What do other people do?
When you have no family to visit and lo has no friends to speak of? Aspergers.

How about the some of the single parent holidays - I know some are dear but some are more reasonable.
How about contacting Gingerbread - one friend goes away with her Gingerbread local group on reasonable short holidays
Good luck

look at 1-bed apartments on holiday rentals or owners direct and cheap flights with easyjet or ryan air.
Spain would be a reasonable price (I was looking last night), fly into Alicante. Look at various dates to get cheapest flights.

I have done a few UK holidays in static caravans, you can go for a full on havan type site or a much quieter site with fewer facilities.
It works out realyy good price wise, but I tend to pay out more on driving about and visiting places.

What kind of holiday are you thinking of?

Another one I considered was PGL family, thought that doing activities with other adults and eating with others would mean I get to socialise a bit. Kids do their own activities and some with their parents too.

Have you considered camping? We're arranging a HUGE single parent camping weekend on the first weekend of June - we have OVER 250 single parents and their children signed up to this already and it looks like we may top 300 ! It's a great location, Shell Island off the coast of Barmouth in Wales and we're organising a big party on the Saturday night. It's a great way of meeting new single parent friends and a good, cheap and fun weekend.

We organised this trip last year and had 90, I can't believe the interest we've had for the return visit !

Full details are here "SingleWithKids Camp Fest"

I am going on a single parent break for a week in Wales this summer, with 'Care for the Family'. It is a Christian organisation, but I'm sure you don't have to be a Christian to go. Can't tell you what it's like, as this will be my first one.

Also you could try the sun £9.50 deal? I know its probably abit chavy, but it is cheap and as a sin gle arent sometimes thats what matters.
