Saturday night. Im sooooo nervous!

Met on POF a fortnight ago, and chatting on msn lots. I really like him and think I will feel v comfortable with him on the whole, but nervous because he is deaf, and I cant sign or lip read well (my signing limited to most of alphabet and a few phrases that Ive been teaching myself off a website in last few days - will perfect alphabet at least before Saturday)

Is this likely to be the biggest disaster ever?

Hes really sweet and reassures me it will all be ok and to relax, but I cant help it! Im likely to make a complete ass of myself....

We talked about restaurant, but because of potential communication problems I think Id rather go somewhere private, but then thats never a good idea on first date is it?!

Can he lip read? I have a very close friend who is deaf but he can lip read with no problems and as long as I face him when I speak we communicate without any difficulties and he can talk to me.

Chatted about it online last night again, and feeling a bit more confident

Well, date went really well and seeing him again in a few days. He taught me a few signs and I can lipread him a bit. Was awkward for first hour, but when I relaxed it was all ok. Like any date I guess!

if i can get a sitter for ds, i might have a very similar date! mine isn't complete deaf but i'm still a bit nervous about it lol. looking forward to it as he is very fit!! hope your second date went well too!!
