i dont have an issue with this atall.. just said ok when he told me. but if you go away for a week ( for a wedding abroad) and your ex has the kids is it normal for them to deduct money from your maintenence??

just wondered really???

If it's through the CSA, you wouldn't have to deduct a weeks pay, no ... if it took it over the next threshold for overnight stays, then it might decrease the weekly amount over the year ...

...but some parents do come to an agreement that the resident parent take a cut in child maintenance for the time the child is with the non resident parent.

You don't have to but it does seem fair that the resident parent will have lower costs, ie. food, utilities, extra curricular activities maybe and the non resident parent may have increased costs.

yeah that why i didnt say anything easier to keep the peace... definately wouldnt take it over the threshhold.. he is suppose to have them 4 times over night every month but often goes weeks without seeing them..

It can be difficult if they're not exactly being fair in other regards ... but then it would have been more polite for him to actually discuss the reduction with you first rather than just going ahead with it on his own terms.

yeah it just makes me laugh... he will do anything to try and get a raise out of me... im not giving him the satisfaction...

turned up in his new g/f bmw today instead of his ford mondeo... my daughter came in and said to me daddys car has 150 horses in it... did make me chuckle... like a 6 year old cares..

Sounds like you're handling it really well by picking your battles wisely.
