When do they send out the Tax Credits annual review packs?

My tax credits were greatly reduced last month as I informed them of an increase in my nursery costs, so I am quite anxious to get the rest of my March payment which they held back (should be around £300)

I got my P60 last week but still no renewal pack- can I just phone them with my P60 figure or do I need to wait for the pack?

My finances are pretty tight at the moment as Ex is unable to pay maintaince at the moment, the current excuse is the credit crunch yes seriously, he gave me a little current affairs lesson thus explaing why he wasn;t able to help support DS in March or April (obviously the credit crunch doesn;t affect his abilty to pay for booze and fags, kjust child support what a guy)

You can't do the renewal till you've received the annual declaration pack as it has two purposes -

  1. Give your actual income for the previous year

  1. Check your statement of circumstances for accuracy so that there's less likelihood of you being under/overpaid, eg updates you've forgotten to make, errors, late notification of changes etc.

Provisional awards are the payments made from the start of the tax year to the date you do your renewal, and are based on any estimated income figures for 2008/2009 that you provided to HMRC before 5th April 09, the income figures used will be in your award notice.

I chased up mine the other day they said they are in the process of sending them out and they take 7-10 working days to arrive. They can confirm whether it is posted but not actually WHEN! Which is ridiculous.

However the good news is we have unti 31.7.09 to confirm any particulars either in writing or by 'phone and the payments would not stop until after then.

So luckily plenty of time to see to it, ensure no missed payments etc.

HTH.

Well mine finally arrived and I immediately phoned to give them my income.

Took ages to get through and when I had given them my detials I asked if they could tell me whther I was owed money from 2008/09 (which I assume I must be) they can't tell me over the phone - I have to wait for the award letter.

When I asked how long that would take I was told there was no set time....

Oh well let's wait and see then

I got my 4 weekly payment on Monday the 20th April but the payment was reduced by about £30. Was anyone else payments different this month and if so do you know why?

in your last letter of award it should tell you your provisional payments for 2009/10 which I presume that is the first payment of? Have a look at your letter.
