They seem to come round quicker and quicker.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

it could be worse, it could be christmas do you hate weekends too?

IllegallyBrunette · 28/11/2008 19:07

Just fridays when the kids are at their dads.

I don't mind them if I am going out, but that is rare. I just get so sick of being sat here with nowt to do and no one to talk to.

Working this weekend!

Splendid!

My sister is due later tonight to stay and urchin sit (bless her. It can be a 5 hour drive from rural Suffolk to Bristol on a Friday night)

So I get two 12 hour shifts in charge of an A and E department. This is significantly more relaxing than crowd control at home.

I view it as a rest.

Sadly, no urchin care for Christmas, so I have the drudgery joy of looking after four unruly boys all to myself.

Pinkchampagne · 28/11/2008 19:13

My boys have gone to their dad tonight too, and I'm not doing anything, but after being up all last night with DS2, who was suffering a nasty tummy bug, I am more than happy to chill this evening & have an early night. It will be just my luck to come down with it myself tonight though!

IllegallyBrunette · 28/11/2008 19:15

I do plan to see if I can work most Friday evenings once I start my job, so hopefully this problem will be a thing of the past.

Fingers crossed you don't get it pc.

well if its kids you are missing IB, i can loan you 3
i would love to have a lie in, i had one in june when the kids were on school camp, i can expect another when they go on school camp and thats only if all 3 go together.

IllegallyBrunette · 28/11/2008 19:31

Do you find you actually lie in though OJ ??

I seem to wake at exactly the time my alarm would go off during the week and then i end up getting up because I can't drop back off.

I know I should be grateful for the break, and I am, I just find it so boring and lonely that it ruins it.

I find the dogs wake me up in the morning and then I have a guilt trip about not feeding them and the horses and get up anyway. I am lucky that I have plans for this weekend but I'm not sure how I am going to fill up a whole week alone especially as we had just moved when H left us so I dont have any friends nearby. It is my first New Year alone and I'm dreading it

onlyjoking9329 · 28/11/2008 22:44

well i don't sleep very well, then when i do get off to sleep the kids wake me up usually around 5am. i sometimes dont get to sleep until 3am.
i really do undersatnd the boredom and loneliness.
its almost 6 months since steve died, i am still not used to being alone, not sure i ever will, the thought of my birthday christmas new year then steves birthday fills me with dread at the moment. i am sure things will feel better when thats all out of the way.

IllegallyBrunette · 29/11/2008 08:39

I am not sure you do ever get used to being alone tbh, I think that because we have kids, the majority of the time we are too busy to notice.

I am sure there will be a few of us on here on NYE elastamum, so we can all be miserable together

I think it will be better once I can drive, because then I can go visit people, wether they like it or not lol.
