Morning all!

I see we have almost 90 brave souls signed up this time. Welcome everyone, and to the lurkers at the back.

Here is the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

The list is alphabetised, and all you need to do is to add your weight next to your name. Don't do anything else or touch any of the other cells! If your name isn't on the list for any reason, add it to the bottom of everyone else's names, and the lovely Sayrra will re-alphabetise the list later.

If you don't want to put your actual weight, you can index it - i.e. your starting weight is 100, and every pound you lose is one. So if you started today at 160 lbs, and in the first week lost 7lbs, then next week you'd enter 93.

Also, don't feel that you have to weigh today - you might prefer to make another day of the week your weigh-in day. Up to you - but the spreadsheet is there as a resource to help you track how it's all going.

Re weighing, if you can, weigh first thing in the morning, naked, and before you eat or drink anything else. Don't weigh later on in the day, as all you're doing is weighing yourself plus whatever you've had to eat or drink. And use the same scales. Remember, it's not the actual weight that the scales tell you, more the weight that you've lost that counts.

Some people prefer to weigh every day - I'm one of them, as it helps to keep me focused - and some prefer to weigh once a week. It's up to you which you prefer. Bear in mind, though, that if you weigh every day you are very likely to see the scales fluctuate, which means that they may go up for no apparent reason. This is totally normal, as your weight can fluctuate on a daily basis (especially if your period is due). But psychologically it can be quite difficult - so if you don't think you'd be able to cope with this, then weekly weighing is for you.

I'm going to start a questions thread now as well. In the first few weeks of Bootcamp the chat thread can move very quickly, and it's easy for posts to get missed - so if you have a particular burning question, it's probably best to post it on the dedicated thread. And if we can all keep an eye on the questions thread, rather than just me, we can get everything answered quickly!

jerm without the red wax Grin
I may or may not have introduced thumb to them in a previous BC, you can do it with pretty much any hard cheese. I find a 6 hole silicon muffin tin really good, chop 2 baby bel into three and place a 3rd in each muffin hole and microwave until crisp - they are great.

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 22:48

momofgirls what is in the garlic sauce? Could you have oily dressing instead?

Gcalgske · 19/01/2016 22:51

nate dairy is supposed to be limited in first two weeks but a slurp or two should be ok. Maybe add some mayo to the lunch to up fat intake? X

ami9 · 20/01/2016 00:48

Food today
2 boiled eggs, cheese string, black coffee for breakfast.
Lamb chops fried in egg and butter with mixed veg
2 cup tea
Chicken kebabs with cheese and yoghurt, cucumber plis half tomatoe

Off to bed so drained.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 20/01/2016 01:06

Yes, definitely without the red wax! And make sure you microwave it on a non-plastic plate (made that mistake once, the plate has never recovered! hot cheese is VERY hot).

Einstein'smum - good idea but what I neeeeeded was crispy explodedness. Like a wotsit, sort of. Without the MSG, obvs.

I think I have a carb-withdrawal headache. Could just be lack of sleep, or pre-storm, or all 3 in fact. Not nice though - are we allowed to take drugs (nurofen)?

Had brunch today - couldn't get going in time to call it breakfast! - was butter-fried bacon bits (ah, hang on, that could be the reason for the headache :( ) with mushrooms and scrambled eggs, and a grating of cheddar on top. Very nice. But I shouldn't eat pig :(

Paleogirl · 20/01/2016 02:40

Marking place. Thanks BIWI

ICJump · 20/01/2016 05:11

Loving being back in boot camp. I'm snacking on pate and carrot sticks. I even did some baking withDS1 and skipped the bowl licking in favour of the pate.

Today's intake has been on the high side but DS2 is permanently latched at the moment.
B scrambled eggs with salad and mayo 2 coffees with double cream
A mayo and cream cheese dip with carrots and a small flat white
L left over pan friend veggies with two lamb cutlets
A pâté and carrots
D will be gado gado ( chicken, boiled eggs, fresh veggies and satay sauce ) thought it's a good one to set up left overs for a few days. I've found a brand of peanut butter which is only the peanuts plus the ciconut cream
Is pretty high fat.

RomiiRoo · 20/01/2016 06:25

Late signee upper here. I was doing fine with maintaining, but am in the midst of clinical depression and the weight is creeping back up... I don't need this, as it took me a year to shift the weight I wanted to lose, and I felt better for it. So I am coming back to you lovely ladies for some bootcamp goodness. I need to lose about half a stone this bootcamp (carbs are not my friend, even the smallest amount has bad results; I'm not making unhealthy food choices, but it is portion size, carb creep and being home more than normal).

So, a late starter and I will do BC for several weeks, rather than going to BC lite. I don't eat meat any more, but do still eat fish, so I am guessing high fat fish will do. I also need exercise. I need to re-acquaint myself with the rules, having been off the BC threads for a few months due to workload issues.

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 20/01/2016 07:07

Welcome back Romii :)

I need to go on a hunt for some paté that doesn't contain pork or chicken (neither are my friend). I'm in Australia though, so it's not going to be easy. I do love paté when it's the right sort though. Maybe I need a recipe instead, is it easy to make?

Equiem89 · 20/01/2016 07:07

So yesterday I was 10st10 and today I'm 10st 7 woohoooo I know it's only water weight but it's so encouraging Grin

lavenderhoney · 20/01/2016 07:21

Thumbs babybel sounds like a delicacy:) I had a bit of left over Brie which had gone a bit hard a few weeks ago, so I microwaved it- it was awesome:)

Didn't drink enough water yesterday but will today. I've upped my exercising too but I went to bed late which isn't good for LC I seem to remember. I'm also incredbly stressed and worried which isn't helping either.

The only cheerful thing so far is I don't feel hungry. I sat in a meeting yesterday next to a man eating sweets and chocolate all day. Didn't succumb and I had a salad I took in from home as I knew it would be a carb fest for lunch and it was!

DrDiva · 20/01/2016 07:34

So a reeeeally thick question Blush do you peel the babybel before microwaving?

thumb the one time I made pate it nearly turned me vegetarian Envy someone must have an easier recipe though!

ChesterDrawers · 20/01/2016 07:41

Some great results and lovely positivity already, keep going everyone. I'm out for lunch today but think I've picked well. Going to Coal, which is a grill type place so hopefully lots of choice without having to be too awkward.

B: eggs in butter
L: out - yum!
D: salmon in Parma ham, roast broccoli, swede chunks roast in olive oil

mustbemad71 · 20/01/2016 07:59

Loving this thread - thanks again to our leaders!

Went out for dinner last night - had Halloumi and Chorizo tapas to start then sea bass with more chorizo tried to avoid butter beans and onions in the sauce. It was hard watching the rest if the fam tuck into steak and chips and loads of wine! Stuck to fizzy water and feel like a swot this morning - plus no hangover or bloated feeling! Love this WOE. Grin

Beef ragu with courgetti tonight I think. Have a great day everyone!

BIWI · 20/01/2016 08:00

Welcome back, Romi - sorry to hear you've been suffering.

ICJump beware of the carrots as they're pretty high carb and you're eating a lot of those.

Thumb - if you can, take paracetamol or aspirin instead of ibuprofen (Nurofen) - apparently ibuprofen can impede weight loss

Yesterday for me:

B - yoghurt and double cream
L - cheese, parma ham, rocket salad and tomato with vinaigrette
D - 'burgers' made from turkey mince, grated courgette, cumin, chilli and an egg, pan fried in olive oil and then baked in the oven; served with roasted cauliflower, yellow pepper and onion (in plenty of EVOO)

I've come to realise something that I've suspected for a while, that dairy really doesn't do me any favours, so I'm going to drop the yoghurt once the pots have finished.

I'm working from home today, so will be able to fit in a cardio gym session at lunchtime - my aim is to do at least three gym sessions a week if I can. I see my trainer twice a week and then am trying to add at least one cardio session (specialist gym/cardio training) if I can. Each of the cardio sessions measure how many calories you burn, and on average for me this is around 400 cals per session, so that should help things move along!

mustbemad you could have had the steak though! Don't be afraid in a restaurant to ask them to substitute something for what you want - I regularly order steak but ask for a salad instead of chips/potatoes. I've never yet found a restaurant that won't oblige.

Good Morning☺ I am feeling pretty good today. I feel yesterday was tough but today feel energetic. Breakfast 2 boiled eggs with tea and cheese string.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 20/01/2016 08:19

Morning all :)

Need to do some food shopping, so today may be tough!! Grin

BPC for breakfast, bolognese with courgetti and cheese for lunch, and atm sweet fa for dinner!!

Gcalgske · 20/01/2016 08:21

For the love of your poor microwaves please please please peel the babybel! Wink you'll be cleaning for weeks if you don't. Think hot melted wax exploding onto the inside, not a good thing.

Another tip with the cheese in the micro is to use an oiled plate if you don't have silicon, I some times microwave a bit of peperoni till crisp and then do the cheese in the lovely spiced oil (but obviously caution advised with the pepperoni as its processed)!

Thumb one of my favourite pates is fish - smoked trout or salmon trimmings and cream cheese. I'll try to find my recipe. Super simple and very very good.

Gcalgske · 20/01/2016 08:24

Hi romi waves

Gcalgske · 20/01/2016 08:31

thumb I've popped a link to a recipe on the recipes page. Although it's not much of a recipe just add fish, cream cheese, lemon and blitz. I've used smoked salmon , smoked Trout, hot smoked salmon, fresh salmon etc, all worked beautifully. Recipie will be good for quantities to get you started.

BeyondBootcampsAgain · 20/01/2016 08:40

Well, wax is high fat, so surely bc appropriate... Wink

YesEinsteinsMumDid · 20/01/2016 08:44

I have a question about fruit tea. best here or on questions thread?

BIWI · 20/01/2016 08:57

There's also a recipe for mushroom pate on the Recipe thread, Thumb - super easy and very tasty
