Having a mini- break from bootcamp - what to do?

I've lost 2 stone from following boot camp ( but need to lose another 3-4). I have totally stalled the past 3 weeks and only list 3 lb the month before, after doing quite well. I have got so strict - no dairy, minimal protein etc that it's just no fun as well as not working. I was thinking of having a break over the summer and starting again when the kids are back at school, the summer would be hard as we are out and spontaneous which isn't easy with low carb. However, I definitely don't want to undo things. Should I go foe wider range healthy eating? Paleo? I really can't do 5:2 as it triggers emotional eating. Is there a lite lite bootcamp that is worth trying?

I would follow the 80:20 rule where you follow the rules 80% of the time. If you do have a very carby meal involving bread or pasta then give yourself a low carb day or two before you do it again otherwise you may end up falling off the wagon completely. I look at the amount of carbs in things. For example the mini-desserts in Pizza Express won't add a huge amount to your carb count and can be included as part of a maintenance diet. Whereas a plate of spaghetti carbonara may require a strict day or two after it.

Some people low carb during the week then relax at the weekends. If you do this then watch out for your fat levels. It's better to do low carb high fat during the week then higher carb low fat at the weekend. High carb high fat, aka the cheeseburger diet that actors use to gain weight for a role, is the worst way to eat.
