Hello all.

I'm a bit new to this, however I have been advised to take a look on here by my HV.

I have recently taken custody of my two lovely little boys. Before that I had them every weekend since my partner and I split up last year.

So I thought I would pop on and say hi and make myself known if I'm not intruding as I'm not to sure if mene are allowed lol.

Take care

Hi Brad, you are very welcome - lovely to see you. Of course men are allowed. How old are you little boys?

Brad79 · 15/06/2009 14:50

Hello

Thanks for the nice reply. My eldest is 4 and the youngest is two.

They are a right pair and certainly do enough to keep me on my toes.

Hi Brad, I'm a man as well... I don't tend to post on this section of Mumsnet but can be found on some of the other sections, especially Childminders/Nannies as I work in childcare. I currently nanny for a family with 2 boys whose children are similar ages to your children.

You will find that Mumsnet is great for ideas on what to do with your boys on rainy days, on sunny days, how to cope with night waking, common childhood aliments/diseases, recipe ideas and lots more.

Your HV must be good, as they have pointed you to the best parenting site on the web.

Hi Brad, I'm a man as well and I, too, look after my two kids by myself although mine are primary school-aged so it's a bit easier! As Nick says, MN is great for advice, ideas, and the occasional raging argument

Brad79 · 15/06/2009 15:24

Thanks for your replies.

Its nice to know that there are other men in the same boat so to speak.

Welcome Brad

Hope all is going well for you and your 2 lovely boys. One of my best friends is a single dad of 2 but I cant persuade him to come on here which is a shame cos I think loads of people on here are a great help when things are going bad, or you are feeling sad or lonely or if you just need to have a moan. Oh and we also like to hear when things are going good too

Tortoise · 15/06/2009 16:40

Welcome Brad. Agree with everything Kerry said!
MN is THE best parenting site!

starshaker · 15/06/2009 16:49

Brad79 · 15/06/2009 16:57

yerblurt · 15/06/2009 19:35

Hi there brad

What's the circumstances with the children and mum, just wondering how you have 'custody' (I presume you mean residence, sole residence?) of the boys. Especially such young boys too.

aseriouslyblondemoment · 15/06/2009 22:40
