my lo is 2 and came home tonight with diy fringe courtesey of daddy

i am fuminghe's made a right mess and also i am a hairdresser so it makes it equally bad

where do i stand regards this as he has completely over ruled me i was growing her old fringe out as it was too heavy he has also made it alkot worse now too

will my solicitor laugh at me if i ask to make a stipulation in the divorce that he is not too have her hair cut ???

im so mad right now he is also pushing for other aspects on access and not paying a huge amount of maintenance .

what do i do have i a leg to stand on ?

i dunno, i would be annoyed if my dp cut ds's hair without asking me, but i am a bit weird like that.
that said, he IS her father. you can't take that away

Oh my god, id be fuming! But def best to have a word with him. Thats totally mental to be honest,...surely he should have waited for you to do it as your a hairdresser? Whatever made him think he'd be better doing it??

THINK WHAT HAS HAPPENED HERE IS HE HAS SEEN THAT YOUR DAUGHTERS FRINGE IS OVERGROWN (BECAUSE YOUR TRYING TO GROW IT OUT). HE HASNT KNOWN YOU ARE GROWING IT OUT BECAUSE YOU HAVENT TOLD HIM THIS AND SO HE HAS SIMPLY THOUGHT TO HIMSELF, WOW, YOU NEED YOUR FRINGE CUT - SNIP. MIGHT BE AN IDEA TO HAVE A WORD WITH HIM. PERHAPS NEXT TIME PUT HER FRINGE TO THE SIDE IN CLIPS WHILE IT IS GROWING AND ASK HIM THAT HE LETS YOU CUT HER HAIR FROM NOW ON. I WOULD FEEL THE SAME AS YOU BUT THERE'S SOMETHING QUITE AMUSING IN IT. YOU'LL LOOK BACK ONE DAY AND LAUGH.

oh it's hideous when this happens..
I still cringe when I look at school photos of my 2ds with their botched up fringes and I had only taken them for haircuts the previous day!!
Sadly I think its just one of those things that's part of childhood..
But yes I would be furious if my ex had done this to my dd

Dont make a big deal of it, clip it to the side and let it grow out.

Would he listen if you asked him not to cut her hair himself?

Was he aware that you were growing the fringe out? He probably thought he was being helpful by cutting it.

It would be WAY over the top to make an issue of this, it'll have grown again in a few weeks. It would be extremely inflammatory to even mention this in the way you are suggesting, and I really don't think it will help the situation if things are not good between you in the first place. He is her other parent after all and in his eyes he may well consider himself just as entitled to say what haircut your dd has - or indeed any other issue. The best thing for your dd would be to let stuff like this go over your head, so that the two most important people in her life are not arguing about something as insignificant as a fringe.

I think though that this isn't really about the fringe, and I you may find that when you are less angry with him about the other more important things, something like this will just go over your head.

whoops you have a right to be fuming, has he done this as a way of holding control ? I dont think it matters whether he knew you were growing it out or not he should have trusted you as a hairdresser to groom your daughter's hair, mention it to your solicitor if you think he has done this on purpose.
