Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Can someone add my weight to the spreadsheet (iphone user) 10 stone 10 or 150lbs thanks :)

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 19/01/2016 12:54

Just had a thought - you all know about microwaving babybel cheeses, don't you?

I was just peckish, so got one out and microwaved it for 1min 15sec on full (800W mw) - perfect! Big exploded puffy babybel crisp. Yum! (Not for daily consumption, but fine for a peckish snack now and then)

DartmoorDoughnut · 19/01/2016 13:12

Thumb you have the best recipes!

Doing ok again today although had a coffee this morning without thinking as husband had made it

LexLoofah · 19/01/2016 13:16

Great to see losses already and everyone feeling positive, lots of yummy sounding meals

b - Brie, buttery scr eggs
L - chicken and egg drop soup with fatty hm chick stock
D - fish pie with cauli mash top and buttery broccoli

Saw two flavours of cauli rice in sainsburys today and low carb rice made from Konjac which presumably is as rank as the noodles. Tbh not missed rice at all in the year I have been LCHF and at £2 per tiny packet I'll stick with making my own cauli rice as freezes so well anyway

DartmoorDoughnut · 19/01/2016 13:16

Oh and doing BIWI's salmon recipe from the first page for dinner, can't wait!

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 13:19

Ijustwanttobeme don't know if it's too late but red cabbage is moderate carbs (4.4g/100g) but is typically cooked in apple or arrange juice or has stewed apples /raisins/ cranberries etc added. If it's just plain a little should be ok but I'd check with the chef how it has been prepared.

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 13:29

milkmilk felicity passata is just seived tomatoes - typically 4-5g (or there abouts) per 100g carbs it's slightly higher than just tomato because in processing you lose some fibre from the skin/ seeds etc so the there is more tomato flesh in 100g of passata than in 100g of fresh tomato. Tinned tomatoes vary, because there can be additives but if you get a good brand you get more of the natural state (with seeds, stalks etc) so you can get them around 3.3g/100g. I prefer to use Passata for easiness and because it thickens sauces well.

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 13:30

*orange not arrange Hmm

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 13:32

Today:

Coffee with cream
2 egg omelet with chicken, 3 cherry toms and a small shallot in butter and olive oil with a little cheddar
Dinner will be some sort of chicken curry

StuntNun · 19/01/2016 13:34

Melinda if you're hungry then eat. It takes a while for your body to fully adapt to burning fat. In the meantime you may need to snack more often.

Jerm cream cheese pancakes are nice (if a bit eggy) and don't need any sweetener. I put butter on mine.

Chester the reason for limiting BPCs to one a day is because they are very calorific but nutrient-poor. Nigella you don't have to go for the official BPC recipe unless you want to. I use decaf coffee, coconut oil and salted butter in mine. A teaspoon of double cream makes it even better IMO.

Simon how about some double cream in your yoghurt? I like the cheapo Lidl Greek-style yoghurt more than the Fage version.

FelicityFunknickle · 19/01/2016 13:56

Thanks Gkalske
I think I will make a batch of regular ragu for everyone else and stick to ultra low carb for me for the first 2 weeks of bootcamp.
Today so far I've had about a pint of water, a mug of green tea and for brunk 2 hard boiled eggs and a thingymajig coffee.
Making risotto for dcs and dh tonight so having caulirice in coconut oil with some leftover chicken. Surprised I don't really feel hungry tbh.

Jerm123 · 19/01/2016 13:58

I have an nespresso coffee machine, it was a Christmas present from my Mum who is very precious about coffee and hated mine when she visited I know the capsules are expensive, but the coffee is delicious and quick. It has a froth on the top, which makes it as nice as lattes. If I can just get used to no sugar....

With cream, the coffee beats Starbucks, Costa et al.

BIWI · 19/01/2016 13:59

Felicity - what on earth did you post that then had to be deleted?! Grin

Butter stirred into coffee is the absolute bomb. I love it. Going to ask DH to pick up some coconut oil from the suprmarket though, I've always fancied it!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 19/01/2016 14:22

Konjac rice is like much shorter noodles. It's not as good as the noodles, to be frank - I prefer cauli rice.

The thing I've learnt with konjac is you HAVE to really really wash it well to get rid of the funny smelling solution it comes in. REALLY well. And mix it in with a nicely strong-flavoured sauce. I don't mind the squeaky texture of it so much. And my 2 boys are always asking to have some of mummy's "worms" instead of their normal pasta, so it can't be that bad! Grin

I'm just warning anyone with digestive issues to be careful with konjac, it's nearly all fibre. It can give you the mega bungs. I thought I was dying. Lots and lots and lots of water and a small serving advised.

FelicityFunknickle · 19/01/2016 16:34

Grin BIWI

I posted a question here rather than the question thread Blush so asked for it to be removed.

Wombatinabathhat · 19/01/2016 17:13

Equiem I've added you to the spreadsheet.

B: 2 hard boiled eggs
L: curry
D: Pork stirfry

I've had bean sprouts thanks DH Off to check the tabs because I seem to remember they are a bit controversial

Wombatinabathhat · 19/01/2016 17:15

No, thanks goodness the beansprouts were ok Grin

Engelbert · 19/01/2016 17:23

FeeKerry, this is it [http://www.twinings.co.uk/tea/green-tea/salted-caramel-indulgence-green-tea-20-envelopes tea]. Was in my local not particularly big supermarket so you can probably get most places. I thought I could have it when kids are having hot choc, as a treat. 0.2g carbs per 100g but tasted quite sweet to me after 3 weeks on low carb!

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 17:36

That tea sounds amazing. I love the buttermint and the Assam with chocolate /hazelnut (both twinings) too. I just found out that sukrin are selling coconut flour which is only 9g/100g in tesco. Will be getting some for BC lite.

MollyRedskirts · 19/01/2016 17:48

I have just realised tomatoes aren't that low-carb. Oops.

Is there a list of all the veg that is under 3g carb per 100g? I do remember seeing it on a thread but I can't find it. I don't mean the veg carb counter on the spreadsheet, for I have a simple brain and need a list of all the veg I should be concentrating on.

Can anyone help please?
