Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

... which looks like it's going to have some fabulous results this morning! Well done Hesdeadjim. Flowers

Don't be discouraged if you haven't seen a loss - remember, weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for weight loss slowing down or even reversing.

Just make sure you're following Bootcamp rules - especially eating fat and drinking water - and beware of carb creep. It's very easy to think 'a bit' of this or 'a spoonful' of that won't make a difference - but it really does.

Hope everyone who is feeling unwell feels better soon Flowers

I bought myself a "fitbit" for £25 as a treat jim. I've always wanted a HR monitor for when I take my horse to the gallops but fitbits are so expensive. This £25 one seems to be exactly the same as fitbit and monitors most of the same things.

Met up with some friends last night after work for coffee. They had coffee and cake, I just had coffee with cream. I didn't miss the cake.

CaptainBraandPants · 04/03/2017 10:46

Morning all, just catching up.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes from earlier in the week. BIWI I'm obviously your son's twin apart from the fact I'm old enough to be his mother
On the cake issue, I had a 60g (small) piece of chocolate birthday cake. It had 25.9g of carbs in it. Shock It was...ok. I enjoyed it, but didn't think it was worth 25g of carbs. When I was away and treated myself to a big glass of Pinot Grigio, I reall, really enjoyed it and it felt worth the carbs. I'm going to try and stick with treats that I feel are worth it from now on.

Had a mad, hectic, tiring and emotional week with work. I'm at work today, but things seem to have settled down, so hopefully won't need to be here too long.
Something happened this week that has never happened before. I have weeks like this sometimes, although this was a particularly tough one, and I have had times when it has wrecked my eating and others when I have got though it and thought "phew, I got through that and avoided temptation" and felt really proud of myself.
However, this week, it wasn't an issue. I didn't even think about my eating. it just happened and I koko doing lchf without thinking about it, struggling or having any angst about it. I know I didn't drink enough and did make an effort to drink as much as I could within the limitations of work.
I hope i have explained what I mean coherently, but this seems a major breakthrough to me and makes me hope that this time I can keep this up long term. I don't know why this has happened this time and not before, but I'm not knocking it.

I'm going to catch up on the thread now and hope everyone is having a good week Flowers

Veryflummoxed · 04/03/2017 10:51

Yep Captain that sounds significant to me Smile

BursarsFrogs · 04/03/2017 11:04

I got waylaid by the eating disorder yesterday. Not totally surprising, as I've been a bit unwell and down for some days now, and still sleep deprived. Felt too "fat" to allow myself to eat anything during the day, and then ate too much (and too carby) in the evening. Was very hard not to purge, but I didn't, so I guess that's something.

Dusting myself off today. The scales weren't nice to me this morning, but I hope it's mostly bloating etc from last night. Writing a mealplan and doing shopping and eating my three meals today.

B: Greek yoghurt with some blueberries
L: Spinach omelette
D: Salmon, cream cheese sauce, salad
And some snacks if I feel like it.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 04/03/2017 11:19

That's good Bursar, not purging is a definite NSV!

I cracked last night too - two large glasses of prosecco and a packet of fudge. Thoroughly enjoyed it, planned it, allowed it...thumping headache and feel rough today. Didn't enjoy it that much.

So, there's a lesson learned, my body actually doesn't like sugar.

Hesdeadjim · 04/03/2017 11:46

Weekly food shop done, had the bassets in tow so it was a workout at the same time Blush

I did the shop without a supermarket again this week, I'm finding one of the benefits of this WOE is that I'm not buying anything I can't get at the butcher, Green grocer and delicatessens. I live about a 20 minute walk from the town centre (tiny little town) so instead of driving 2 minutes to the supermarket, I walk into town with the dogs with an empty rucksack and walk back with a full one Grin it's about 30% cheaper than the supermarket too! There's a few none food bits I can't get in town, so I'll pick those up tomorrow at Morrisons.

Stopped off for a cream coffee at a lovely little coffee shop this morning, and they brought out some frothed milk in little cups for the dogs and called them 'doggychinos' Hmm dogs loved it though Grin

As you can see, my fridge isn't fully LCHF yet because DP won't eat full fat mayo or butter, has about 10000 different sauces he loves and drinks Pepsi max, but slowly and surely I'm getting rid of 'comfort blanket' food we used to keep in 'just in case' and only buying what we'all actually eat. Another benefit of not going to supermarkets seems to be not browsing and picking up random stuff, I can't believe how much we used to do this Shock

I'd normally be knackered after the food shop, but I'm in full on tigger mode today so it's housework, then a lovely long walk with my mum this afternoon Grin

I've also been to wilko and bought and extortionate amount of new cushions and throws for the living room Blush whoops!

Hesdeadjim · 04/03/2017 11:47

Attach the photos Jim Hmm

That's really good Bursar. Sorry you've felt downFlowers

Oh those lovely dogs Jim. Saw a lady out walking two bassets the other morning and was tempted to say "hi Jim"

I've just had a lovely lunch. (When I wrote that last sentence autocorrect changed lovely to large amount, how well it knows me)
Two thin slices flaxseed bread topped with butter and mashed avocado and eggs. Leaves celery and olives on the side. A slug of olive oil.

Dinner will be pork chops and brocalli cauliflower.

BIWI · 04/03/2017 13:00

Sorry to hear you've been struggling, Bursar, but well done on resisting the purging. That sounds like a major victory to me!

.. as does yours, CaptainBraand!

Hesdeadjim - you do know that Elmlea isn't proper cream, don't you?! It's a processed version. Look for proper cream next time - it's much nicer!

BursarsFrogs · 04/03/2017 13:45

Thanks everyone. My own head obviously tells me off when I don't purge, so it's hard to keep in mind that it's a GOOD thing. :)

My post-shopping fridge isn't quite as exciting, as it's all just dragged home from Aldi. I don't have the patience to go round butchers and greengrocers, although there are nice ones nearby... (The Greek "style" yoghurts are DH's, as he likes them more than the "authentic" ones.)

A little whoosh over night puts me finally under 192lbs for the first time in 3 weeks after going up and down for ages. My sister is staying and she is LCHF too so we can keep each other on track.

Hesdeadjim · 04/03/2017 17:15

@BIWI Shock I didn't know that!! I've got jersey in, I'll throw the Elmlea away!

Hesdeadjim · 04/03/2017 17:16

Veryflummoxed if she was struggling, very fat and swearing a lot it was probably me!

Oh bugger. Went to see DD and her DP today who have just bought their first house! It is right close to an excellent fisheries (West Yorkshire). I had fish, but gave chips to DS and DH. Burned off the excess hopefully by spending hours traipsing round Ikea.

ragz134 · 05/03/2017 09:14

Another pound off overnight! After three weeks of struggling with the scales showing a gain or STS, it is so motivating to finally get the whoosh I have been waiting for! I am so glad I stuck with it.
I have been sticking to 2 meals a day (only snacks being a spoonful of peanut butter if I feel I need it). I am 1.2lbs off hitting my 10% target of 21lbs (I started LC 2nd January).

Hesdeadjim · 05/03/2017 09:22

ragz134 woohoo!! Have you lost half a stone a month or has it come in fits and starts?

BIWI · 05/03/2017 09:30

That's great ragz Flowers

OP posts:
ragz134 · 05/03/2017 09:44

I lost 14lbs in the first three weeks, then it really slowed down and started going up and down. I started the year at 210.8, have tried to add my graph, it doesn't show the first week but does show how up and down it has been!

nekobus · 05/03/2017 11:11

Well done ragz! I love a good weight loss chart Smile and a reminder that it's not going to be a straight line!

My scales are going in the right direction but I'm still heavier than my lowest on last bootcamp which is annoying but all my fault Blush I'll weigh and record tomorrow, fingers crossed I'm below this BC starting weight!!

CaptainBraandPants · 05/03/2017 11:52

Well done Ragz
I love the photos of fridges/ charts etc, so I want to join in. Here's mine - also up and down, but a definite downward trend. Grin
Looking forward to roast pork with crackling today, mmm.
Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow everyone. Flowers

Ignore the profiteroles, I won't be eating those. Grin

imustbepatient · 05/03/2017 16:33

Well done everyone in all the scale and non-scale victories!

I've had a really good weekend food-wise, including a dinner party at friends last night, where I had some of the pulled pork, green salad, and then coleslaw which I made (the recipe from the Bootcamp recipe thread with home-made chipotle mayo) and brought along a cheese board too with some low carb crackers I made. I then avoided the potato salad, bread rolls and gorgeous St Luciano rice dish, grapes and just had a tiny taste of the affagato pudding. Then out for lunch today at Nandos and had the chicken thighs with halloumi, avocado and portobello mushroom as sides. Really yum.

So I am feeling pretty pleased with all the choices I've made this weekend esp if you ignore the wine which I didn't duck quite so successfully and hope it shows on the scales a little next week.
