Father's Day

Just wondering what other single mums were going to do about it if the father is still around? Im presuming my ex will want to come see dd on that day, although he didnt last year. Im presuming nursery will do cards which is something, but should I do anything else? Is anyone else going to do/give them anything?

does he deserve anything? if he does then do something. if he is unlikely to see dd then tell nursery you are worried and you may find they make the card for mummy

im not sure if he would come. he keeps banging on about he misses dd so much, yet its been 9 weeks since he last saw her. he asked my mum if he could come and see dd this sunday which annoys me so much cos its got nothing to do with my mum if he can see her or not, especially since i dont even live with my mum. he didnt do anything about mothers day for me, not that i really expected him to, but i suppose its different cos I actually live with dd, or is it not? although i suppose something like that really shouldnt stop me getting him something, but then its my money im spending when ive got bills etc to pay.

if it helps, my friends daughter couldnt find a card that said 'youre a naughty daddy' so got a nice one and gave it to her mums boyfriend if he doesnt deserve it dont waste your money on him and explain to nursery that the situation may upset dd - they will probably play it down around her

I dunno it is a hard one I guess. My kids dad is still around and he does see them everyweek, most weeks so yes I will be getting him something, even though I don't want to. He's not getting much just a card and a pair of socks, although I don't want to get him anything, he just dosen't deserve it in my book.

But he is thier dad and I don't want in years to come one of them (ex or kids) to come to me and say well actually you never bothered about fathers day......

I think you have to do what you feel is right to be honest and it must be hard on you and your dd if your ex hasn't been around for 9 weeks..

I will get dds dad something as he is very good and sees her 2/3 times a week but have no idea what!! Last year I gave him a photo in frame so maybe I should do the same this year as he doesn't have a very good collection!

mines will be getting pointed in the direction of the shopping centre and told if he wants something for fathers day then he should take himself down there and buy it himself like i had to when it was mothers day.And the fact that he wont have seen them for 9 weeks by the time it comes round,oh and surprise surprise he chooses fathers day weekend to visit them,couldnt manage any of their borthdays either so i think not on the subject of fathers day gifts for my ex !!!
