Eeeeek!

The Spreadsheet of Fabulousness is here along with The Weight Tracker

Here's to another good week.

Four weeks left, including this one, so chance to lose up to half a stone if you're really focused!

I'm glad to see that we're all thinking about Christmas and how we're going to deal with it. My own personal problem is that I find it too easy to let things slide - well, I've already had that, so I may as well have this as well - and before I know it, I've scarfed chocolates and eaten a sandwich and start to eye up the pasta as well ...

Other people are much easier to deal with than yourself! Grin

Anyway, I have one social event this week to negotiate, but other than that all should be manageable.

Hope you all have a good and successful week Flowers

Just a quick one because I am on my phone. Sorry to anyone who feels ignored/unsupported. It is hard to respond to everyone though I do try but sometimes I am not sure what to say as I don't know the answer. pisses like others have said I look to you as an inspiration and didn't really realise that you might need support as well. Thank you for letting us know, is better than you staying quiet and leaving the thread. We need inspiration like you around.

Was away for work and really happy with my meal choices. I had poached salmon and prawn salad for dinner and cooked breakfast this morning. Luckily the venue forgot the biscuits after the meeting last night so didn't need to avoid them Grin

Yeah, im fine, just have a dopey body that seems to like fainting! Worst thing is though, feeling under the weather makes me crave crappy food.

Rybka I found that once I had been strictly gluten free for awhile my tolerance to even tiny amounts was almost nil. It only takes a few crumbs now to make me ill for 2 or 3 days. For me its really worth the effort and I don't miss things like bread so much anymore. I never have the gluten free alternatives (even when I wasn't LC) as the ingredient panels read like a chemistry book!

Respectful bow to weightloss king Pisses

Beyond that sounds awful, I hope you're on the mend

I was really down yesterday about regaining all but one of the measly 4lb I've managed to lose this BC, but felt better for being very proactive at lunch: on a course with a carb smorgasboard provided, so said I wanted a bit of fresh air and walked down the road to a café where they made me a lovely omelette and salad. Much nicer.

And I have a new theory, prompted by stuntnun 's talk of macros: what if I've been eating all the right things in all the wrong quantities? I don't think I've been having 75% fat. Will try to up the fat and reduce the protein, but if anyone has tips for doing that without much dairy I'm all ears...

Morning all. The whoosh fairy still seems to be here. Which means that as of this morning I've now lost 2 stone since starting my first bootcamp last September. Actually, I've lost 3 or 4. But I've taken the, er, scenic route...

For me, the big big difference between this and the many many other diets I've been on is that when I fall off the wagon I can get back on again. Previously, each year I would go on a diet, loose 1-1.5 stone then fall off the end and but back on 1/2 stone more than I lost. Then the following year I'd do the same thing all over again. And ageing the next year. And the next year.

But with this woe I've lost, slacked, then got back going before I reached my previous starting weight, if you see what I mean.

I now have 3 targets - firstly, to loose 2 more lb to get under the best stone (May be a while coming as I've lost so much in the last fortnight), secondly to loose another 8lb to get to my lowest weight in 5 years and finally to always weigh less than I did this time last year! (Obviously, loosing the 5/6/7 stone I am still overweight would be quite nice too, but that's too far away to be an achievable goal).

Have a good day loosers - I'm off to work!!!

Pork scratchings or BPCs Mo. And put butter or mayo on everything!

Report
BIWI · 12/11/2014 07:17

Mo - fattier cuts of meat too; look out for them rather buying what's usually on offer

Beyond - are you eating properly? I'm worried if you're fainting that you're depriving yourself of something vital. What about your sodium/magnesium/potassium (i.e. your electrolytes?) so salt - in and on food - salmon, avocado, spinach and natural full fat yoghurt

Well done toomuch. I have just set myself the same target, to weigh less than I did the year before. My date is mid December. I will need to keep going to make it this year but it is very important to me. I need to keep my weight down for health reasons. This thread has been very important to me so thank you everyone. Another pound off this morning. Beyond, I hope you are feeling better.

Hope you're feeling a bit better Beyond

I'm I the same boat as you Mo, I think since I cut back on dairy my fat has reduced a lot too. Going to make a concerted effort today.

Plan is:

B: eggs, butter, BPC
L: chicken, ham and egg fried 'rice' with shrooms and leeks all in lots of butter (is soy sauce ok carb wise?)
Aft: another BPC
D: salmon, swede mash with butter, asparagus fried in, yes, you guessed it, more butter Grin

I'm feeling very anxious at the minute as it's DS's birthday weekend approaching and I have such a lot to do and no time to do it in. We've got family coming to the house for a party and a big thing in the church hall for 30 kids. I've got to make the birthday cake, about a million fairy cakes, food for both parties, clean the house from top to bottom, shop for parties and pack as we are going away for a few days on Sunday. Why did we not just hire the soft play like last year? Usually I'd turn to junk food, as a comfort and as a quick fix, but I can't do that this year and I think that's adding to my anxiety. Oh yeah, plus AF is due and I'm never great around that time of the month.

Roll on Sunday is all I can say!

Beyond out of curiosity do you tend to have lower -low bp?

Report
BeyondTheLimits · 12/11/2014 08:44

Yup it has been low, i also have a very erratic pulse. I have dysautonomia, possibly POTS, caused by my ehlers danlos. Its not officially diagnosed by the specialist yet though, just a regular cardiologist.

Beyond i am glad you feeling better eating lc, it is not funny to faint and injure yourself Flowers
BestIsWest well done losing an inch, it is disheartning not to see amazing weight loss so measuring waist can be uplifting!
Best and Miffy this gluten thing is like a new amazing discovery to me. So many years of diarrhoea, bloats (sorry for details) and in the same time getting fatter and fatter and now is like new life. Stupidly I assumed if tests are negative I can eat grains. I agree that gluten free products are as bad as any processed food. My mil is coeliac and when I see her eating all that cardboard mixed with Mendeleev table...
Mo I add coconut oil to eggs and rosted meats and curry and wherever I can and drink my lazy version of bullet proof coffee. Black coffe from simple cafetiere and spoon of oil. Shocking when started but now I am looking forward. Stops cravings, hunger and moisturises lips Grin
Apparently there was a reserch showing that fat individuals not doing anything else but eating 30g of coconut oil daily were losing belly fat and inches of waists due to medium chain triglicerydes. That is my main problem area so I am a devoted follower haha

I've been the same Toomuch and its such a relief not to go through the constant weight increase isn't it? This WOE seems to completely alter the way you eat so that even during a difficult spell its much harder to eat the wrong stuff. I still have spells of wanting chocolate etc but on the occasions when I give in to the temptation I just don't have the capacity to eat enough to do damage! Grin I amaze myself! I used to demolish 200gr bars of chocolate in one sitting and now I feel a bit ikky after half one of those Moser Roth 20gr bars! I used to be food obsessed and its very liberating not to be worrying about what to have at the next meal.Smile Mini targets are definitely the way forward. Keep it achievable.

Interesting Rybka. We invested in some body fat scales and I've noticed that Hubs visceral fat has gone down since I started using more coconut oil for cooking. He doesn't know of course as hes an ex SW consultant. Grin Don't know about mine as I was using coconut oil myself for ages before we got the new scales.

I must have been gluten intolerant for years. I used to get the most horrendous mouth ulcers. Big crops of them and far more painful than they sort you get if you bite your lip. I had investigations for things like herpes and various other blood disorders but no-one, either doc or dentist, ever mentioned gluten. It was the first thing to go when I went on the exclusion diet. I've since read that it is a well know symptom so it amazes me that I get blank stares when I've mentioned it at the docs! As I said before, I didn't get the gut troubles until after I had been clear of it for awhile but now even a trace will give me awful stomach pains. It affects my joints too and makes my VPS worse.

Labelling is much better these days so you should find it fairly easy to avoid. Watch out for cross-contamination at home. I have my own butter pot to stop DH and DSs getting crumbs in it. (Slobs!)

Thanks Bird for the recipe. I know it isn't bc so i wont be having it, but dh wants to LC but would never cope with BC Grin

Interesting to read the info about gluten intolerance, I am actually coeliac and my understanding miffy is that mouth ulcers are a fairly well known symptom. I certainly don't feel ill/ dizzy etc after eating gluten, but I would say that a gluten intolerance could do that, cause that is more like an allergic reaction than an auto immune response IYKWIM?

Anyway just catching up, have been really ill since Saturday with the worst sinus infection I've ever had, about 4 hours sleep for the first 3 days, hardly eaten anything but still trying to stick to the plan. Did have one slice of toast and a glass of milk last night as I had really bad cramps from all the meds and I hadn't really eaten, and DH panicked when he saw me sitting on the floor of the kitchen moaning and made the toast/ milk for me as it's his go to snack for those with a sore tum!

Despite eating fuck all and being really good last week, I only dropped 1 lb on Monday but I figure that will balance out as I recover.

Hi to everyone, will catch up again soon.

Hope you soon feel better goinginto. At least DH fed you. I'm lucky to get a glass of water! Grin

I was rather cross when I realised how well known mouth ulcers were as a symptom and I'd been suffering for years. Not so many resources then for finding stuff out for yourself so I just had to take their word for gospel.

I've never had dizzy spells due to gluten but I think the wheat allergy is a slightly different mechanism which is why I wondered about it being wheat and not necessarily gluten. Gluten seems to affect epithelial tissue rather than causing the more usual allergy symptoms.

Hopefully you will drop a bit more weight as you pick up. Sometimes its a survival response and we are geared to preserving weight/fluid at times of stress or illness. That's why people are often disappointed after a bout of D&V to find they have STS or even gained!
