Morning all

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

... which looks like it's going to have some fabulous results this morning! Well done Hesdeadjim. Flowers

Don't be discouraged if you haven't seen a loss - remember, weeks 3 and 4 are notorious for weight loss slowing down or even reversing.

Just make sure you're following Bootcamp rules - especially eating fat and drinking water - and beware of carb creep. It's very easy to think 'a bit' of this or 'a spoonful' of that won't make a difference - but it really does.

Hesdeadjim oestrogen is stored with fat so when you lose weight (by any method, not just low carb) then it can cause a hormonal upset in the first cycle or two. Your body will adjust by downregulating the production of oestrogen. Most people find that any pre-menstrual, menstrual, or peri-menopausal symptoms improve once they've been low carbing for a couple of months.

Hesdeadjim · 27/02/2017 16:14

Food for today:
Breakfast: Protein shake made with almond milk (2g carb)

Lunch: Olives, sundried tomatoes, goats cheese and chorizo salad

Dinner: Duck breast with a blackberry port sauce and asparagus grin

Total cals: 1163
Fat: 70%
Carb: 9% (24g)
Protein: 21%

I'm so excited about dinner, i LOVE duck but it's a billion points on weight watchers so I haven't had it for yonks!

Hesdeadjim · 27/02/2017 16:17

StuntNun aaah perfect, that explains it then :) I've dropped pretty rapid weight for me so far so it could well be that.

I've had some pain killers and it's eased off quite a bit. I'm booked in to a kettle bell class tonight which I really don't want to miss, so I hope it behaves until after that!

Thank you :)

Veryflummoxed · 27/02/2017 16:30

Hesdeadjim your dogs should be starring in a movie. And changing the subject what is asparagus grin?

Well done all those losers and KOKO everyone else.

I'm down three pounds (two overall) so it seems my cutting down on dairy worked.

Could someone add me please

Hesdeadjim · 27/02/2017 16:32

haha typo! that was supposed to be asparagus Grin but I missed the square brackets Blush... long day!

thenightsky · 27/02/2017 16:34

Only lost 1lb this week. Not feeling too despondent though as it's still a downward trend.

wombattoo · 27/02/2017 17:06

Hello you lot.
There are some fabulous losses. Well done to everyone. For those who haven't had a loss, stick with it - it will come if you are sticking to the rules.
2lb off for me which is more than I deserve Grin
Stunt thank you for all your helpful posts. And the husks seem to be doing the trick Thanks

LazydaysofSummer · 27/02/2017 17:30

Another 2lb this week, which is great given I've not exactly been that good, but it's brilliant I can have my wine and still lose weight!

Patapouf · 27/02/2017 17:44

Well done to everyone Flowers and kudos to the pp who said they'd reached level 3 of shred, I could only ever manage the first level, and even then the easy version of each exercise.

2.8lbs off this week, which makes 10.2 so far this BC. I'm really pleased especially because my period seems to be lasting forever. An annoying side effect of bc coupled with the fact that I stupidly forgot a couple of pills last week.

I think my face is starting to look a bit slimmer, and I've had a couple of comments at work which is nice but I still have a very long way to go. When I get wifi back I will upload my weighloss graph. It started in 2015 so it's as spiky as a mountain range but at least it's heading in one direction now. Onward and downwards!

L: mozzarella di buffalo, couple of slices of prosciutto and mixed salad leaves w. Olive oil
D: chili and garlic prawns with more mixed salad. Would have been cauli rice but it smelled off. Stomach feels a bit funny and I'm hoping it's the spice that's triggered IBS rather than dodgy prawns.
S: planning on an exploded babybel or two when I get back from the gym.

Veryflummoxed · 27/02/2017 18:11

Lunch Chicken salad
Dinner belly pork, dressed leaves, avocado and celery.

SayrraT · 27/02/2017 18:44

I've lost 1lb this week which is fab, I seem to losing exactly the same weight as I did in 2014!

We have snow today!

Well done to all the losers Grin

ItsNotUnusualToBe · 27/02/2017 18:48

2lb off this week so 7lb in total. Am very happy with that. Am eating in a sustainable way. Could be a bit more bootcampish but 2lb a week is fantastic and I'm eating well AND coping with real life. I'm approx 80% compliant and the rest is only minor e.g. Coleslaw, small portion gravy with an otherwise en point dinner, occasional glass of wine, slightly carby salad dressing.

Am getting lots of people noticing my weight loss and my skin is almost perfect

Callmesausage · 27/02/2017 18:56

Not a bad day foodwise
B: coffee with cream, 2 babybel
L: ham salad with grated cheese, mayo
D: curry with yesterday's leftover beef, mushrooms, spinach, one small green pepper and sour cream
S: 5 olives

Hopefully nothing else today. Fantastic results ladies, well done

Hesdeadjim · 27/02/2017 19:04

Possibly the nicest thing I've ever cooked Grin

Duck breast with asparagus and a blackberry and port sauce - 17g carb in the whole thing :)

Week 4 - Spring Low Carb Bootcamp - our first month!
wombattoo · 27/02/2017 19:09

hesdead I'm not sure I'd like the sauce but the duck looks amazing. It's not something I have ever really eaten

blackteaplease · 27/02/2017 19:09

1lb off for me which I am happy with.

ooohsopink · 27/02/2017 19:09

Hello - opinion requested 😁

Has anyone tried celeriac spaghetti? I'm not keen on courgetti as it seems too wet, but celeriac is a little more starchy and I wondered if it was a good alternative?

Any advice greatly appreciated - thank you.

Btw - been on the BSD, and now in 5th week - have nearly lost a stone so far - feeling pleased with progress - yay!

SayrraT · 27/02/2017 19:14

jim I love duck so much! I also love that on this WOE I can eat the fat from OHs. If you have a lidl near you they sell amazing garlic duck breasts.

FinallyHere · 27/02/2017 19:16

I'm not weighing myself, but am noticing that my (smaller sized ) trousers are getting a little looser. Bra needs doing up on a smaller hook, too so its all good in my world. Im finding myself encouraged to do a bit of walking and yoga. And don't really feel hungry so am making meals a tad smaller, too. Hurrah.

Mostly, though, I am drinking water. 3.5l / day, just that pretty much keeps me busy, I'm either drinking or getting rid of it again. Pretty much full time: KOKO in progress.

Looneytune253 · 27/02/2017 20:36

Jeez if it's not one thing..... Now been told i have high cholesterol, ironically blood test was done before i started hflc so i dread to think what its like now. I live on eggs and cheese the last few weeks.

wombattoo · 27/02/2017 20:44

Looney I think you need to ask for a breakdown of your cholesterol results. There are good and bad. I'm sure Stunt or BIWI will be along to explain it.

SummerSazz · 27/02/2017 21:27

Posted on other thread before this one popped up. -2 this week and -10 overall (week 7).

Did lots of running last week and shredded a few times so would like to see it come off a bit quicker but I shall plod on.

L3 shred at 6am but pretty sedentary day at work.

BIWI · 27/02/2017 21:53

If you've been low carbing, chances are your cholesterol levels will have improved!

And there should be three measurements for you, not just one - there are two types of LDL cholesterol and then there's HDL.

You also might want to read up on cholesterol levels - the advice for women to lower their cholesterol isn't necessarily good!

You might want to read this piece by Zoe Harcombe about cholesterol

And this one

And certainly if you're pushed to take statins, beware. Have a read of this

Lucy7400 · 27/02/2017 22:55

I would recommend watching Statin Nation about cholesterol as well.

rosesandcashmere · 27/02/2017 23:58
