Morning all!

I see several of you have already weighed in on the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

As of today, though, we also have our bright, shiny, new Bootcamp section on Mumsnet, including our own Weight Tracker, which will only show your own weight/progress.

You can either use the Spreadsheet as we have done before, which everyone has access to and can see, or you can go here and enter your weight.

Obviously you can do both!

When you're in the new Bootcamp, if you click on the tab that says 'more info' that will take you to a section which has loads of information about low carbing, as well as Bootcamp Rules

Before we get going formally, I have to make an important disclaimer:

I am not a doctor, a medic, a scientist, a nutritionist or a dietician. I have no formal training in food, dieting or low carbing. The information that I provide here is based solely on my reading on the subject, as well as my own experience. If you have any kind of medical condition and/or you are taking any kind of ongoing medication, you should consult your GP before starting a low carb diet

That done, good luck everyone!

I'm more flushed than usual, my skin is way drier than usual. And my hair is in worse condition as the week's gone on. Is this going to be a sort of "detox" phase? after which it will all be, well lovelier, like everything else will all be lovelier

I just had a bowl of yogurt at lunchtime - I'm not feeling that hungry, I don't feel hungry the same, or full the same, it's all completely different. The fact I'm not hungry is brilliant but I can't say I feel better but just odd. Patience though right....

SteeleyeStan · 17/01/2014 14:36

Eva I have it saved as a png image, so I just posted it like any other pic.
And thanks. :)

MrsHughJarse · 17/01/2014 14:36

lucy - my DH uses the same phrase ! So funny - although in a different context, when I pop to the loo after we have DTD so save the sleeping in damp pj's [tmi] [embarrassed]. We spent quite a while TTC for DD3 , as I am an ancient mature Mum and its now a novelty that I a not trying to trap every sperm I can !

MrsHughJarse · 17/01/2014 14:37

am not embarrassed - sorry - I meant to do the Blush icon !

Mlig · 17/01/2014 15:06

Can I just say I'm soooo proud of myself! I've had lots going in this week and haven't slept well, then last night I had some paperwork that had to be finished by today, so I stayed up til 4 doing it, I was absolutely shattered, and by 3 I was in the kitchen raiding the fridge for something to help me along, and I skipped the chocolate and biscuits and went for cheese and pate! I didn't honestly think I'd manage that as I was walking to the kitchen so am so chuffed with my bit self! Lol

And strangely enough when we were having lunch today my dd4 (she's nearly 2) came to swap lunch, she swapped her bread for my cucumber, and I don't touch the bread, wasn't really interested in it despite being the biggest bread addict I'm the world just a week ago ;-)

CalamityKate · 17/01/2014 15:46

"Don't feel hungry the same" yes it's odd isn't it?

I think its because any hunger is, like, pure hunger rather than hunger mixed with carb/sugar craving.

Lighthousekeeping · 17/01/2014 15:56

I'm just making the shepards pie. Smells yummy. I had to add tomato purée though. I hope this is ok.

ChasedByBees · 17/01/2014 16:45

A friend pointed me towards this thread. There are some fantastic tips, I need to break my bread addiction so looking forward to eating some of the yummy suggestions here. :)

gravity what is the rest of the meal?

Suzymoo9 · 17/01/2014 16:54

Back from work - was a bit dizzy today. Hmm

Steeley, you've inspired me.
But it's so hard to be patient.

B cheese & tomato omelette in butter & coconut oil
L ff Onken, salad, feta
S chicken tikka massala with cabbage (how sad) (rice & nan for ds)

Captain - how can you function on so little for breakfast? does the coconut oil mix well with tea? sounds interesting, might try it.

I am thinking about gin.

Lovecat · 17/01/2014 17:27

Lighthousekeeping, if you can get hold of the Gia sundried tomato puree it's much lower in carbs than the normal sort. Not as bright red, but it does the job.

ratherbe - so am I now...

teaandthorazine · 17/01/2014 17:36

Blimey pistey, you've just reminded me there's a bottle of sloe gin in the cupboard I'd forgotten about...noooooooooooo!

Today's Plates Of Glory:
Breakfast: cup of tea, protein shake with cream, spoonful of coconut oil
Lunch: mushrooms fried in butter, then added Parma ham and a couple of dollops of Philadelphia, 'on a bed of mixed leaves', as they say. Then a small bowl of total with added cream.
Dinner: am roasting a chicken, smothered in butter, with a load of garlic and rosemary up his bum. Will have with roasted broccoli and green beans. Ds will have a bit of added rice.

Haven't been so good with the water today so will have a big old glass now and another with dinner. Have had a couple of cups of liquorice tea. Just love this WOE.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/01/2014 17:40

God, I bloody love sloe gin. We have some where too!

Oh come on, let's all have gin. Tis not like anyone would know :)

I've still not been either but other than that I feel grrreat and I'm avoiding the scales until Monday morning as I don't want to be disappointed and pig out on the wrong things. I read somewhere that weightloss isn't as fast 2nd+ time round but BIWI might correct me on that.

Friday usually means wine, DH's roasties and pudding. In the past I've had about an inch of wine drowned in soda to keep him happy but this time round I haven't bought any so I can't be tempted. I've got him a box of guinness and some egg custards which I never buy because I don't like them. And I'm not listening when he says I'm fine as I am, he might like me going up to a FF cup but I don't and if he doesn't want to make roasties for one then that's his problem cos I'm not eating them (insert putting foot down smiley)

Thumbwitch there was a recipe for hot chocolate using good quality cocoa (can't remember how much) half a mug of water and double cream but I can't remember if I saw it on this thread or the recipe one.

Notsoskinnyminny · 17/01/2014 17:47

God i could murder a gin as well.

Remember ladies only one more week and then we can have some Grin

Notsoskinnyminny · 17/01/2014 17:50

For Thumbwitch

hot chocolate

Two tablespoons really good quality cocoa
Half a mug of water
Half a teaspoon of 'mixed spice' (nutmeg/cinnamon etc)
Two tablespoons of double cream
Vanilla pod seeds (is this ok?)

Add all the ingredients into a pan and heat gently, stirring/whisking

Not sweet, but not bitter, and thick chocolatey loveliness in a cup!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 17/01/2014 17:56

So one more week.

If anyone would like to join me, 6pm a week on Sunday, I'm having a low carb virtual drinks party.

I shall be having a slim gin. Ooooooo. It will be luffly

Grin
