Hi Nutty we have spoken on here a few times and the last time i spoke to you you were still intersested in getting into childcare training.

I have just got a job as a nursery assistant.I sent off emails to all the nurseries in my area stating that i needed paid employment of at least sixteen hours a week in childcare and that my training would be of no charge to them as i had found this government funding childcare training for all ages www.smart-training.com/.

Seven of the nurseries got back to me i had a few interviews and start work this week.I hope smart train cover your area and thought this might be of help to you.

Hi BNM, thanks so much for posting. Unfortunatly I tried that a while ago and no one was interested.

Smart training do cover my area and were really helpful but I couldn't find a nursery willing to take me on in a paid position.

A couple of the replies were actually quite rude.

I will hopefully be taking my driving test soon though so if I pass I will try emailing some that are further afield.

Thanks again, it was lovely of you to think of me.

Oh, out of interest, how many hours are you doing ??

Nutty my boys school is offering NVQ positions.

Probably a bit out of your way though?

NervousNutty · 12/05/2009 10:38

I can't remember where they go, is it the one that starts with Gr, or the one that starts with Gl ??

It is a bit far at the mo yeah but would be ok once i pass. The travelling would probably be ok if part time, but I suppose they are all fulltime.

I can't remember your email addy, mine is [email protected] if you can give me any more info.

Ta muchly.

its on the newsletter of 28th april and again last weeks x

Ok thanks xxx

Thats ok Nutty.Cant believe the nurseries were rude to you thats awful.

I am going to be working 16 hours.Im on a permanent contract but it was iontended to be a supply role so i will always do a min of 16 hours a week but possibly more.I gave a higher than average estimate to tax credits so hopefully i wont get overpaid.

Thats great BNM, I am so pleased for you

Emma, that training looks like it is only open to parents of children at the school, but I have emailed them to check.

tiredemma · 12/05/2009 19:08

worth a try. I do know that they have some TA's there who do not have children.

fingers crossed Em x
