advice please peeps

I have a 3mth old and his father was a nightmare throughout the pregnancy not supportive and got threatened at the end of the pregnancy by him, he wasnt ready, i kept the baby blah blah blah and now he wants to see him. Im scared of him and have said he can see his baby at as contact centre but he turned that down cos he didnt want anyone else involved!! So now i have agreed to let him meet him this friday - absoloutely shitting myself but want to do the right thing and for my son. I keep having anxiety nighmares about him taking him away from me at this meet up and i wont be able to get my son back, any help or advice with this would really help!!

Best to stick to your guns about the contact centre if you can. If I'd done that with the fathef of dd1 I'd have spared myself four years of harrassment and fear. Trust your gut if you don't feel safe around him. Maybe if you're eligible for legal aid you could see a solicitor and talk about a non-molestation order- it sounds as if his behaviour warrants it. I hope you get this sorted out as it really ruins what should be such a happy time for you. Best wishes.

Can you make sure either someone is with you (a friend/brother/cousin/colleague etc) when he comes to meet you, or make sure it is in a public place eg a cafe/leisure centre, where there will be others around?

Maybe make an excuse - "sorry, I forgot I had to be in town for a meeting, but I could meet you afterwards at Joe's cafe" for example? And if you can meet in a public place like that, you could have friends primed to be there and 'accidentally' see them there, at a nearby table for support?

I don't know about contact centres, what they are like (nothing like that near me), but it sounds like that would be the ideal if you could find a reason to say why that is convenient for you.
