you should be having the full fat stuff. The fat is what keeps you full and satisfied.

Someone else mentioned "egg white scramble" - the yolk is the best bit, no need to avoid it 🙂

To give you an idea, I have 1-2 coffees a day with cream in. I also use a lot of butter to cook my FLGV* in - tastes wonderful! It also means you are less likely to cheat, because you don't get those sugar-induced hunger cravings.

*Fuck Load of Green Veg

  1. Carb creep
  • porridge is not LCHF
  • sweet potato is not LCHF
  • thin slices of toast are not LCHF

These are the sorts of things you can maybe have, occasionally, once you are in maintenance.

This boot camp I have discovered celeriac - it is a great substitute for potatoes and rice: I've made mash, chips, rice and dauphinois with it, its amazing stuff!

Someone mentioned pizza - look up fathead pizza (can't link v easily). You make a pizza dough out of almond flour, mozzarella and cream cheese. There's enough left over to make crackers and it really hits the spot.

There are some extremely knowledgeable people on the main thread - BIWI and StuntNun in particular, and ilovecherries who has lost a phenomenal amount of weight and is very inspirational - also lots of menu ideas. Come and join in Smile

Hello, day one for me, can I join? Lots to lose, I finally actually weighed myself this morning. 14st 10lb. Lumme.

The chief problem has been waiting dinner til the kids are down, which these days means after 9.00pm, so I've been getting in from work, grazing loads, and then eating a full dinner before bed.

Vegetarian which makes life harder.

So far today I have drunk much black tea, and nibbled cheddar and a couple of Quorn chicken slices.

Tonight we shall try a thing involving asparagus, spring cabbage and such with eggs and feta, cooked like a shakshuka.

MrsBertBibby · 22/04/2018 13:26

Oooh, celeriac! Is that OK then? Made this soup over the winter, it is delicious. Would have to leave out the potato bit of course

Can I join please, day 5 for me and have discovered that shopping in Aldi rather than Tesco now I am on this is cheaper and ideally suited with their range on continental meats, they had these gorgeous flavoured chicken pieces (I had peri peri chicken which were 2.5g per 100g)and lots of steak. My dc are fussy eaters and dh is a carb lover and so am ending up cooking 3or 4 meals but have decided I am worth the effort as normally cook 2 or more usually 3.Well done @melaniecheeks.

MrsBertBibby · 22/04/2018 16:23

Oh goodie, another novice!

Does anyone use those pee sticks to detect when you're burning fat?

MrsBertBibby · 23/04/2018 08:04

1/4 ounce down this morning!

Goodasgoldilox · 23/04/2018 19:45

Hello all - it is lovely to find you!

I've just started a LC and high Med way of eating. Hoping that it will do the trick for me and my wrap-around floatation device.

Of course (as you can see from the name) it is going to be hard to limit the porridge.

MrsBertBibby · 23/04/2018 20:49

Welcome!

I am day 2. I am headachy. Is it too soon for no-carb discomfort?

MrsBertBibby · 24/04/2018 08:55

1.5 oz down today!
