Just a question really, I feel like I need to move on and finalise the financial arrangements while my resolve remains strong.

Is there any good reason for waiting for the separation period to end, or is it just there to give you time to think about it?

I am fairly certain that my partner and I are not destined to get back together so why prolong the agony!

you can start proceedings after a year of marriage based on either his unreasonable behaviour or his adultery

if neither of the above two apply, you have to wait until you've been sep[arated for 2 years, provided he agrees

I separated from my Exh at the end of August 06 and got my decree absolute the following February 07. Was on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour.

Did not use a solicitor. Took documents etc to the court myself.

But took some legal advice (I work in a legal environment).
