I informed the Tax Credits office that I'm now single and they've cut my payments by £15pm!!! Does this sound right to anyone? Doesn't seem right to me??...

There isn't really enough detail in your post.

Were you and your ex both working? What hours do you work? Has your income increased or decreased in the last year? Did you get tax credits to help with childcare?

Your best bet would be to phone the tax credits helpline, as they will be able to tell you why your award is reduced.

when myself and dp seperated for a short while a few years back, I ended up getting about £2 less a week / £8-10pm than when we were claiming as a couple so yes seems entirely possible

Yes we both work, I work 37 hours pw and he is contracted to 24. I forgot to say they are Child Tax Credits, not Working Tax Credits

You probably lost the part that he got for working 30 hours.
