I am waiting on my child tax credit application to come through which is taking ages!!

and was just wondering if I am entitled to claim for the sure start maternity grant it might not be processed in time as my baby is just over a month old now and i know how long these things take.

I was just wondering if I should make a claim anyway before my baby is 3 months old & before I know how much child tax credit I am going to get so I dont miss out on this if I am entitled to it?

Does anyone know how this works ?? any advice appreciated .x

thanks

i would make a claim. You can see how much you should get on entitledto.co.uk.

You are entitled to it if you have a household income of below £15,000 before tax credits, so the amount of tax credits shouldn't make any difference.

Yes definately make a claim now. If you dont it will treated as out of time and fail anyway. If you are turned down and CTC is subsquently awarded you can normally ask for a reconsideration.
