Income support and CSA (rates going up)

I got a letter two weeks ago saying that my income support was going up £10 and the rules regarding maintanance have changed and you not get to keep £20 of it rather than £10.

Anyway the changes were supposed to happen last wednesday.

I get paid on a tuesday so got paid the day before the changes were due to happen so does that mean that I'll get the difference this coming tuesday or has someone messed up?

I have heard about the csa thing, but haven't heard anything about IS increasing by £10.

SpandexIsMyEnemy · 26/10/2008 18:39

no you get it this week, i've just had mine it's true IB, £10 more.

MrsSnape · 26/10/2008 18:41

well it isn't really, it's just that if you get IS, they now allow you £20 of your maintanance when it used to only be £10 so an extra £10 in IS gets paid to absorb it IYSWIM?

Is this even if you get no maintainance?

mine's fine thou thanks for your elp with it.

I though the changes were coming into affect this week (end of October).

And you get to keep the first £20 of any other income now (rather than the £10 it was before). So that could be maintenance, or money from a job (up to 4 hours a week) etc.
