Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

Thanks!

Does anyone have any reccomendations for bathroom scales? Really need to get some!

feekerry · 20/01/2016 16:48

I made the Parmesan crisp things today. They were incredible

alicewhatsthematter · 20/01/2016 17:13

Just catching up.

I actually ate mostly bootcamp last week, and lost 5lbs by Sunday, so was quite pleased.

Meals for this week:

Monday 18/1
2 slices smoked salmon rolled with full fat cream cheese, 1 avocado
2 chicken thighs, spinach, butter
salmon fillet, cauli cheese (cream, cheddar, mozarella, leek and bacon bits), roast kate with olive oil
snack 2 slices maasdam cheese, 2 slices chorizo, bag of pork scratchings

Tues
2 slices smoked salmon rolled with full fat cream cheese, 1 avocado
sausage ragout leftovers (2 low carb saus, peppers, 1/4 onion, 1/4 tin toms), spinach, celeriac chips
chilli (10% fat beef mince, 1/4 onion, peppers, chilli peppers, even removed kidney beans from my portions) with cauli rice (oven roast with olive oil)
and guacamole (home made avocado, sour cream, jalapenos, garlic, lime, 5 cherry toms between 4 portions)
snack bag of pork scratchings

Wed
2 eggs scrambled with double cream, 2 tablespoons bacon lardons, 3 mushrooms fried with the bacon and bit of butter
chiili leftovers from last night, dollop of sour cream, dollop of full fat cream cheese
snack bag of pork scratchings
2 low carb chorizo sausages, cauli cheese leftovers, sprouts

Wombatinabathhat · 20/01/2016 17:34

CrownofStars I've added you to the spreadsheet at 184lbs

BIWI · 20/01/2016 17:38

Tom These are the ones I have

They work on carpet, which was the main reason I got them. They seem to be fine!

Other sets will analyse fat levels, but it was more important for me to get ones I could use in the bathroom, on the carpet, and get an accurate weight reading.

You were quite pleased?! I would have been delighted! Especially if you weren't completely doing Bootcamp!

Checking in!
B: pork belly slice fried in butter
L: slices of beef, Brussels, chicken thighs (skin on), celery and full fat cream cheese
D: cod in creamy parsley sauce and lots of low carb veggies

alicewhatsthematter · 20/01/2016 17:43

BIWI you're right, and I am pleased, but I've also been doing dry January, and had expected to drop loads off by not consuming, er, cough, a glass or two of wine a night...

just hope it continues!

Breakfast. Greek yoghurt.
Lunch. 3x homemade egg and veg muffins. Carrot sticks.
Snack. Babybel.
Dinner. Prawn and veg stir fry. With courgette noodles.

Lots of water.

Equiem89 · 20/01/2016 18:34

Definitely will be having an early night!
Will add some salt to my dinner. Guessing the headache is due to lack of salt, been weeing all day!

VagueIdeas · 20/01/2016 18:44

Can I ask about carb counts on soft cheeses, etc? Checked full fat Philadelphia and it's 4g per 100g. I try to keep everything below 3g at all times, but is that too literal? Do you relax a little after switching to BC lite?

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 20/01/2016 18:50

An oxo cube might help if the salt doesn't equiem

Breakfast: 3 eggs scrambled
Lunch: Omlette wuth cheese and ham filling
Tea: chicken in gravy with roast winter veg. Had to leave some of the veg as had too much on my plate

Feeling shocking but that is physio related not bootcamp

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 20/01/2016 18:52

The smartprice one i use is under 3g. Branded stuff has a tendancy to add extra sugar to everything!

Gcalgske · 20/01/2016 19:32

Agree with beyond, I use Aldi own brand cream cheese and it's super cheap and low carb - 2.6g/100g

Food today:

B: creamy coffee, water, supplements
L: ff lidl yoghurt with flax, cream, a little SF dessicated coconut and like oil.
D: baked feta with shallot and tomato, olive oil, 1/2 a medium aubergine baked in slices to scoop up cheese.

Lots of water.

Really dairy heavy day (but had nothing else in except feta for tea). Tomorrow will be better.

BIWI · 20/01/2016 19:37

VagueIdeas - that's pretty low. However, bear in mind that during Bootcamp as well as keeping our carbs low, we're also supposed to get them from veg and salad as far as possible - which is why hard cheese is better.

Of course, it also depends on the quantity you're going to consume! 100g of soft/cream cheese is quite a lot!

And definitely agree with the others - check out supermarket carb counts.

B-omelette with a bit of cheddar
L-cauliflower cheese (I made far too much, have finally eaten the last of it, 3 days in a row is just boring!)
D-salmon with spinach and swede french fries
S-2 microwaved babeybels - they were SO good!

DartmoorDoughnut · 20/01/2016 20:34

Oh and 3&1/2 litres of water

VagueIdeas · 20/01/2016 20:56

Thanks for the supermarket own brand suggestion - I'll shop around. I usually avoid soft cheese when LCing, but variety being the spice of life and all that, I was thinking about new things I could have for lunch.

RomiiRoo · 20/01/2016 21:10

Five lbs is excellent Alice.

I can't read the food, I feel hungry! I have cut out the nibbling, even though I thought it was not much I am noticing its absence. Probably need to start trying to get the water up - all the things which used to be ingrained habits.

On the plus side, I went to Lidl to stock up and ended up buying a willow tree for my gardenGrin. The lady at the garden centre had recommended precisely that kind for the soil I have, but I spend too much on plants. This was a bargain. Gardening is supposed to raise your mood, that is my excuse!

Hi to Lex hope you are well and used to British weather again.

lavenderhoney · 20/01/2016 21:39

Romiiroo, thank you - I've not tried mindfulness on purpose iyswim, I find it impossible to escape during yoga ( gave up even at home) but I'll have a look.

Coffee and cream today, and an uncooked babybel then omlette with mushrooms and Camembert for supper, plus 2 litres of water. My DS had to fast this morning so it was to keep him company.

I feel slimmer but the scales don't agree, sadly. Perhaps by Monday:) and an early night for me too.

momofgirls · 20/01/2016 21:51

Week 1 day 3

B Two egg scramble with cream. coffee with cream
D Tuna, avocado, lettuce, cucumber, spring onion, tomatoes x2 (medium)
Mayo
Coffee with cream
Baby bel x 2
Water

Missing the treats but keen to continue and see the results.
Family had stew tonight but had potatoes in so gave it a miss.

CrownofStars · 20/01/2016 23:28

Thank you Wombat. 😊
After extensive reading today I've found there are lots of things that I've eaten that aren't allowed on Bootcamp so starting properly tomorrow. So much info though, it's amazing. I really wish I'd found this weeks ago.
