bruised, glad to see you're back, your posts got pulled before I had a chance to post.

Just wanted to say how sorry I am that you had such an unpleasant experience with this man and to then have another on here yesterday.

Don't go, I hadn't seen this thread before and I'd like to post on here as I'm just starting dating again and I'd like to feel there IS somewhere to post where I won't get torn apart.

thesouthsbelle · 05/03/2010 16:39

hi dolly, & welcome to the brood, course you won't get torn apart here.

bruised glad you're ok, how are you today?

remember to talk about chappies even if it makes em look bad cos from exp these girls will give it to you straight as it is in a nice way.

Dollytwat · 05/03/2010 16:43

thanks for the welcome thesouthsbelle

I'm going on a second date with my (younger) man on Monday so I'll update you all then, as I don't trust my own judgement any more

thesouthsbelle · 05/03/2010 16:45

join the club! lol.

Dollytwat · 05/03/2010 16:48

Ooh I like glaxay too

Remotew · 05/03/2010 17:13

Gawd, I didn't realise the people saved threads. Still everyone to their own.

Bruised, glad you are OK. Best put it behind you. You need to shout NEXT. Make sure you post any doubts first.

Dolly, hope you enjoy your date with the younger man.

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 05/03/2010 17:28

afternoon all. mn playing silly buggers today hasn't it.

bruised - can we not get this thread pulled please. lets not discuss the other threads.

yes... often when you see a fella and get to the sex bit they disappear.

on the thread this is known as broken finger syndrome , where they disappear and cant reply to messages or let you know their wont be any more dates... why hey cant text back a simple "hi.. sorry, wont be taking any further"... we cant fathom... (other than cowardice)... or broken fingers

we've all sufered it at some point of other in dating, i'm not entirely sure.. but i think every single person on the thread had suffered it too..(perhaps except monty as she was always with dp )

dolly - i like bombay saphire gin and cranberry.

how much younger is your fella, what happened on first dates... and in keeping with the thread you need to give your younger man a nickname. and what are you doing for next date?

belle - does marine walk around the gym as he instructs or stand at front of class only???... are you the type who's at the front of class.. or at back hiding?

booked my hotel for next wkd. decided to go for a travel lodge type place just beside the train station. just incase forces cant make it to airport in time as my flight is in afternoon and he'll only get away early if he's a good boy ... i'll just have to jump on train from airport to the main station in the town and i'm right at my hotel . then i can dump my stuff and go for a wander myself while i wait on him finishing.

Evening all,

Dollytwat at your younger man, see previous threads on bald hair lol.

Bruised! I saw some of that thread today and I was coming on here to post about it. I was just about to post on it to say 'shall I cut and paste quick before they delete'!!! I can't get over that. For others who didn't see it, I've forgotten the name of the poster, but she was quoting straight from yesterday's thread and it turned out she had cut and copied it before it got deleted and then was using the detail today on the spin-off. OMG. Apparantly this is a regular activity of mners on controversial threads.

How are you Bruised?

Remotew · 05/03/2010 18:18

On that theme Monty, and I'm not going to drag up anything after this, but think we should all be aware in future when adding each other on facebook etc. It's a shame you have to think like this.

Nice quiet weekend ahead for me. Going to see family tomorrow. Having a takeaway and film night after that, then walking with DD on Sunday, she is training. Bought some Sticky Chocolate Pudding for after our roast on Sunday, so that should counteract the walking nicely!

Anyone out on dates this weekend?

Hatesponge, I've sent a friends request on fb. My first paragraph doesn't relate to anyone on here. Was thinking take time to get to know new posters. This is of course the advice we should give about new men. Not that we take it.

ninah · 05/03/2010 18:30

hello all
like the sound of your weekend eve! i am sooo glad it is friday! child free tomorrow too, and no plans, lovely. I feel a bit of bargain shopping coming on monty ..
Hair, yes I have already cut it all off him a number of times. He doesn't have a good shaped head but it looks better. It is still shiny on top tho. I have shown him what jeans to wear and he wears them, after having expressed at the price. I have been suit shopping with him. I have suggested he eat more salad. Then he lets his hair grow back and sticks on another sludge grey fleece, he is eager to look better but will not run with it on his own behalf and after all I have two dc already iykwim

Betty79 · 05/03/2010 19:26

ninah-lol my exh was a bit shiney on top but used to shve all his hair off.

juice-woohoo to booking hotel bet u cant wait now! do u think u will spend much time out of hotel room?

belle-have fun doing combat ooogling at marine

The trucker has text me today and said to let him know when I'm free next so shud be sorting something out soon, dont want to be too available yet tho lol

Betty79 · 05/03/2010 19:28

hmm why didnt my strike out work??

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 05/03/2010 19:36

betty - when are you available next. your a lp for gooness sake. not like your available everyday anyway.

just say when your next available.

i'm trying to find out if the town i'm going to has one of those old fashionned cinemas in an old theatre/auditorium... i loooove thesoe wee places you get throughout europe when you go out of the main cities. the buildings themselves are like museums and nearly always a historic listed building... and you usually get beer and an interval for a pee

OP posts:
Monty100 · 05/03/2010 19:41

You have to strike out each word Betty. Good you heard from Trucker.

Eve - that's a very valid point there about fb. Scary thought, someone cutting and pasting your posts. Jeez.

Ninah bargain shopping. Sounds like you have a nice weekend lined up.

Belle - is Marine attached?

Bit quiet on here.

And I'm sooooo glad it's Friday. This week was torturous at work.

RedBlueRed · 05/03/2010 19:42

Evening all, I figured things would be calmer today but it sounds like there has been further broohaha. When I first joined mumsnet it was the time of mouldiesgate and it kicked off on a daily basis - there always seems to be something.

Glad to see you posting bruised, hope you are feeling better. Your experience was horrific.

Nothing wrong with Firemen, nothing at all.

hatesponge · 05/03/2010 19:46

hi everyone

eve - have added you

couldnt find a dentist who could see me before monday, which is no use as will be 250 miles away by then!...thankfully tooth not actually hurting yet so hopefully can hang on til I'm back next week.

have to go in to my old office tomorrow to do some work in the morning...but only for an hour or so then am off to do some shopping! then have promised the boys I will take them out for a walk or on bikes if the weather stays nice in the afternoon, before I go over to friends for a girls night in with a takeaway, lots of wine and much slating of men!

no dates here...none on the horizon, although did get an email yesterday from guy I used to work with which was a bit , lots of stuff about when was I coming back etc...but he's had his chance & last time told me he was scared of getting involved, so really can't be bothered with all that again!

juice - exciting you have everything booked now

eve - am re your sticky toffee pudding.....my bowl of melon and grapes seems inadequate in comparison!

ninah - know what you mean re nm. while guys who will accept clothing/styling advice are great, it does only work if they are actually interested enough in how they look to run with it

Betty79 · 05/03/2010 19:52

juice-Well as sad as it sounds I dont have a lot on in the evenings

He said if i want to go for a drink it will have to be weekend cos he starts work early i think and he lives about 30 mins away from me. Or something to eat anytime lol think i'll suggest something to eat early next wk. I'm free tommorow night but doubt i'd get a babysitter at short notice, and cant ask mum as she's booked for next fri when i go speed dating ha ha

monty-realised that afterwards lol! am glad it's friday too, looooong week.

So who's on the baileys tonight then? I've got some lovely wine that was on offer in asda and just ate my second creme egg today!

hatesponge · 05/03/2010 19:57

betty - good that you heard from trucker have you worked out when you're available? (or when you're going to say you are, lol!)

eve - have realised it was chocolate not toffee pudding, so even more now!

Remotew · 05/03/2010 20:07

What's in the air atm, I'm not a choccy person but have been craving it this week.

I'm having a glass or two of red. Need to be up at a resonable time in the morning so best not guzzle it.

Betty79 · 05/03/2010 20:15

I'm not usually either eve, and same on the wine! dd2 has swimming lessons in morn so have to be up early

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2010 20:53

aww bless him ninah..we like your fella on this thread he's one of the nicer ones
just think of some of the loons/muppets/twats that you could have dated
please don't feel that you've missed out at all imho you've been v.lucky!!

DONTtouchMUMSspecialJUICE · 05/03/2010 21:01

yeah.... just think ninah... you avoided thumb suckers/cross dressers/ big gums.. to name a few examples

OP posts:
Remotew · 05/03/2010 21:08

Yes Ninah, you have avoided one with mental problems, dates with men you don't fancy, dates with a couple you do that carn't peform and a couple of one nighters with hideously younger studs. Nah you haven't missed out on anything.

sincitylover · 05/03/2010 21:20

hi all just reading through to catch up - drinking some loverly sauv blanc (treated myself) and also eating lime pickle and poppadums (rather unsavoury habit of mine).

Any man who hooks up with me had better like spicy .

have also had a terrible week at work - have submitted a rather dodgy report in connection with some funding we have received and also had my colleague who I line manage in tears at end of yesterday. have managed to sort the latter issue quite nicely I hope but the first thing could blow up in the future. I didn't write the bid but basically we didn't do what we said we would but had to say we did IYKwiM.

Back later when I have read more.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 05/03/2010 21:29

yeah ninah you've been told lol
scl we know you like spicy but i'm yet to meet a man who likes lime pickle!!
unless anyone disagrees here...
