Ok so I started a wk early to ease myself in gently but I'm having a chinese with some friends on the weekend, any ideas what I can have which won't take me too far off course?

Thanks guys

My DP usually orders a Foo Yung (omlette) some chop suey (beansprouts) and ribs/meat & veg dishes, trying to steer clear of anything too sweet and saucy.

IMO all the best bits of Chinese are the crispy bits, so I'd almost rather go without than have a LC Chinese, but there are things that are definitely better than others, so given that you're early and easing yourself in, you should be fine! Enjoy.

Crispy seaweed is probably pretty good as a bit of texture, it does usually have a bit of sugar sprinkled on it, but you can shake it off Smile

Singapore noodles or vermicelli. Quite dry and wok-fried rather than deep-fried. Tofu dishes with veg and boiled rice
