Just feeling very low and weepy, but have loads to do, the house looks like shite, i'm sat here in pj's, with greasy hair that I can't wash because I have run out of shampoo and have no money til tuesday and I really feel like going back to bed for several weeks.

However, I can't afford to sit here moping all day. too much to do.

Have you got shower gels tucked under your bed anywhere? Could you ask your neighbours? (DOn't know the kind of relationship you have with them - I woould certainly ask for a wee blob of shampoo and would wrap it up as "Silly me completely run out and NOT leaving the house to buy more until I've washed my hair!")

Failing that, tiny amount of washing up liquid in water, give it quick rub through, and rinse well.

Been there, done it, it's not nice, I know.

I also have no money til Tuesday when the Child benefit (oh please god let me have got this right) should go in.

cornysxmasmuffmusic · 20/12/2009 10:45

washing up liquid and lenor (or any clothes conditioner) is fine. We all used Lenor in the 80's dontcha know!

MrsMorgan · 20/12/2009 10:47

I might do yeh, will hunt through the cupboards in a mo. We did have a bottle of kids shampoo somewhere but that seems to have vanished.

Wouldn't want to ask the neighbours, but I could pinch some off my mum if needs be.

you could comb some olive oil on it before you wet it as a pre-conditioner as well.

MrsMorgan · 20/12/2009 10:49

Is that the day it normally goes in Colditz ??

Mine is normally due on a Monday but always appears on a Saturday. My IS is due on Tuesday and tax credits on Wed, which will all remain as normal I think.

I should get next weeks child benefit early though I think, not sure.

Mine goes in monthly, mrs Morgan - I've been waiting for it for 2 weeks, and as my IS goes in fortnightly now (who the FUCK thought that one up?) I'm usually a bit deperate by the time I get the Child benefit. And in the weather I'm laying out a FORTUNE on gas

zookeeper · 20/12/2009 11:17

Aw Mrs Morgan I know that feeling of not knowing where to start. Beg borrow or steal to wash your hair, slap on some clean(ish) clothes and some lipstick, put on some loud music and tackle one room at a time for twenty minutes.

I'm sat here in an ancient dressing gown in a house that looks like a tip (kids went to their dad yesterday). You can barely see the carpet in my ds' room for the toys and clothes and there are clean, dirty and drying clothes all over the house. Every room is a tip.

I'm aiming to have three rooms looking halfway decent by one - care to join me?

MrsMorgan · 20/12/2009 11:22

Snap with the gas Colidtz. My house is so cold I just cannot not have it on. If it is only me here then I don't bother, but I am not having the kids being cold.

The fortnightly IS thing is stupid, I hate it.

You can have your CB paid weekly you know.

I will join you zookeeper. I have got dressed, minus the lippy but nevermind lol. Oh and I just found a bit of cheeky cherry kids shampoo, so at least I will smell nice later.

I have just bunged a load of washing in the machine and now I am going to tackle the washing up.

Oh God I've got to do something now

At least you're dressed!

See you at one

MrsMorgan · 20/12/2009 12:08

Lol

Ok, so far I have washed up and tidied the kitchen.

General tidy up downstairs now I think.

Well, one load of washing on, two bin bags full of rubbish to be taken out (this is where I miss my exdp) a load of clean stuff put away and part of the ds's carpet emerging.

another hour and I might be able to contemplate letting someone through the front door..

MrsMorgan · 20/12/2009 13:59

Hmm well I put all of ds's toys from the lviving room in a bag for him to take upstairs. Have just been back in the living room and he has got them all out again.

Just done lunch so need to wash up again and stick another load in the washer.

It is never ending.

Just checking in to say I did finally wash my hair lol. Werid shampoo though, didn't lather up at all.

Feel slightly better today because I made myself make sure the kitchen and living room were tidy before bed so I'd not get up to a mess.

Might start my room today.
