Morning all! Sorry for later-than-usual start to the thread

Hope last week was good, and that you have managed to keep to it despite the fact that we are in the infamous weeks 3 and 4!

Come and confess all on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

or on the on the Weight Tracker

If you haven't seen the scales move, don't panic!

This is really, really common - keep on keeping on and from here on, hopefully things will start to move again. And you will know that every pound you lose from here on, will be fat. You are only likely to see losses of 1-2lbs every week, but don't forget how much a pound of fat is - imagine 2 packs of lard, and that's what you're losing for each pound!

Hi all - I haven't had time to post much this week but I'm still doing pretty well on the food front with a few slip ups.

The scales are all over the place though! I was up a couple of pounds on Tuesday, went to the pub on Tuesday night (had low carb dinner before I went but I had quite a few drinks) and I was down 5lbs the next morning. What the hell was that? Dehydration perhaps? I'm back up to Mondays weight again this morning so I'm cautiously optimistic of STS this week, although I have a tricky weekend away to deal with, including a lunch at my feeder-MILs (she brought THREE cakes to my house the other week).

Pisseslikeahorse · 23/10/2014 19:52

not so good this evening, the lurgy has been making me really ruff, add a cream curry sauce and blurgh

sorry if your eating

so today
B. BPC
1.5hr run
L. green tai curry mince + cauliflower
D. Red mince curry with cream .... ugh!
9pts water and counting

SarahBeenysBumblingApprentice · 23/10/2014 20:28

Lots of lurgys at the moment - I figured out why I felt rough this morning when the stomach bug started. For me and DD - explains why she cried all of yesterday though!

I'm keeping food down so I'm going to try some crabby crumble - I feel like I'd be better if I did eat something and I only want toast but I'm not eating that.

Thanks to everyone who's under the weather!

HauntedChesterDrawers · 23/10/2014 21:40

Flowers to everyone feeling under the weather. Healthy vibes being sent your way.

I'm feeling good, if a little knackered after DS was up 3 times last night. Seriously the kid is nearly 4 - surely this should be over by now?!

Good day food wise anyway:

B: boiled eggs and butter
L: BPC pre gym. prawns, avocado, salad, olive oil post gym
S: pork scratchings
D: home made burger, in two oopsie rolls with cheese and bacon, courgette chips, salad

MistyMistletoe · 23/10/2014 21:56

Thank you for the warm welcome Sarah. Yes I have made a start today, here's hoping I'm on the right track.

B. Salmon & Cream cheese. Green juice & wheatgrass with a tsp of flax seed oil.
L. Veg soup.
D. Broccoli & cheese soup.
E. 45 minutes walking.
2 litres water.

Liveinthepresent · 23/10/2014 22:00

evening all am keeping on keeping on - reading what others are eating i worry that my problem is sheer quantity!

yesterday was better but today was -

B- 2 boiled eggs, ham and mayo
L- an amazing bought cobb salad - it has leaves, chicken, egg, bacon, avocado, blue cheese and a bit of tomato - so its all on message but maybe just too much? I tried not to finish it all and then had a bit more as an after stressful meeting snack
D - slice of meatzza with salad. post stressful meeting wine

DH is pretty much with me on this and says he feels much less bloated and wants to carry on even though neither of us are convinced we are going to see losses on scales this week. Much easier with him on board.

As I said before the conversation about emotions and triggers is really helpful - well done to all for hanging on in despite the demons and sorry so many people are feeling ill.

readyforno2 · 23/10/2014 22:46

Finally weighed in! 2.2lb off.

I'm stunned. Even after the sandwiches on Monday at the training course Grin
Don't think I'll make my target.. Still 5lb to go and only a week to get there.
But I'm pretty happy with how I'm looking just now. Don't think I've ever said that before! I've actually booked a boudoir shoot. It's on Saturday. I managed to get a cancellation. Anyone done one before? Need some pointers..

ClashCityRocker · 23/10/2014 23:16

What are Oopsie rolls like?

readyforno never done one myself, but always said if I lost the weight I'll do one. A friend of mine did one and said it did wonders for her confidence.

BiWitched · 23/10/2014 23:34

ready - that's brilliant! In the great scheme of things, only having 5lbs to go is nothing!

I have a challenging weekend. Off Oop North tomorrow, for my nephew's wedding on Saturday. So out tomorrow night with the family for dinner, and then to a catered event on Saturday lunchtime.

Knowing my family, loads of booze too!

So I am drawing a veil over my statistics over the next week.

masquerade · 24/10/2014 00:15

Evening all, sorry to hear so many people are feeling unwell!

I've been doing well, I'm quite amazed at myself actually, don't think I've stuck to rigidly to a diet for so long - yes I know its only been three weeks but its still a personal achievement, especially considering the complete lack of chocolate. I'm definitely an emotional eater as well but I seem to be avoiding it by asking myself what I want more, to lose weight or eat chocolate; also the idea that even a little extra carbs might derail me, and the thought of then having to deal with cravings.

I had my first comment on my weight loss this week, it did come from a lovely colleague who knew I was trying so I can't be sure it was completely genuine and not just her being nice, but still, I can definitely see myself that I've lost weight.

We had a takeaway for tea because I was feeling tired and a bit rubbish. Indian, we shared (my daughter and me) a chicken tikka starter and a lamb curry dish main, I completely avoided the naan (for my daughter) and the free poppadoms and mango chutney, and had a little bit of cauli rice instead. I know take-away is never going to be a healthy option and there might have been some sugar in the curry sauce but I still feel like I made good choices, and I haven't had much else in the way of carbs today.

I lost a pound last week after 7lb the first week, I'm hoping for 2lb this week to keep me track for 2 stone by Christmas (I'm including the 4lb I lost before my recent holiday, well it was 8 but I put 4 back on!).

toomuchicecream · 24/10/2014 06:50

Last week I was up 1 - fully deserved as I'd eaten like a complete pig for a couple of days due to DS's 18th. Was shocked to discover that in 48 hours I put on 5!!! So I stuck to it like glue and was quite pleased that by weigh in I was only up 1. I've kept on keeping on this week, really appreciating all the posts about emotional eating, but with the scales firmly stuck and not moving. I've been at the same place (give or take) for at least a fortnight.

Imagine my delight this morning then to discover I'm 2lbs down over night!!! And a colleague told me yesterday that my face is looking slimmer. She went on to say that whatever I'm doing is working and could I tell her please as her weight watchers weight loss is all coming back. All 3 people listening wanted to know what I eat, but immediately said they couldn't eat the fat...

HauntedChesterDrawers · 24/10/2014 07:19

Clash, oopsie rolls are nice, firm enough to make an ok sandwich base. They do have dairy in them so not perfect LC but good for when you want a little something. I'm going to have a bacon butty for breakfast today with the last two Grin

Today's plan:

B: bacon and mushrooms on oopsie rolls
L: left over burger, home made guacamole, salad
D: er, not thought that far ahead, will have a peer into the freezer when I get up.

MoJangled · 24/10/2014 07:30

can I have a yee-hah please? Vair posh roundtable dinner thing for work last night. I had an avocado at 4 to tank up, then had sparkling water as the pre-dinner drink, had a glass of wine and drank about3/4 of it in super-slow-mo; passed on the bread selection, the starter was mozzarella salad so I just left the croutons and things, main just ate the meat and mashed the carrots, potato and broad bean puree around so it looked like I'd eaten most of it, passed on the 4 mini-puds, was feeling really pleased with myself - much easier to decline a waiter's offer than a friends! And then they produced individual mini-cake stands of gorgeous petit-fours which I had to sit and look at for an hour over coffee - bastards! but I didn't eat any! YEEE-HAHHH!!!!

of course, still haven't actually lost any weight. Since August. Starting to feel a bit down about that...

HauntedChesterDrawers · 24/10/2014 07:41

Well done Mo. But seriously, no loss since August!? Have you stuck with it 100%? That terrifies me, especially as the scales have been a bit sticky for me this time, I don't think I'd cope with a six month stall. How have you kept going all this time?

Pleaseandthankyou · 24/10/2014 08:18

Oh dear, hangs head with shame. Just been away for a few weeks. The food was fantastic - and the wine. 8lbs on. Back on bootcamp. Yesterday was a good day. 1lb down. Target 1 stone. I am reading the thread for inspiration. Onwards and downwards

Tenementmonster · 24/10/2014 08:21

I forgot to eat breakfast yesterday which must be the first time in my life. Dunno if that means a loosening of my emotional eating. Not weighing but things are very much looser which is fabulous. I know I feel much better health wise with this WOE. BIWI thanks for your take away advice the other day. I had the tinned sainsburys curry you recommended last year yesterday. Delish. Dollop of yogurt with cucumber and roast cauliflower. Lovely.

Keep going, all

Pisseslikeahorse · 24/10/2014 08:23

MoJangled well done on the dinner and don't worry about the loss it will show at some point soon Smile

readyforno2* - what a fantastic thing to be able to state, congratulations! Flowers

I'm finding the closer to goal the slower it all seems to be, but I suppose if it went fast I'd be in real trouble and probably hospital

Ruff night here up with the ds2 3times, had to teach him to pop his ears. my heads a little clearer this morning. Did someone find some low carb friendly soup recently? could really do with some

readyforno2 · 24/10/2014 09:37

Thanks pisses.. I completely agree. This last 1/2 stone has been by far the most difficult. It's frustrating because in the May bc there was a couple of weeks where I lost 5/6lb. If only that would happen now!

SayraT · 24/10/2014 09:50

Good night with my mum last night, we went shopping. I got some lovely clothes including skinny jeans skinny jeans which look amazing Grin some tops (size 16, not 18 Grin). We went for dinner to Pizza Express but I managed to avoid carbs, we looked at all the menus before deciding and this was the best option.

I had melanzaine to start (aubergine, tomato, cheese all baked) then chicken caesar salad and a coffee with cream for dessert.

Today

B: Coconut porridge, coffee with cream
L: Left over lamb and ratatouille thingy
D: Mushroom omelette and salad

MrsHerculePoirot · 24/10/2014 10:32

Well done on the Indian restraint masquerade and mo on the night out. It is so easy to turn those scenarios into excuses (voice of bitter experience!!!!)

I have been having a whoosh this week, I am 4 lbs down from last Friday and feeling good! sayra where did you buy your skinny jeans from?

gointothewoods · 24/10/2014 11:50

I've had a whoosh as I had hoped post-AF, 3 lb!
As you were, just wanted to shout my shit. Grin

MoJangled · 24/10/2014 14:09

Blooming well done gointo and masquerade !

Haunted , it's not that I've STS since august exactly, but I've lost and regained the same 3lb, one and a half times. So I'm actually 1lb down on August start weight. For August and September I was doing India and Neris's IPD, which is basically bootcamp plus nuts and butternut squash, then joined bootcamp. Only 3 cheats: two weekends away when I really couldn't maintain my eating plan, and one overconfident moment pre Bootcamp when I tried making nut-and-stevia-based desserts - BIWI put me right on trying to replicate carby eating patterns. I have 2 stoneish to lose - my starting stats are very similar to Stuntnun's. I know I need to keep on keeping on, and this WOE does make me feel better in myself so I find it easy to stick with, and I'm glad to have lost that 1-2 lb, but... sigh... I am starting to wonder if this is going to work. Sad

MrsHerculePoirot · 24/10/2014 14:39

mo would it help if you posted exactly what you eat and drink for a few days to see if anyone has any suggestions?
