Hi Lou, saw a post from you about being much better since going bankrupt on another thread here. Didn't want to hijack that thread, so hope you don't mind me starting this one? Won't go into detail here, but recently went to CAB who went through the advantages/disadvantages of bankrupcy and concluded that the only disadvantages in my case would be no credit for 6 years and not being able to work in the financial sector (neither of which are high on my to-do list...) According to lovely CAB man, I wouldn't neccessarily lose the roof over mine and DD's head (which I still own, by the skin of my teeth) either, although it couldn't be ruled out. Was also advised to wait for one of my creditors to 'do the deed' rather than paying £500 to do it myself. Am still very apprehensive about the whole process though, and would like to hear from someone else who has been through it.
