Well Id just like to share with you that the CSA might have been absolutely no use to me over the last 3 years but they have seen the error of their ways and paid me compensation for their crap organisation!

Im not saying how much but believe you me it was enough for me to cry and shake!!!

I haven't received anything for nearly nine years!
Well done you.

well done you

Louise1980 · 26/05/2005 19:49

They have. Its because they cocked up that they paid. It took them 369days longer than it should have to initiate my claim, they simply paid me what Id lost.

He's still in about £2,000 of arears.

an advance payment then

Louise1980 · 26/05/2005 19:52

Probably the only thing I will ever get from them! If he knows Ive got it he will think he never needs to pay me.

Or he will come round for a loan!

Louise1980 · 26/05/2005 20:09

Not just yet. It hasnt sunk in its mine yet. I want some new clothes for me and to take kids out for the day and not worry what I spend.

My mam and sister are paying for me to go on holiday with them to Blackpool in october. I might pay as a thank you for all the support Ive had from them.

Hi Louise!

Your in here too!!

Congratulations on the compensation. I have been battling with my claim for the last 3 years and they have still got loads of new tricks up their sleeve everytime I call them. They say they have it sorted onlt to be still waiting 3 months down the line, you complaoin and it sarts all over again.

What was the turning point for you? The only reason I am asking is because I am having a bit of a bad time of it at the moment as Now his parents are taking me to court for money!

I really need a bit advise, if you can help I would appriciate it tremendously!

Louise1980 · 27/05/2005 14:31

Wendy the CSA have one month to action your claim, mine took 13months and 5 days! They decided that I have lost out on 369 days payments from my ex partner and that is what they have paid me. Plus some interest, goodwill payments and £10 to riemburse me for phonecalls I made!

I still have never received any payments fropm my xp and Im not sure what they do about that. My initial complaint was because they took so long to take action.

Louise - just complain regularly, and you'll get a compensation cheque regularly.

My ex never pays, but I get a cheque roughly once every 9 months from the CSA for the pitiful amount he should have paid me, simply because I keep demanding it and telling them that if they don't give me any compo, I'll go back to my long-suffering MP. For some reason, they prefer to write a cheque...

beansmum · 27/05/2005 14:55

I haven't heard anything since I gave the CSA my ex's details, maybe I should complain too?

have fun spending it!

Caligula · 27/05/2005 20:09

Beansmum - yes, complain. You'll get a compensation cheque.

If they actually have to start paying out more money than they're bringing in, maybe they'll be abolished or made to work properly. Their existence is stopping children getting maintenance - at least if they didn't exist, we could go to the courts.

weesaidie · 27/05/2005 23:08

What is ridiculous is that if your ex actually does pay you then they start hassling you!

My ex and I came to a private arrangement early on but had to get in touch with the CSA as I was on benefits.

11 months later they wrote to him with a form to fill in and then said that seems fine but you owe arrears of, wait for it, £25! And he is supposed to pay it in three separate transactions! What?

I think they need to get their (apalling!) figures up so they can say my case was a 'sucess' even though I didn't need or want their help and had given them proof on numerous occasions that I was receiving maintenence!

The whole organisation seems to be completely incapable of helping people who actually need it!

Louise1980 · 28/05/2005 08:28

CSA is a farce. I would love to be able to take my ex to court and get what Im entitled to.

I also want to keep my ds1's father out of my life and the CSA needed to have very intimate details of our relationship to grant me good cause so they would not ask him to pay!
