How would you feel at a party where you are the only single person?

This happened to me last night. It was lovely to get the invite, the only one Ive had in my newly single status, but I was left feeling like some kind of alien

Latest in the sad single saga, I have a new job starting in January and they have invited me to a big staff and partners party a week after I start. Nobody knows me, or knows I dont have a partner! Will be going on my own to a party where I know no one, I am really looking forward to that one
