Portion Sizes?

Hello, inspired by the Bootcamp thread, I have started giving it a go, although I haven't signed up yet as you all seem to be nearly at the finish line for this one.
Just one quick question - I feel like I am eating too much! Is that normal? Do you watch portion sizes carefully? I'm so used to really carefully calorie counting, it's hard to get my head around and am worried that I am sticking to the allowed foods well, but having too much of them? Haven't felt hungry at all.

I'm wondering this too.

whyhastherumgone · 11/07/2017 18:42

Glad it's not just me @ZivaDiva
I haven't been going crazy with portion size at all but don't want to end up putting on more weight by accident with all this delicious food :)

I'm going to sign up for bootcamp but not sure if you can sign up at just any time?

I don't know, I've only been doing it for a couple of weeks and I'm shrinking but don't want to slip into eating too much as I have form for that with other diets.

whyhastherumgone · 11/07/2017 19:54

Interesting well done on shrinking!are you measuring carbs each day?

if so do you mind sharing how much?

i'm just struggling to get my head around eating all this and believing i'm going to lose weight

I stick to 20 carbs maximum a day.

Justmuddlingalong · 11/07/2017 19:55

*20g

whyhastherumgone · 11/07/2017 20:10

I don't measure carbs, just no bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, cereal, pastry etc. Plus stick to berries if I have fruit. Haven't measured or weighed myself but belts gone in one hole and jeans looser on my thighs.

Hello Smile

If you want to join us on Bootcamp you can just jump right in! We only have two more weeks left on this one, but I always keep a chat thread going in between, so you'll find plenty of help and support there.

The general rule of thumb is to eat enough to satisfy you. Low carbing isn't about depriving yourself. However, nor is it carte blanche to pile your plate high and stuff your face!

In the early days, though, you don't need to worry about calories. Nor do you need to count carbs. There is no daily limit or amount you should be aiming for, because everyone tolerates carbs differently. Just follow Bootcamp rules and you will be fine.

As you reach your target weight, your rate of weight loss will naturally slow down, and it's only at that stage that you need to consider calorie counting.

whyhastherumgone · 12/07/2017 18:53

oooh thanks @Biwi that's really helpful, I'm going to sign up! And thanks for the info that makes me feel much better :)

I'm just finding it so easy, it felt too good to be true. Especially now I've discovered celeriac and mashed cauliflower with cheese instead of mash - that was always my dinner downfall.

I know it can feel too good to be true! Grin

whyhastherumgone · 12/07/2017 21:47

Will do! Quick qu I've only got quiche in and am in need of a snack - it's a mini quiche there's half left from earlier, cheese and broccoli - if I don't eat the crust will it do too much damage?

OP posts:
BIWI · 12/07/2017 21:51

Yes, that should be fine!

whyhastherumgone · 12/07/2017 21:52
