am disgusted...

this man owes my dd £4k, he works full time as a recruitment consultant and all he has to pay is £11 a week... based on their calculations this means he earns less that minimum wage. Twats, what the hell am I going to do with £11? he might as well have it back!!!! mind you he's not paid for 2 1/2 years so I don't ven know why I expect to see this £11 fwiw! sorry just needed to rant

Sorry, I have two friends in similar situations to you and cannot believe how easy it seems for one parent to just walk away leaving the other (my two friends) to scrimp along whilst they are free to earn and spend as they wish. And yes, these men apparantly think the world of their children too - funny way of showing it.

I'm having dealing swith the CSA at themoment and have jsut been told that the 4k that my x owes me will still be being paid off when ds2 is in top year at secondary school - at the moment he is on fist juniors!

But can I just put a plea in on behalf of the poor sods who answer the phone at the CSA - they have a really crap job and most of the time you aren't speaking to the person responsible for your problem. The girl who I have been dealing with told me that it's governemnt regulations, and I'm sure it is and as such there is no point loosing my temper with her. I work in the NHS and daily get shouted at for regualtions that I didn't write, don't agree with and have to enforce. Save your temper for the bast**ds that deserve it!!

I'm about to write yet another letter to my sodding mp! In my case they have admitted liability for a fault so I'm hopeful - well sort of!

lilibet, I had sympathy for them 2.5 years ago.. unfortunately now I believe them to be a buch of lying t*ssers who are master in the art of getting you off the phone with no resolution. sorry.

I have no sympathy for them at all. AFAIC they are all a lying bunch of tossers who care only about screwing as much money as possible out of the dads that they can get to pay so they dont have to chase up all the absconding tossers and they dont give a toss about any family who is suffering because of how they judge the cases. they dont read case notes. They lie to get out of dealing with cases. They 'loose' letters sent to them. They harrass people in their work places and threaten them. I think they are scum TBH and I have told them so in no uncertain terms quite a few times before now.

Rickman - I have been chasing them for a payment schedule since June - I've now had a new calcualtion without a new payment schedule.. without the schedule it means nothing anyway!

When, if ever, are the government going to sort out this awful organisation! It is a fecking joke, an absolute shambles!

Luckily for my ex and I have a private arrangement, he check the CSA website saw it was supposed to be 15% and that is what he gives me. In fact he is very good and when he got a small payrise last month he put up the standing order to match!

However I hear so many stories of men who just cannot be bothered helping financially and the CSA seem incapable of making them!

I am so sorry TVI! I cannot understand why A. the CSA CANNOT sort this out for you and B. why he won't try to help more!!!

PS Even though my ex and I have private arrangement the CSA wanted to 'check' it. They decided he owed me £25 and as he paid it 2 days late they wsent a letter to his employers asking for it! Why is they are so bothered about cases like that rather than the important ones! He was furious and really embarrassed.

that is terrible, my ex refuses to work because he will be forced to pay for his children so he pays the massive sum of £2.50 a week.

The csa also left a message on MY ansaphone for my ex partner

I don't understand why the CSA should get involved at all in private arrangements. In principle, it is none of the State's business what people agree to pay maintenance if both parties are happy with it. The CSA should only concern itself with disputes. But of course, sorting out disputes is much harder than sticking your oar in to fix something that ain't broke.

They really should just scrap the system..
