Dd (5) promptly puked and diahorrea-d all over his bed (I had taken her with me asleep to save on babysitting) within 3 1/2 mins of me getting there, so I stripped the bed and came home . Will he ever speak to me again? (He is dc-less and so nice and understanding, sob sob sob!)

Oh the joys of being a Mummy!
If he really is a nice guy Paws, you'll defo see him again.Fingers crossed for you.
Shit happens (excuse the pun)

Pawslikepaddington · 22/04/2009 22:23

I have sent him a text, and am so mortified, but he hasn't replied . He did have no credit though (lives in Greece for half the year so a contract is pointless). Can just see him sat eating all the cold food on his own with his bedroom stinking of bodily fluids-no girl is worth that, surely?

Just a little tale to make you feel better: a mate of mine once drove to see her new man and, on the way, was struck with a dreadful reaction to some medicine she'd had, and threw up all over her car and herself. She arrived, got out of the car and tried to ward him off, saying she was sorry, she'd go home and see him another night etc: his response was 'Go and have a shower, I'll clean the car.'
She married him

Pawslikepaddington · 22/04/2009 22:24

I would have married him for that too!

Me too!
Give yourself some credit Red, he obviously likes you- hence the dinner invite.
So his bedroom might smell abit for a while?! if you offer to make it up to him, I'm sure he'd jump at the chance

SmilingEi · 22/04/2009 22:33

oh no!! if hes a nice fella he will call you again plus if it were to turn out well between the two of you he would have to get used to poo and sick as that is what little kids are made of
xx ei xx

MsMargotBeauregarde · 22/04/2009 22:35

oh god. that's exactly the sort of thing that happens to me...

edam · 22/04/2009 22:38

oh, what a horrid evening for you. And poor ds. (Hope he's feeling a lot better very soon.)

Hideously embarrassing but everyone is right, if he's a nice guy he'll cope, if he's not, at least you've found out now rather investing lots of time and emotion in a bastard.

edam · 22/04/2009 22:38

rather than, I meant. Doh!

Pawslikepaddington · 23/04/2009 12:19

He he, the sweetest thing happened-he packed it all up, brought it over and gave it to me anyway, complete with an ice cold beer, and we ended up dancing to Jazz in the kitchen at 5am when we were clearing up. And then he went home without "expecting" anything. Oooooh he is so lovely!

Pinkchampagne · 23/04/2009 18:11

Ahh, he sounds like a keeper to me!

Pawslikepaddington · 23/04/2009 18:34

I think he is too . My friend told me off today for calling him my boyfriend, but I think after that he might well be . At least in my opinion! Am now stuck between inviting him over tonight (I won't see him until next Tuesday now) or waiting until next Tues-next Tues is probably better but I want to see him!

Oh what a lovely ending to a horrible thing! He sounds like a good thing to me!

bettyboo26 · 23/04/2009 20:46

Great news Paws. I'm dead pleased for you.
Told you you were worth the effort, your new bf clearly thinks so.

Pawslikepaddington · 23/04/2009 22:08

Thank you all for getting excited about this too. It was such a movie moment-me opening the door totally pissed off-clothes soaking wet through bleach and scrubbing, hair scraped back, sunburnt face (despite my spf 20 moisturiser!) looking thoroughly bedraggled, him on doorstep with plate of food, the most amazing ice cream I have ever had, beer and coffee. He is Mark Darcy! Officially!

OP posts:
bettyboo26 · 23/04/2009 22:13

I want one!
Who said romance was dead?!
So, when are you seeing him again?

MsMargotBeauregarde · 24/04/2009 12:52

sounds like a really nice guy..

mankymummy · 24/04/2009 12:56

bet he's a secret serial killer, sounds too good to be true !

Pawslikepaddington · 24/04/2009 14:04

I did ask him! And I asked if he was married! (but at 23 it is unlikely!)

inthemistsoftime · 24/04/2009 14:28
