Morning all

Glad to see some positive news already this morning - [flowers[] Hesdeadjim

Here's the spreadsheet for your official reckoning

So we have four weeks left. A good push now and you could still lose at least 4lbs, if not half a stone.

Here's to a good week Gin

Well done to everyone for doing so well and sticking with this.
I've was away yesterday so couldn't weigh in, but have updated the sheet this morning, I've got a small loss, which I'm pleased with.

I was quite good whilst away, stuck to salads, bacon and egg for breakfast, and opted for cheese for desert, but did have quite a lot of wine to wash it all down with. Back to having a dry week now and KOKO.

Thank you Biwi for all you support and hard work.
I've had an unusual week - conference food and travelling which has made choosing suitable food challenging, and I ran out of my supply of suitable snacks. I stayed the same despite it, which I suppose is as good as I can expect. Now back to being chief cook at home so should get back on track. My scales are not very accurate- I can only read to 2 lbs.

ASDismynormality · 21/03/2017 13:39

A while ago my GP referred me to the Diabetes Prevention Programme. It was then I started to look into diet for diabetes and decided in low carb. I have just had a call from DPP inviting me for an initial appointment. The great thing is that it's a support group that runs for 9 months, the aim is to get fit, lose weight and reduce blood sugar. The negative thing is they advocate the NHS Eatwell plate - 50% carbs. I would really like the support and to have my blood sugar monitored but I know I will ignore the diet advice! Will go next week to see what my blood sugar currently is but unsure of it's the right thing to do!

BIWI · 21/03/2017 18:48

Well, there's one way to find out which is the best way, isn't there?! Grin

thank you @maggiso!

ASD anytime you get to have a free test with someone on your internal workings, the worst you could do is not go.

Get the test, get the information. Then once you have the results of where you are currently do the low carb until the next test.

Then you'll see if it is working for you.

Beer retention falling down 3lb from yesterday hope to lose all the 8lb overnight fluid weight gain by next Monday.

Inspired by someone up thread I decided to try making myself a wrap from egg. Just egg and a little cream. It came out too frail to eat by hand but on the whole it was a success and something to experiment with. I may try adding cream cheese next time. I filled it with tuna mayo, spring onion, celery and avocado. Less filling and it may have stayed together better. No room left for the leaves so I had them on the side.
Dinner was pork chop, celeriac mash, mushrooms and cabbage.

The eggs wraps I've made before were eggs plus spoonful of oil. They come out really well, very easy to roll. Sometimes I add a wee bit of flax as well.

Veryflummoxed · 22/03/2017 08:29

Oh thanks SayrraT. I'll try that next time.

StuntNun · 22/03/2017 10:44

Has anyone tried one of these egg roll machines? They look like a bit of a faff but great fun.

Thing101 · 22/03/2017 11:10

Oh guys, I've only just found you, and so late in the day!! Have been thinking about bootcamp but obviously not looking hard enough! I joined in previously and did well. May I join for the last few weeks and go hell for leather?!

SayrraT · 22/03/2017 11:40

That looks interesting stunt!

Hesdeadjim · 22/03/2017 13:04

I've finally got rid of the protein shakes Grin

Haven't had one this week but unfortunately I'm still struggling to get time to eat lunch, so I've been having creamy coffee for breakfast and lunch Blush not good.

You'd think I'd be really hungry, but last night I was only able to eat about quarter of my gammon steak, all my broccoli but none of my egg Hmm.. I'm just not feeling food at the moment Confused

LazydaysofSummer · 22/03/2017 13:10

Not a very inspirational day with food yesterday, but trying to up the fat intake scrambled egg, cheese salad with oil dressing, chicken with skin on mayo and broccoli.

I have picked up Marinated Italian Mozzarella from M&S, which is in a basil pesto dressing and looks yummy. Only 1.8g carbs but with almost 40g fat! I was really looking forward to it for lunch with some avocado, but to describe my avocado as firm is an understatement!
Going to stick it in a paper bag and hope it's edible tomorrow!

Hesdeadjim · 22/03/2017 18:31

This was a life saver today. I just had the cheese and left the pickle, but it prevented a major major binge when I stopped on the way home for petrol.

Normally I'd have grabbed a sharing bag of crisps and a packet of biscuits Blush

Dogblep · 22/03/2017 19:27

Well done on everyone's scale results.

I haven't weighed but have access to a scale sometime over the next few days.

I've been doing really well. I've been really strict and feeling less hunger overall and my trousers are getting looser. Today as a treat, I had 2 tablespoons of Greek yogurt, a spoon of coconut cream, about 1/3 of a banana and a square of 90% dark chocolate all mixed up. Not something to be repeated for quite a while given how carby bananas are but I believe in moderation and it was really delicious. Really hit the spot.

maggiso · 22/03/2017 19:29

Heisdead I buy the cathedral mini cheeses ( or other brands), to carry around as needed. The extra mature ones are lovely. I bought an insulated purse to put them in ( meant for eye drops or insulin -£1 from the hospital shop). When my(then) toddler son was in hospital after an accident he was very withdrawn in the strange place and would not eat ( so could not be allowed home)- until I took him out for a walk and found a garage selling cathedral mini cheeses - then he was interested and eat at last- so I have a special affection for them!
I crave salty things. I think craving salt is often my issue - rather than sugar. ( I don't have to avoid salt fortunately). I also found some tiny foil packs of olives. Tiny packs of nuts ( oops are we allowed nuts?) are handy for emergencies.

Hesdeadjim · 23/03/2017 06:57

maggiso mini packs of stuff is a great idea as is an insulated purse!

I haven't really felt the need to snack on this WOE, but I only managed to grab a coffee for lunch yesterday and I used to use getting petrol as a major excuse to binge, so the habit is clearly ingrained and because I was hungry it was harder to resist that urge.

I told myself it would be a good idea to just have a look in the fridge section to see if there was anything low carb friendly before I grabbed something unsuitable and there was these and pepperami Grin suddenly I really really fancied cheese so I grabbed one of these and left, totally forgot about the crisps and biscuit cravings! Revelutionary moment really.

I didn't finish my dinner (rack of ribs) as a result though Blush

Visaste · 23/03/2017 08:03

I've had a bad couple of weeks. Didn't even weigh last week but forced myself to this morning in the interests of being self-accountable, and am now a pound higher than my starting weight :( Entirely my own doing as it was my hen do at the weekend and I went a bit crazy. Anyway I'm now on Uber Bootcamp for the next couple of weeks to get it under control. The prospect of having to get into my wedding dress, which I was measured for when I was half a stone lighter, is spurring me on!

Well done everyone for all the losses and for KOKO Flowers

Dogblep · 23/03/2017 09:21

I'm not on the spreadsheet cos i started late and don't generally have access to a scale but i've lost about 8 pounds in 3 weeks!!! I just weighed today.

I was already low carbing but clearly far too many carbs were creeping in. Being stricter has worked wonders!! So thrilled i can't even say. I had stalled for months and last year in the entire year only lost 8 pounds so i was giving up on the idea i could properly lose weight.

I'm now 11st 6. My previous lowest weight was 10st 13 so nearly back to that and i felt phenomenal at that weight. I want to get down to 10st at most so really not long to go.

A big thank you to BIWI!! I'm on cloud 9.

Dogblep · 23/03/2017 09:25

Oh and if it helps anyone to know this i have M.E. i spent most of the last 3 weeks lying down and generally can't exercise at all. It proves that exercise isn't really relevant when it comes to weight loss (though of course is great for your health). So take heart if you can't do too much either.

CaptainBraandPants · 23/03/2017 09:39

Morning all.
Well done Dogblep, that's a great achievement.
I'm KOKO, it all feels nice and routine now, which is great.
There were lots of cake in work on Tuesday as a colleague is leaving. Plus, I was feeling tired as I'd been working half the night before. Usually, this would have meant a cake-fest. However, I looked at the cakes, gave myself permission to have a slice of cake later if I wanted to - and then never did. Grin
Had some nice dinners this week:
M: stuffed cabbage casserole with buttered asparagus
T: omelette filled with smoked salmon, prawns and cream cheese, with a green salad
W: creamy chicken casserole with green beans
Tonight: beef curry is in the slow cooker, will have with cauli rice.
Monday and Wednesday's dinners were both from the DietDoctor website, I really like his recipes.
I've just been having creamy coffee for breakfast, I don't feel hungry for food until lunchtime anyway.
Lunch today is an omelette I made last night, which I will have cold with tuna mayo, spring onion and lettuce filling.

My goal for this bootcamp was to last until the end as I have never managed it before Blush. I'm starting to think that I will manage it.Smile
BIWI thinking ahead, when is the next BC likely to be? I'm still 1.5 - 2 stone from where I ultimately want to be, so obviously will be doing a few more BCs.
