If one more person asks me if I pulled at the wedding then I will punch them

I wasn't even expecting to, but it seems that they were certain I would. One person even said 'are you sure'

Hmm well, after 2 years of nothing, I think i'd remember if I suddenly got lucky.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Did you pull at that wedding nutty? Sorry!
Maybe they knew someone had their eye on you?

lou33 · 26/08/2008 19:31

the main thing is you had fun, which you did

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:36

No, they knew I had my eye on someone, but I had already explained beforehand that nothing would happen.

I did have a fab time yes, but would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly dissapointed that I didn't even get chatted up or anything.

Nevermind though.

Sad
IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:38

Still waiting for the pics to go up on the website. Wish they'd hurry up.

you should make the first move if you like someone one day maybe?

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:39

Have to admitt to dissapearing to the loo half way through the few slow songs that they played, as I looked like a right lemon sat there doing nowt.

charliecat · 26/08/2008 19:40

Aww Like Lou says maybe you need to do the chatting up, or maybe not chatting up, just the first move in a conversation that may lead elsewhere..

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:41

Well there is no point with this particular person Lou, as I already know they aren't interested.

Not sure me making the first move is something that would ever happen anyway tbh.

charliecat · 26/08/2008 19:42

I would have felt like a lemon too. You have been very very brave doing the whole BM thing you know.

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:42

I have just forgotten how to do any of it.

Mind you, not sure I ever did know. I met xp on the CB radio, so that was easy, felt like I already knew him by the time we met.

Surely thats todays internet dating.

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:44

I did enjoy it, and I'd do it again.

My dad said I looked like a princess anyway . Mind you that was after he txt me on the morning saying 'hope u get your tits and ass into your dress ok' LOL.

I think it is CC, perhaps that is why I am so wary.

OP posts:
lou33 · 26/08/2008 19:46

i think the thing to do is not see it as chatting someone up , but as just engaging someone in conversation

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:49

I just no good at it Lou.

The person I like did come and speak to me as soon as he got there and that was fine, he asked how i was, i asked how work had gone cos I knew he'd had a problem with them giving him the time off etc, and then that was it he went to get some food. I was relieved cos I don't know what I'd have said next.

Did feel quite stupid later on as I walked back into the room as he was walking out and he winked at me, and I smiled and looked at the sodding floor.

charliecat · 26/08/2008 19:50

God it sounds like he likes you.

lou33 · 26/08/2008 19:51

i agree with cc

disregard his gender and chat like you would casually to a female friend

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:57

Nope he don't. Well he does, but not enough.

OP posts:
charliecat · 26/08/2008 19:58

If he does you can work on that surely?

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 19:59

Nope too complicated.

A) he lives too far away

b) he doesn't want to take on 3 kids

c) it just wouldn't work.

He did admitt that he liked me, and said he wished we'd got together years ago, but we didn't so thats that.

i think it should be him who decides if he is prepared to do those things nutty

but also dont you think even if it was a relationship that lasted a few months it would be good for you?

do you have to assume the man you get involved with is going to be forever and take a fatherly role in your kids lives?

TillyScoutsmum · 26/08/2008 20:08

How did it go though IB ?? Assume you got down the aisle without passing out with nerves ? Don't forget to come back and show us some pics please

IllegallyBrunette · 26/08/2008 20:44

He did decide Lou. It was him who told me it was a no no, cos of the kids and the distance, I didn't ask him.

I don't assume that the next man I meet will be in my life forever no, and I don't expect them to be a father to my kids, but to me there is no point in having a relationhip with someone who knows that they would never ever be inteested in being a fulltime part of mine and my kids lives. It wouldn't be much of a relationship if I had to keep the two seperate until the relationship reached it's inevitable death.

I don't think a relationship with him, where I knew that it was going to come to an end would be good for me at all, I think it would just about finnish me off.

I did enjoy it though TS, and managed to walk down the asile without any major mishaps. I did develop the shakes though LOL. Pics will be posted as soon as I manage to get some
