Took my boys round to DP's parents house for a little firework display last night

It was lovely. It was the second time they have been round there, but this time all his nephews were round, so they had other children to play with. DS2 immediately hit it off with DP's youngest nephew & was running around with him.
DP's mum then cooked for us all (17 people!) & my boys were just welcomed like one of their family - it was lovely. DS2 even held DP's mum's hand at one point & was chatting away to her!

Not sure why I am posting as this must be boring to others! Just feel really pleased that we have all been made to feel so welcome by his lovely family.

My boys behaved pretty well too! They started bickering at the end of the evening, but it was their bedtime at this point, so time to go!

Sounds lovely Pinkchampagne!

How did the meet with your folks go? I lost the thread.

Pinkchampagne · 10/11/2008 23:26

It went ok actually, Buda! Dad wasn't rude - he spoke to DP, even stood up to shake his hand & told me he seemed like a nice bloke! My sister & BIL were fine too...a big big step when you think how things were just a few months back!

i am so pleased for you - yaaaaaaaaaaaaay xxxx

Tinkerbel6 · 11/11/2008 09:49

Excellent PC, glad you all had a good night, you are very much a part of your partner's family which is a good thing.

I didn't know that you partner was going to meet your family, glad it was ok, I can imagine you were very nervous, onwards and upwards from here

Pinkchampagne · 11/11/2008 15:52

I was very nervous when he met my parents. I was worried dad would be rude, but he was fine. They felt bad about ex H, and ex H is still as involved with my family as ever (feeding the cats for them atm as they are away!), but there are big big improvements! Not sure what will happen at Christmas yet, but know it won't be day after day of celebrations involving my ex like last year!
