Week 3 - the parting of the way! - Low Carb Bootcamp

BIWI · 23/10/2017 07:26

Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet

Hope you've seen a good result, making for a very satisfying first two weeks.

Now. Those two weeks were probably quite tough, so if you want to, you can now move on to Bootcamp Light - the rules are on the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet.

Essentially this means you can start to skip breakfast (or another meal) if you want to - if you're finding that you're not hungry. (Please don't skip meals for any other reason)

You can also introduce some fruit - mainly berries - in moderation, and also nuts and seeks - again, in moderation - and alcohol - IN MODERATION!

But. It's very often the case that in weeks 3 and 4 your weight loss will slow right down. Sometimes you may see a slight gain, even though you know you've been following Bootcamp to the letter. So you may not want to relax things quite yet.

Entirely up to you.

Remember, though, if you choose to stay on Bootcamp, please remember to make sure you're getting your carbs in the most part from vegetables and fruit - you need that for proper nutrition.

If you like you can do a hybrid - Bootcamp during the week and Bootcamp Light at the weekend.

But whatever you choose - good luck and I hope you have a good week. Flowers

Black Motzart. NSV is non scale victory, for example getting into a smaller dress size or having glowing skin

I have the mobile app.* My posts are one colour, the ops posts another colour and everyone else’s a third colour. Which colour is for who you can alter in your settings.*

Just got to the end of today’s thread but still catching up on yesterday’s.**

Congratulations on all those losses.

Weight wise I stayed the same.** Could someone add that to the spread sheet please

veryflummoxed 189.** Thanks.

Veryflummoxed · 23/10/2017 22:23

Prettybird it did indeed.* However I’m now back on my jinxed by gremlins form.* Grin

BlackMozart · 23/10/2017 22:35

Copperas thank you for both. Guess it must just be my iPad! 😊

BlackMozart · 23/10/2017 22:37

And veryflummoxed that helps. Thks.

BlackMozart · 23/10/2017 22:40

And prettybird too, thank you.
Will post my starting weight tomorrow.

Cherrypi · 23/10/2017 22:57

My Asda delivery just came without any celeriac! Out of stock!

ClearEyesFullHearts · 23/10/2017 23:32

Jumping I've updated spreadsheet for you.

wombattoo I hope you haven't been going to Spreadsheet after each "please update" request, only to find it updated. That would be annoying.

If that's your thing, let me know and I won't do it. Such a time waster for you!

GeneandFred · 24/10/2017 00:09

I'm dreading these next couple of days as I'm due on and I'm a fricking nightmare with the Crisps usually.... I'm getting the pork scratchings at the ready! I'm attempting a fathead pizza on Wednesday! Fingers crossed.

YoLoNovVitMe · 24/10/2017 01:32

lenl what a horrible scary experience. Hope your little DS is OK. I think you would have been justified in diving into the hospital canteen chips in the circumstances.

Well done everyone on their losses. However small or big they are. I have STS but that means I really started at an artificial low due to illness, then gained when I was a carby twat and then lost it again. But overall I'll take it as a loss because I weigh the same now as healthy as I did 2 weeks ago in a dehydrated nothing left in my intestines state.

Onwards comrades!

CarbyDeadUn · 24/10/2017 03:28

Lenl. Scary!

It is 03.30. Nobody should be awake at this ungodly hour. Even if they are being paid. I hate nights. I can feel the 40 years of carbs settling on my arse.

TheMonkeysOnTheTable · 24/10/2017 07:02

lenl what a horrible experience. I hope he's on the mend now. Well done for getting through it.

B: eggs, mushroom and bacon
L: cheese and celery. (Maybe)
D: sweet paprika chicken with sour cream, guacamole, cheese and gem lettuce.

I'm going to make a batch of creamy chicken soup this morning for my next few days lunches.

What are people's favourite hflc soups?

Almahart · 24/10/2017 07:11

Leni that sounds horrible poor little DS and poor you.

I was amazed looking at the spreadsheet to see how high in carbs blueberries are - 12g - watch out everyone!

Monkey my favourite soup at the mo is broccoli and blue cheese with some dried chilli flakes on top. As much cream as you want too obvs.

SayrraT · 24/10/2017 07:39

almahart I might change that if everyone can tell me what carb count is on their blueberries.

I refuse to believe it and the ones I have in the fridge say 7g.

BIWI · 24/10/2017 07:43

@dataandspot I think the carb count has to be without shells, given that you can't eat the shells.

That said, pistachios are one of the higher carb nuts, so beware!

Here's a really useful visual to show the carb counts of various nuts

Just a friendly reminder, before I have to start getting my stick out: PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THREAD BEFORE YOU POST YOUR QUESTION!

'What's a NSV?' has been asked several times now!

Please. People here spend a lot of time answering questions or posting information, and it's galling when you realist that other posters aren't reading this.

@Lenl I hope your DS makes a swift recovery. That must have been really scary

Rshard · 24/10/2017 07:47

lenl, very scary experience, hope he feels better.

monkey, my favourite at the moment is cauliflower cheese soup. Although dh made a broth with poached chicken last night, which was lush

SayrraT · 24/10/2017 07:52

Mmm, cauliflower cheese soup that sounds amazing! My favourites are cream of broccoli or cream of celery (even though I don't like celery).

The nearest Tesco had no celeriac or kale yesterday!

ilovecherries · 24/10/2017 07:58

I made a lovely soup yesterday, to empty the fridge of random veg. 1 each of leek, celery stick, courgette, red chilli, thumb of ginger, clove of garlic. Chop small and fry everything together with a slab of butter I'll soft. Add a litre of bullion or stock and a chicken breast. Simmer till chicken breast is cooked, then fish it out, shred it and return to pot. Add a handful of shredded spinach and (non essential) fresh coriander or parsley.

Veryflummoxed · 24/10/2017 08:10

Hi SayrraT I don’t have any blue berries in the fridge but doing a quick google, most sites are saying 14. There is nothing lower than the diet doctors twelve.

WhoKn0wsWhereTheSlimeGoes · 24/10/2017 08:17

Sticking to normal BC here. Partly because I have had a couple of lapses, partly because I'm not that bothered about berries, nuts or alcohol.

Found half price celeriac in Sainsburys yesterday Smile

Almahart · 24/10/2017 08:17

That sounds amazing Ilovecherries. Totally thrilled as I just weighed myself an have dropped a pound so am in the 10s. Yay!

SayrraT · 24/10/2017 08:29

Thanks very I'll just leave it then maybe? I don't want to be handing out misinformation!

ASDismynormality · 24/10/2017 08:30

I dropped 2lbs over night, typical as it's the day after weigh in!

Hope everyone has a good day!

Veryflummoxed · 24/10/2017 08:30

Quais I’ve just seen where you posted this in the old thread.* * I'm wondering if there are many other obese post-menopausal women, like me, in BC and whether their experience is similar to mine? Yes my experience is very similar.* I have been trying to break the thirteen and a half stone barrier for months now. But due to frustrations d life events I come off plan for a little, this spirals into days and up I go and have to start again. I know myself well enough by now to know that frustrating as this is, any other way of eating and it wouldn’t be three or four pounds up it would thirteen or fourteen and keep on getting higher. So I’m sticking to it (despite the occasional nagging doubt) and I will get under the thirteen and a half.*
