How can I prove earnings?

My XH has paid a total of 4 months maintenance during the last 12 mths - he walked out of his job so said he couldn't pay anything. Started another job for a few months, so paid bits then, has since walked out again and saying hasn't got any money again.

He's claiming but I'm sure he must be doing a bit on the side, although he claims he hasn't any money. He turned up last Sun in a 59Corsa he's got through some sales work!

I had a court consent order 5 years ago where he had to pay £250 per mth.

I'm totally fed up and want to go to the CSA but how can I prove what he earns. He'll say he's on benefits and I'll only get £5.

Report him to the benefit fraud hotline.

If you go to the CSA you can apply for a variation where his quality of living is not matching up with his declared earnings.

unless he's working 'cash in hand' he'll be paying tax and national insurance. the csa are supposed to do a national insurance number trace to see how much has been paid by him and his employer. they then use his tax code to work out his earnings - isnt that hard and they have access.

getting him to part with the money may be harder.

Unfortunately, it is cash in hand he gets, plus he's on benefits. Thinking of telling him if he doesn't pay up I'll drop him in it, know it will cause trouble but am very, very p'd off as have had little money for the last year.

i've never had any maintenance from my ex and she's been gone for years. she too has worked cash in hand while on the dole, but i would never have dropped her in it even if i'd have been better off, just isnt the thing to do as i see it as ive done allsorts to get by over the years and still do when necessary.
