Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

That sounds like a fantastic idea. Sorry, I don't know Edinburgh area, so can't make any recommendations.
Just posting to say - remember to pack some treats for yourself to enjoy in the evening when you are stuck in the hotel room with your toddler Perhaps a book you've been saving, chocolate, or indulgent drink of choice and snacks if you think you'll be able to get away with sitting and enjoying a film on TV.

Have a fantastic time.

Oooh, how about face mask, manicure etc. Stuff you probably wouldn't do because you seond your evenings catching up on housework.

Sounds like you really need a break - and as you say and change of scene can give you a real boost.

one thing i found was that dc (not a toddler) couldn't sleep with me in the hotel room! so some very quiet activities you can do while your dc is settling might be an idea to bring

oh, and have a great time
