Morning all! Sorry for later-than-usual start to the thread

Hope last week was good, and that you have managed to keep to it despite the fact that we are in the infamous weeks 3 and 4!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

or on the on the Weight Tracker

If you haven't seen the scales move, don't panic!

This is really, really common - keep on keeping on and from here on, hopefully things will start to move again. And you will know that every pound you lose from here on, will be fat. You are only likely to see losses of 1-2lbs every week, but don't forget how much a pound of fat is - imagine 2 packs of lard, and that's what you're losing for each pound!

Hi mo I am not an expert but have you tried cutting out dairy at all, I notice that nearly everyday you have cream, even if you've not had it in your meals you've had a couple of coffees with cream.

If you haven't tried to cut it out before then maybe that would help, I think everything else looks ok. Plenty of fat, plenty of water, plenty of vegetables.

MrsHP I got them all from Next, I know some people say Next jeans are made for funny shaped people but I love them...maybe I am just a funny shape! I'll get OH to take a picture later and let you see. I'll also show you the picture of the size 18s I had to buy which are in fact smaller than the 16s!! Grin

prettybird · 24/10/2014 16:24

Been having a good week: drinking plenty of water (TMI alrtert: my pee is a nice light colour Grin) and not nibbling so much (even of LC approved stuff). I've been doing the Shred too - and am currently showing 2lb down on Monday! I'll be happy if I can maintain that until weigh-in on Monday! Dinner at Dad's the night before might be a challenge

So far today:
B: 2 boiled eggs
L: left-over creamy chicken and chorizo (one drumstick plus sauce)
D: will be cold meats plus coleslaw, to get my veg intake up plus a glass or two of Cava
Snacks: so far, only 2 brazil nuts (immediately post exercise) and a square of dark chocolate.
Water/herbal teas: 2.2litres (including a rooibos with a teaspoon of coconut oil)

I was very pleased with myself last night: dh asked if I wanted wine and I said No so he went and got a bottle of rose, which he knows I don't like.

MrsHerculePoirot · 24/10/2014 17:29

Ooooh would love pictures! What sort of body shape are you? I am going to need new jeans in a few weeks time at this rate, and would like some to go inside boots for rainy days, hence my nosiness!!!

SayraT · 24/10/2014 17:54

I think I am an apple MrsHP

I'll get the pictures up soon, waiting on OH to get home, I don't have a mirror in a suitable place to take photos of myself!

The jeans I got are very comfortable, I've been wearing them all day. I've got the "everyday legging skinny jean" (x2) but they have a proper button and fly and also "relaxed skinny" (x1). One type was £24 and the other £26 but I can't remember which was which.

I also needed them to go inside boots but I tried them on with my new top and shoes and I would wear them out like that as well.

SayraT · 24/10/2014 19:22

Here you go MrsHP.

The grey jeans are the everyday legging, I also have them in blue (normal dark jean colour) and Next did them in quite a few colours. I fancied the pinky red ones but they didn't have them in my size.

The blue jeans are the relaxed skinny and they are looser than the legging and are not tight round the ankle, they have a little turn up too Grin

The other picture is all the jeans I got, all 16s except the grey which are 18.

Good luck on your jean shopping, I used to hate it but this time it was so successful and made me feel good Grin

Can't see any pics, but might pop to a next nearby and try some on now you have inspired me! What do you wear on top, I think my tummy is the worst bit for me so I need to cover it....

MrsHerculePoirot · 24/10/2014 19:25

Oh, now I can see them now I've posted!!!!

MrsHerculePoirot · 24/10/2014 19:26

You look lovely and are a similar shape to me... I might be brave and try some on!!!

Tanukisan · 24/10/2014 19:35

The jeans look great, Sayra. and the kitchen too!

SayraT · 24/10/2014 19:46

I wish the kitchen was mine tanukisan I am staying at my friends house just now looking after her horses. I have serious envy when I stay here!

The pink top is also from Next, they were two for £11 and the purple top is from Matalan (£14).

CharlieSierra · 24/10/2014 20:23

Yay to new jeans, me too! I got the lift and shape skinnies from Next and some NYDJ jersey skinny trousers which I'm actually going to wear out tomorrow night with a blouse tucked inGrin can't remember the last time I felt able to do that.

HauntedChesterDrawers · 24/10/2014 20:57

Seriously need some new jeans. Pinged the button off my only acceptable pair today Blush. Thankful it got caught on my trolley in the supermarket so it wasn't totally cos I'm too fat, but even so Blush

Looking good Sarya. I think I've got those grey jeans, and agree they are lovely when they fit, which they currently don't

Just had nice Atkins recipe curry and cauli rice. A bit mild/bland for me but filled a hole.

SixImpossible · 24/10/2014 21:31

PissesLike: Waitrose Thai Green Curry.

MoJangled · 24/10/2014 22:45

Lookin good Sayra !

I might have to cut out dairy. Sigh. It might be a deal-breaker on this diet being doable for me though... DHs 50th this weekend so will start on Monday. Very much don't want to though.

Following Prettybirds lead, can I ask a candid question about water and wee? I'm drinking loads, 3-4 litres a day, and could probably drink more. And yet, my wee is lime cordial coloured. Is this because I'm actually metabolising vast amounts of fat which is shortly to be revealed by the whoosh fairy , or am I overloading my system to the point that even 4litres of water can't dilute?

HauntedChesterDrawers · 25/10/2014 07:23

Mo, I've cut back on dairy this week and I've lost 1.5lb so far.

I've not cut it out totally, I've still had yogurt and cream a few times, a bit of cheese here bad there, cream in my curry and it seems to have made a bit of a difference. I was really peed off at the thought of no dairy but in reality it's not been that hard.

Maybe give it a go for a week or so and see if it helps? I'm telling myself that I only need to cut back til I've lost my weight. Lots of cheese will definitely be part of my maintenance plan.

HauntedChesterDrawers · 25/10/2014 07:24

Oh and no idea about the wee. Mine's really pale. Lime cordial colour sounds, erm, interesting!

Pleaseandthankyou · 25/10/2014 07:38

Another good day yesterday and another pound off, that leaves 6 more to get to where I was. I threw out my bigger jeans and I will not buy new ones in a bigger size so I have to stick to this.

SixImpossible · 25/10/2014 07:46

I'm dreading next week. Half term. Summer holidays were what did for me previously. I'd been chugging along very nicely on Bootcamp Lighter-than-light (ie maintenance, rather than active loss) when suddenly the Fat Fairy leaped out of the fridge and gave me back a dress size. It was the stress of being at home with my dear little darlings that led to me face-planting in chocolate. Not helpful.

BiWitched · 25/10/2014 09:59

You need to PLAN Six! Not just meal plan, but plan your activities, so you know where you are, what you're doing, what's available to eat, etc.

Liveinthepresent · 25/10/2014 10:09

Morning all - feeling good here.

Well done Sayra new jeans are always one of my favourite weight loss yardsticks!

Had the most amazing dinner last night - slow roast chicken with mushrooms in a bit of cream, crispy kale and celeriac chips - wow they are my new favourite thing ever!

We are going to make a chicken and mushroom soup with the stock

MoJangled I fear I may need to ditch dairy if scales don't move this week - but also worry it will make this too hard. Will try to cut back slowly perhaps.

Today
b boiled egg, ham, mayo
L probably omelette and salad at local cafe - not many low carb options!
D Thai curry with chicken thighs and roast cauliflower probably

Have good days all

ClashCityRocker · 25/10/2014 10:14

A good day for me too yesterday - in fact, I don't really notice I'm low carbing anymore. Not sure I will have lost this week, but I'm nearly a stone down anyway so will be made up just to sts.

I second what BIWI said, six, plan as much as possible. I would also make sure you have a stash of portable low carb snacks.

Can you get away with not keeping chocolate in the house?

What I try to do is recognise situations that will be higher risk - days out, dinner with friends most weekends and plan accordingly.

ClashCityRocker · 25/10/2014 10:15

Also, how the hell do you peel and chop a swede?!

DH has renamed them the devils vegetable as it took me an hour to get one peeled and chopped yesterday. And I really like swede but they're just such a ball-ache to prepare!

prettybird · 25/10/2014 10:29

Re swedes neeps up here : the way I do it is that I cut a thick slice (almost as if I were going to make chips) and then chop of the edges on that - very roughly with a big knife. Much easier with the flat (cut) surface face down and only a small amount of "skin" along one side. I then do another slice in the same way and then stack the two slices on top of each other and chop them to whatever size required - small for soup or cooking to be mashed, large for roasted.

Definitely don't even think of using a potato peeler. Large knife and rough 'n' ready is the way to go.

BestIsWest · 25/10/2014 10:36

Score the, and stick them in the microwave for a few minutes. You should be able to pull the skin off then.

MrsKoala · 25/10/2014 12:03

Can i ask a question - if i am doing BC lite, do i need to weigh my dairy? and is there a limit? ie 100g of yogurt a day?

Also can i join you all even tho i am doing the lite?
