I'm married but we don't celebrate it - a load of smultzy nonsense if you ask me! Enjoy your cake!

puffling · 12/02/2009 18:03

We don't celebrate it. DP's not interested.

poshsinglemum · 12/02/2009 18:05

mabe us singles care about it more as it is a bit of an issue in our lives. my mate said somethging lovely- that i kud celebrate lasting love with my lovely daughter rather than my usual transient romantic love. hence the cake!

mind u puffling- do u wish he would celebrate it? I know lots don't mind either way-just another ploy by card companies etc. The media hype this year seems to be more intense. Last year i didn't notice as was preggers.

I can see why he wouldn't want to be sucked into the hype, but he's not romantic in any way any time.

CrackerNut · 12/02/2009 18:36

I was going to have an M&S meal deal with my mum but it is £20 instead of £10 because it is a Valentines meal instead

tigerlili · 12/02/2009 20:38

My ds is with her dad, so i am going to cinema on my own, to watch he's just not that into you!

Apart from that it will be a normal day!

Bloody CRAP Hallmark hype!!!(Not bitter really )

brightwell · 12/02/2009 21:23

I'm taking ds to see Bolt, have bought Maltesers & Minstrels to smuggle in. It's just another day!

poshsinglemum · 12/02/2009 22:23

lol tigerlili-good choice of film!

puffling- so many men don't have a clue about romance. Shame really.

Bah, not at all probably after argument with DP. Bah Humbug to valentines day!

HateSponge · 12/02/2009 23:05

DCs with their dad at weekend, so some of my friends are coming round & we're having a girls night in with takeaway, wine and the DVD of SATC!

is probably the first time in living memory I've actually looked forward to valentines day (says the person who has NEVER EVER had a valentines card . Not even a joke one!)

Janos · 12/02/2009 23:17

I never ever had a Valentines card from my XP.

I have adjusted my expectations accordingly.

If you expect nothing you will not be disappointed!

inthemistsoftime · 13/02/2009 14:26

I have 2 invitations out for tomorrow nite, however neither of them is for a romantic event!!!!

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/02/2009 14:32

ChipButty · 13/02/2009 15:40

inthemistsoftime · 13/02/2009 17:12

do you always live in hope that one day you will get a surprise valentine card?

I do, hopefully from someone like David Tenant, or Sting (when he was young!)

asbm, yes I am saving myself for Monday, as I'm not gonna get anything sooner! lol

aseriouslyblondemoment · 13/02/2009 19:11

tho Jason Orange would do too!
Purpleone Happy Birthday to you for tomorrow
and hope you have a lovely day x

skramble · 13/02/2009 22:39

I will be on my own, I do have a BF but won't be seeing him on Sat as he is working. Kids will be at their Dad's so it will just be me. I think I will get a big huge f**k off takeaway on the way home from work and pig out with a film or something.

BF is taking me away for a couple of days so I will still have to do all the romantic stuff .

inthemistsoftime · 14/02/2009 08:09

HAPPY VALENTINE'S EVERYONE

PersephoneSnape · 14/02/2009 08:24

I've never had a valentines card from a secret admirer - it would have been nice when i was still at secondary school and believed in Romance. Now I just don't believe, so theres no point - and I'm skint. bf will pop around for tea later when DCs are in bed, buut it'll be muchlike nay other day.

I'd love to be taking DCs to cinema to see bolt! have fun brightwell, and everyone else. if you're single raise a glass to that.

CrackerNut · 14/02/2009 09:02

I have never had a card from a secret admirer either, even at school.

I used to send loads, and my dad sent me one a couple of times, even posted them from different areas so i'd not think it was him. Calling me a pumpkin or whatever it was slightly gave it away though lol.

All I had today was bills, so same as always.

Flightisatwat · 14/02/2009 09:04

Post comesin about an hour, am not expecting anything...have eaten entire box of lindor truffles, apart from one which I gave to squonk.

She is my valentine today.

Mooseheart · 14/02/2009 09:05

Shit - do you know I've just remembered what day it is? All dh and I have done is grunt at each other. (In a completely non-sexual way may I add).
