As several people look like they're reaching or soon reaching their target, I thought it would be a good idea to start a maintenance thread.

I know lots of people are worried about how they're going to maintain, so having a support thread for ideas and suggestions sounds like it's going to be important!

Well done resisting Brassica! My friends thought I was one of 'those women' the other day when I had an apple dipped in peanut butter as a snack while they ate iced buns!

FurryTurnip · 22/12/2017 20:23

I have eaten a few chocolates at work today, and can confirm that for me there is a direct link between sugar and very bad wind! Another reason to avoid it!

Almahart · 23/12/2017 07:00

Totally fell off wagon yesterday - chocolate liqueurs, mince pies, crisps the lot. Slightly dreading scales

FurryTurnip · 23/12/2017 07:11

I'm with you Alma. I came home and ate a lot of crisps and stollen....

Feel dreadful this morning. I can see why people said maintenance is so hard, once you let a few carbs in your body just screams for them. I have got to find a more structured way of doing this, but probably not the time of year for it! Am going to aim for 2 full days of bootcamp lite to try and do some damage limitation!

starsky22 · 23/12/2017 07:31

I had Baileys last night, it was so sweet, buy oh so good.

Have been avoiding the christmas food so far, mainly because I think once I start I won't be able to stop!

Almahart · 23/12/2017 15:10

I think I might be managing to eat more like a thin person though. 8 didn't feel the need to eat much so had scrambled eggs at lunchtime, no breakfast. I think that's the difference

BrassicaBabe · 23/12/2017 17:27

Ssshhhh I'm in the Pizza Hut!!

FurryTurnip · 23/12/2017 17:55

Your secret is safe with us Brassica! I've had another shocking day... May stop stressing about it so much and just have a hard core week after Xmas. I hate being out of routine...

Almahart · 23/12/2017 17:55

Well I've had two mince pies and brandy butter now Wink

BrassicaBabe · 24/12/2017 07:36

Pizza Hut blow out equals 2.5lbs on! Planning a LC roast today. Nothing fancy. We'll see....

BrassicaBabe · 25/12/2017 07:13

An un-festive post Pizza check in....
10.4.2 before pizza
10.6.8 the day after pizza
10.5.4 today after eating little and LC yesterday.
I'll take that! A helpful pre xmas experiment Smile

Happy Christmas!

FurryTurnip · 26/12/2017 07:48

Glad the damage wasn't too bad Brassica!

I'm checking into this thread for the next few days for some accountability, had awful few days of carb overload and can see and feel. It.

My eyes have dark rings around them and my body feels wobbly. Back on it today, didn't even enjoy the carbs much, it was just emotional Xmas eating. Any carbs from now on will be planned and slowly enjoyed.

BrassicaBabe · 26/12/2017 07:58

I had a day off yesterday and will probably do the same today. My aim today is to drink plenty of water as my digestive system feels like it's stopped working. Blush

Tomorrow straight back to LCHF with the added benefit to no festive food in the house. Will go for my C25k week 4 run too

Velocity · 26/12/2017 18:35

Hmm 🤔 I'm indulging in a fair bit of carby twattery but did manage a 16:8 eating window so perhaps some damage control. Like @BrassicaBabe will try to increase water intake from tomorrow.

Singadream · 26/12/2017 21:45

Had week off. Too scared to weight. Going to do aweek of low carb from tomorrow and then weigh then start afresh.

BrassicaBabe · 27/12/2017 09:15

I have no idea how it's possible to put sooooo much weight on. 10.4 pre pizza on Saturday, 10.5 xmas morning, 10.8 Boxing Day morning. 10.10 today!! Yesterday we had chicken pie and jacket potato. Definitely haven't been drinking enough water. Thinking I might finish in a flourish with a curry take away before climbing back on the wagon tomorrow Shock

FurryTurnip · 27/12/2017 17:18

I feel everyone's pain! I have such good intentions and start the day with a hearty low carb breakfast then it all goes to pot. Every time I go into the kitchen my hand finds its way into a box of chocolates. I'd happily chuck the lot out but my partner is a chocoholic, but luckily also an ultra runner so he can get away with it.

Am trying to stay as close to on track as possible but planning to go hard-core again once the kids go back to school. This is my prime time of year for going slightly out of my mind - no physical or mental space and that's when I comfort eat. But I recognise it, and know it's not forever.

On the upside, as I went 3lbs below goal to allow myself a bit of a buffer, I am still at goal but only just!!

BrassicaBabe · 27/12/2017 20:10

My digestive system is in serious meltdown! Shock

Curry including naan and rice is on its way. Tomorrow we are formally back on plan as no social, no food in the house and 2 exercise events planned! Hmm, watch this space! Grin

BrassicaBabe · 28/12/2017 07:55

Right. This is it. Curry leftovers disposed of. 6 Christmas lbs to get rid of!Shock It's going to be a while before maintenance can be considered!! Grin

FurryTurnip · 28/12/2017 08:53

Go for it Brassica, it won't take too long to shift that. I'm also back on it, probably bad timing as I've got 3 social meals in next 2 days but am approaching it like proper maintenance, will allow a few controlled carbs but rest of time I'm bootcamp low carb.

BrassicaBabe · 29/12/2017 09:12

2 Xmas lbs off. 4 to go!

FurryTurnip · 29/12/2017 09:17

Wow Brassica that's a great start. I continue to do really badly, having encountered a buffet with samosas on it. Hey Ho, today's another day!

BrassicaBabe · 29/12/2017 17:23

Hmm. An unexpected "thing"... eat nothing except lettuce dipped in cheese, a slice of ham oh and wine!

Frickin mine field this time of year!!

FurryTurnip · 29/12/2017 18:19

I'm with you on the minefield. Boiled eggs for breakfast, good intentions for rest of day...followed by samosas for lunch and about 20 little celebrations chocolates. And out for a curry shortly. Just want it Tuesday to come and normal life to resume seeing as I have zero willpower right now!

Velocity · 29/12/2017 20:18

I'm another one too scared to weigh! I found a scale that measures body fat and it's too high so my motivation is to burn body fat - I don't think I'll be able to properly get back to LCHF until the 1st if January and I'm going to spend a month really trying to track my macros to see what kind of difference it makes. Hopefully I can be properly fat adapted by the end of January.
